The Library of Last Resort is your last chance to find the resting place of Dragotha's phylactery. But you aren't the only people looking for it.

...okay, RNGesus? We seriously need to have a talk after this.
I'm hoping RNG taking with one hand where you're concerned means that it will be giving to me for a somewhat chancy move I have planned for next round.

I think this might be RNGesus' way of getting back at me for what happened in the Coenoby...

I'm a bit confused on what's going on with Korush's challenge. Is the idea to get him to give up before it happens?
Female Kobold
The idea is that he did not have enough movement speed to actually reach you. Jann fly gracefully, but also very slow. :P
Personally, I was hoping to lure him over the gnoll pit and THEN disarm him, but when he lost interest in the flying bard, well, I wanted to do the elevated disarm while it was still an option.
And I forgot Janni have telepathy. For a second I was wondering "Is Zyrxog in the crowd? And why is he being so colloquial?"

Uh, s#&*. Hang on. Sorry. There was supposed to be an image accompanying that post.
There you go.
Male Underpowered Warrior 1
KC, how much leeway does a target get with command? Specifically, if I were to run directly underneath Korush and tell him to "flee," would he fly straight up into the illegal zone, or would he have the option to just fly away horizontally?
Female Kobold
He has to move directly away by the most expedient route: Straight up. Command is an a&&%@%* spell. You can tell because I've already killed two PCs with it (though Gattel was indirect). :P

Would a Dispelling Bomb be enough to dispel the cerberus or does Rodrigo have to call it off himself?
Female Kobold
A Dispelling Bomb would work, yes.
Male Underpowered Warrior 1
There, now neither of you have to use up resources.
Female Kobold
You can assume that the bats are easily disbatched after the fight, by the way.
Male Underpowered Warrior 1
What about the cerberi? :0
Rodrigo can dismiss it, now. (And probably would have been allowed to dismiss it during the fight, technically.)
But what about the gnolls? Won't somebody please think of the gnolls!
So the only deaths were a gnoll, a troglodyte, a kobold, and an elf? Well, hey, that ain't so bad. I mean, not like monster lives count or anything! ;-)
(Though I think Farrukh was the elf-slayer...)

Little known fact: Al'Khatel means "Elf Cleaver" in Kettish.
And none of you can prove me wrong.
Female Kobold
I see him as more of an elf punter, really.
Oh, guys with napalm weapons, yay. That'll be fun.
Female Kobold
God, what s%$!ty rolls. One d100 is rolled per crit scored, plus two more for a couple well-done maneuvers. You need at least a 76 to increase a rank, and you increase one automatically for winning. Those betting on Spiny's Six will be thrilled, though—Rank 3 means they'll still gain 3 GP for every 1 GP wagered.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Wait, our odds change?
If I'd known that, I would have just bet on our first game, since the payout was best then.
At this rate betting on us winning the whole tournament will just make us break even. =/
Female Kobold
Your odds for the bet with the Thieves Guild don't change. Aside from that, were you planning on only betting with the normal bookies on the final fight? Because betting on a team is basically a one-time thing—you bet once and get paid every time they win. If you guys win the next fight, for instance, Eben and Astraden will win 750 gp.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Ah, I see. I thought it was a one-time bet: One bet, one payout.

Were you waiting to see if others wanted to chime in with Tigiri?

Also, shouldn't I have gotten paid then? I placed a bet as well.
Quote: Farrukh is in on Eben's plan, and places a 250 gp bet on Spiny's Six winning the tournament.
Female Kobold
Sorry, I was searching for "wager" on the thread. You'd have gotten paid, too, then.
I don't think I ever asked for a clarification on the thieves guild pot. I know it initially started at 3:1 winnings; did that go up to 10:1 when we tanked our reputation too, or is it different because it's a 'special' bet?
Female Kobold
It's a special bet. It has nothing to do with you guys winning, technically—the Thieves' Guild gets paid as long as Auric loses.

So... should I hand off my invisibility extract or take it myself?
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
It'll give Farrukh a +37 Stealth, if that matters.
Depends on whether we need one guy to sneak, or the whole party. If the latter, the least stealthy guy should get it.
Male Underpowered Warrior 1
Is the whole area dark? If just one person gets it, they might also need ebon eyes or darkvision.
Oh, dang, hadn't counted on that. How do the normal guards see?

DankeSean wrote: Oh, dang, hadn't counted on that. How do the normal guards see? Hopefully, they carry torches.
Yeah, I suppose that was a rather dumb question on my part. For some reason I'd just assumed the place would be covered in everburning torches. But I guess our moving around with a light source won't be automatically suspicious.
Female Kobold
Dungeon has shown a propensity towards "everburning torches EVERYWHERE", so I can see how you'd make that mistake. :P
Dungeon clearly gave up the battle against light/dancing lights even before they were castable at-will. Take pride in hanging in there and fighting the good fight even a decade after Paizo/Wizards surrendered.

Are we just planning to case the place this time around?
I'd angle for mostly casing with a fight or two if necessary. I'm just imagining tomorrow Palemon being all 'OK, fess up, who killed our troll?'

The real problem isn't all the dead guards. He's just worried you guys left the Coenoby while killing them. Don't leave the Coenoby guys. It's against the rules. :(

Do I need to target the caster with a Dispelling Bomb to stop the spiritual weapon or do I need to bean Farrukh in the back of the head with it to stop it?
Female Kobold
You hit the weapon itself.

By the way, do I still need to make Fortitude saves to get closer to Farrukh without being Sickened?
Female Kobold
No, because no ghasts are still alive there. The smell fades quickly once the unholy consciousness departs.
You're squeezing in that square, though, so don't forget the penalties.

Okay. Wasn't quite sure because of the map.
