GM SuperTumbler |
Here is a recruitment thread to discuss characters and get ready for Justice League Legacies. I'm excited about the ideas I've seen so far. I'm sure that getting everyone together will spark the fires of imagination. I'll post more setting info as I have time, and we can talk about whatever we need to.
GM SuperTumbler |
Feel free to talk about your characters/concepts here. We can talk concepts and builds openly in this thread or by PM, whichever works best for you. I've found that more eyes on a build can be helpful in matching the concept as closely as possible, but I understand some people like to keep it close to the vest.
The campaign will start at or near the Hall of Justice, and your heroes will need to replace all or most of the current League.
Here is a very skeletal, not very detailed timeline of the past.

Unhuman |
The pale form of Unhuman floats nearby, regarding Illusion with interest. 'Metahuman telepathy. Very fascinating. I feel as if we'll get along well, Miss Illusion. I'm curious, am I to call you my cousin? You're own father was my grandfather after all. ...In a sense.'
Here we go, all set I think! He ended up being more of a superman legacy character then a Martian Manhunter one, though I suppose it's a mix of both. This avatar is actually pretty close tow hat's needed, though it's eyes are yellow instead of red.
Kara "Imagine" Luthor |
@EVERYONE: Yes! =D Everyone, stop whatever dumb thing you're doing and look at Unhuman's character and background. That kind of thing, where you work your way into being tied to DC, is EXACTLY what we're trying to go for. I love love playing up my "Luthor" angle, and it really helps tie in your character to the ongoing story. Any effort spent in this direction will pay vast, vast dividends later. =)
@Uret & Rando: Imagine is not Isagoras. Indeed, she is the eact opposite. Isagoras is my SuperEgo. Imagine is my Id. ;-D
And it's Imagine. As in, "You can imagine asking me out," and "you can imagine me saying no, leaving you crying on the floor as you realize you'll never attain what you can't have," and "try to imagine being successful, 'cause, honey, that's as close as you're ever gonna come.'
Her full, ruby lips and perfect little hand blows you a kiss.
Sinter |
OK, updated Sinter. I changed the continuous burning touch power into an uncontrolled zero range blast since that is the only way for it to actually not cost a fortune. I'll assume the GM will allow the uncontrolled in this case to be 'always on' since permanent costs a fortune on that power.
Making the change allowed me to up my blast power substantially.
Unhuman |
Aw shucks Atlas, you're gonna make me blush. Just sorta went with my gut, ya know? Felt right. Also, I hope at least one of her cronies is named Bob, and they all secretly trade photos of their boss like some kinda fanclub.
He closes his eyes, and waves his left hand in a flourish. 'However it does please me so that you would have such a worry your own family. To offer a position most grand and respected. To walk freely through the halls of your building, the respect of my peers for partaking of a job most brutal and merciless. But no, I have done fine by my own wit, and your offer is unnecessary indeed. But I thank you nonetheless.'
He grins now, having lost his will to continue his poetic charade and speaks aloud. "Yes, I think we'll get along just fine."
GM SuperTumbler |
Unhuman: The background and complications stuff looks great. Haven't had time to think about the numbers.
Just as note, you guys don't have to kill all the heroes in your backstories. It is fine if they are still around.
Also, Supergirl is currently a member of the JL, but I wasn't doing anything with Megan or Connor, so that is all good.
Sinter |
Well it has been a while, so I'd have to look back. But iirc, there was something odd and involved, and it got tossed out and reset and we were back to pretty much normal superhero fare which suited me just fine. We were fighting a bunch of stuff in the ocean. I imagine that battle could be used to attrite the people who need to be removed from the game.
GM SuperTumbler |
So, if Robo, Shudder, Sundakan, Sinter, and Imagine all want to come back, why don't you guys head back over to Generations Discussion and fire that thing back up. I started this thinking that campaign was dead.
I'm super happy and excited to run both campaigns, but I think we have too many folks now for one.
GM SuperTumbler |
I'm proposing starting up the old game with the old crew, and this game with the new crew.
Unhuman, I'm going to look at your crunch today. Also, I will try to post a couple of sample villians today so you can see what kind of numbers you might be up against.
I know we have different levels of system mastery going on, and I don't want anyone to feel chumpy. It is cool, I think, to have a weak point, but you don't want it to be a weak point you didn't know about.
Also, I'm happy to let people adjust builds between encounters. I find that a lot of times you need some testing to see if your build actually does what you want the character to be able to do.
GM SuperTumbler |
For the game, I'll use builds from the old Atomic Think Tank boards, conversions from the DC Adventures 3rd edition book.
Here are some characters to compare your builds to. Black Adam would be a tough fight, something it would take some teamwork to take down, but not as big a deal as Doomsday or Darkseid.

Thanks! I wasn't sure how high to have the flight at, but 5 seemed fast enough for now. Yeah, his saves are rather on the low side, which I realized toward the end. A lot of points are taken up by his raw strength and constitution. I'm viewing most of his prominent weaknesses as being attributed to his own inexperience, things that he'll improve as he continues his hero work.
EmissaryOfTheNorth |
Emissary here, today I finish my five days long booze fueled trip to the Basque Country.
For those not spaniards and those who don't know what Basque Country is: the toughest m#~*%&*~*+*&s on Spain breed and grow here. So when I say booze fueled I really mean it.
Anyway, despite the hangover and addled mind I managed not only to come up with a concept I found appealing and fun to play, but also managed to stay in 180 points (first draft before downgrading was like 224 points) and even came up with a name.
I will only say until I have a computer and I can type everything nice and fine that Gigabyte "is" Cyborg's legacy... despite having never met him.
I introduced a couple ties with Wayne Enterprises and Nightwing, but they are mostly flavour and not something on which the character is based.
So that's it, tonight or tomorrow I'll have an alias, a mythweavers sheet and something solid to submit.
Good day to all of ye, good sirs!

I can make another character besides Sinter if you need more people for this one, or not at your preference. Don't want to hog your game spots.
I do like the superhero games though.
I'm going to see how the rest of these characters come in before I decide. I am intrigued by the story of this version of Batman, but I'm not sure this is the campaign where I want to build that story. I would really want to focus more on it than would be appropriate in a Justice League game.
Kyle 'Gigabyte' Knight |
Wait, drbuzzard is in too? Holy Molly, the world is small.
Anyway, here is Emissary's capey. Except he has no cape. Profile has the sheet for now, so Doctor Game Master can check it.
Before that, though, I do know his reflex save and defenses are... well, terrible. I picture Gigabyte more like a 'shrugs off the rocket' than a, dodger. Will save couls be improved, but couldn't afford it, so let's say he is now working on a Mental Capacitor to instal when finished.
I had to face the dreaded Professor Chores-From-A-Week, will update with background, description and complications later today.

Whoops, sorry Buzzard. Mixed you and Echos Myron.
