Journey to the East - Jade Regent (Inactive)

Game Master Severed Ronin

When a decades-old secret is exposed, an unassuming local tavern-owner and a close friend of the PCs discovers her birthright is to rule one of the ancient Dragon Empires of Tian Xia—the empire of Minkai. Yet the current ruler of this empire, the mysterious and increasingly cruel Jade Regent, has no intention of giving up his hold over the throne. In order to save Minkai from a would-be tyrant, the PCs must not only escort their friend from Varisia to Tian Xia, braving the frozen horrors of the Crown of the World, but must aid her in gaining the trust and support of a nation on the edge of anarchy.

Howdy, I'm Beazy and I'll be your supreme overdeity for this endeavor.

Opening this thread up for party discussion as well as for any questions you may have for me. I'd prefer if all non-specific out-of-character chat remains here, but I'm not strict about it. Those who've played with me before know that I'm fairly down-to-earth as both a GM and a person. That being said, I'll go over a few rules I have.

I ask that you remain civil to each other both in-game and out-of-character. I hope it's clear that I'm referring to no player-vs-player. Friendly competition and in-character rivalries are fine. I just mean that I have more than enough baddies to do the job of killing you that I don't need you trying to kill each other.

I don't expect you to be able to post twenty paragraphs every post, but please try to include at least one paragraph containing 3-5 sentences. This is a story after all. In addition, I don't expect you to be able to post twenty times a day. We all have busy schedules of some variety even if you think you don't. Just try to pop in a couple times a day and post at least once during that time. I'd prefer 2-3 posts a day, but I can't ask you to do something I myself have been held at fault for not doing. If you have to drop or will be absent for a bit, just let me know and I'll try to include your character in events and do it justice while you're away (if you allow me to). Otherwise, I can contact a backup to temporarily take your place. Communication is key.

Ultimately, though, we're here to tell a story. If you have questions, ask them. If you think I skirted, skipped, misunderstood, or completely failed at noting a rule, please let me know. I believe we have a few Society players, GMs, and even Venture-Officers in here (myself until recently included among the latter), so don't feel bad about saying, "Hey Beazy, I don't think that's right." If it's something I missed that I didn't notice, cool. If I did it purposefully, I'll just let you know there's a method to my madness. If you don't feel comfortable mentioning something or asking something to me in public, shoot me a PM. If I know the answer, I'll tell you. If I don't, I'll find out. I have a vast collection of resources to pool from, so I'll find it out.

With all that mess out of the way, thank you for choosing Jade Regent (specifically mine) as your choice of medium. In a week's time, I will make the first post in the gameplay thread. Until then, tweak your character as needed and try to psyche yourself up for the game. You lot have a long journey ahead of yourselves. I hope we have a good time together and let's do this!

GM Beazy, thank you very much for the selection. It was a joy bringing György to life. Your application guidelines really helped me to do that and I really look forward to exploring Jade Regent with György and all of you. I love playing divine characters or characters with faith as a major element of their persona. This was a first time for me with Desna and I learned a lot more about the goddess in the process. I think the major item I need to get squared away is equipment, so I'll see about getting that wrapped up over the next day or two so I'll be all set when you're ready to begin.

As I said, I truly enjoyed your submission. I'll admit both you and Toshiro were head-to-head for the cull, but agreed with Mukluk, one of our pre-existing players, that despite the vast similarities between you two, there were enough differences to make you a viable and effective team. I look forward to seeing what all of you bring to the table.

***RAWR!!!***

Fabric rips between sight, mind, and screen as Mukluk enters the thread through explosions of light and ripped fabric.

"I summon myself from the aether and into this thread! Let the circuits tremble and the pixels quake at my coming!"

Mukluk dusts himself off from the bits of alternate reality and unformed chaos from his naked body. He then slices through he silver cord attached at the waist.

"Jade Regent, eh? I shall ponder the depths of my black soul and darkest intents for a character worthy of this group."

Mukluk draws a large stone from the aether and places it near him. Mukluk dusts off the rock, has a sit, and begins to ponder. His chin rests upon this clenched fist and that upon a bowed elbow upon knee.

The build I have, the character/personality is still forming. I know it will be a creation of blood and suffering, but his voice is not yet fully known to me.

Hail and well met, Gyorgy, Corvus, Toshiro (who I know already), and Treygan. I look forward to this. Hopefully, Jean will be along shortly.

I'd just like to thank...

I'll post so thi g more eloquent later. I was really nervous checking the recruitment thread this morning - more so than any other application. Corvus has already become real to me and to kill her off before I got to live her story would have been devastating.

Thanks (understated but so genuinely felt)

Female Human Magus 4 - Init +2; Perception +2/+5*; AC 16, touch 12, flat-footed 14; hp 39; Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +4

I wanted to start with an apology - but decided better of it. You see I'm about to rant endlessly. The reason I'm not saying sorry is that it was you - yes you, GM Beazy - that inspired this outpouring. Not so much an acceptance speech as a necessary sharing of thoughts and emotions. If you need a hankie, I'm sure Mukluk has some spare ripped fabric he can let you have.

You'll notice I've changed my avatar for Corvus. You see, the other one simply wasn't her. And here my story starts...

My 'other' job is in HR and I get tired of the number of times I have to tell prospective job hunters the cardinal sin they commit when they send out their standard cv/resume. Yes it's quick to email/upload - and that allows you to apply for 20 jobs an hour - but as a recipient of such a document, I know it's your standard, unmodified, unthought of resume. There is nothing that says to me you've thought about my company, or the role, and made sure that you're telling me why you'd be a good fit. Which means you're not that fussed about working for me, you just want a job. Any job.

Some organisations won't accept standard resumes. They insist on you filling out application forms and make you write answers to questions - the sort of questions that make you think. Questions that start with why or how. Why? (Did you see what I did there) Because it puts off people who just want to send you their uploaded resume. The people that can be bothered to spend an hour (and then some) filling out that form really want to work for you - or really want that job.

Where am I going with this. Am I going anywhere? Why is he rambling now? Oh yes...this recruitment process put me in mind of that sort of job-hunting. It's easy to plug in HeroLab and cut and paste some crunch. It's even easier to present 'one I made earlier but can tweak if I'm accepted.'

This process made me think long and hard about the character. I started with an idea and I worked on it and worked on it until I had something substantial. I cared about Corvus - enought to be devastated if she didn't make the cut. When I opened my Paizo account this morning and didn't see a PM, I feared the worse. It made being turned down by that girl from the hockey many years ago quite bearable by comparison.

Imagine my elation when I saw I was selected. You see, I'm already attached to Corvus so much that I knew her picture was wrong. None of the avatar options are right, but I've picked one as close as I can get what I have in my mind's eye.

As a player, it can take me a while to get into character in PbP as I need to think through motive, character and personality past the two or three bulet-points I had in mind initially. This time round, I already know what she'll say in any given situation. Sure she'll change - I expect her to have a story-arc through the levels - but circumstance will alter her, not me changing my mind about her personality.

So, as I wrap up (actually this is longer than an acceptance speech) I would genunely like to thank GM Beazy. Not only for choosing Corvus (he chose her not me I believe) but for making me think long and hard about how I create characters for subsequent games.

And in closing, I'd like to thank...

Thank you very much for sharing that, Corvus. For all of you, I thought long and hard. The decisions weren't made lightly and there are still a couple back in recruitment that I wish I could've included as well. I set out to hire a specific number of people, however, and that's what I did. You lot are the ones that made me actually sit there and think abou the characters.

You see, I tried running Jade Regent once before as a home game. When we got past some of the fluff and crunch at the beginning and started along the area where I knew the real roleplaying would begin, it fell through. Only two of the five players showed even the slightest inkling of interest. We were traveling across the known world and visiting all these small villages and lakes and passing monuments. As someone who was away from home for far too long a couple times (former military, deployed twice) it made me think what the whole point of reaching a destination is of you can't enjoy the journey. This was a road trip after all.

So when I set up this recruitment thread, I wanted to find those I knew that would be willing to share in the experience with not just me but their fellow party members. I spoke with Jean earlier (your sixth who just got back from vacation this weekend and is currently working - he'll be with y'all as soon as he can) and he explained to me how his character would be. I told him that I hoped to see his character's outlook on the world blossom into something more. I wanted people with passion. If your character needed adjustment, we could work on that. I don't mind helping others.

Now, we're all here. In a week I'll make the first post in gameplay and I hope we carry this on for awhile. I hope you all will push me as I hope to push you to better posts and better roleplaying. It's a collective effort here, so we'll see how this goes.

Very well said Corvus! I find that I very much prefer challenging application processes like this one. I do the same thing. I tweak and tweak and build the character slowly and worry that the GM will close the deadline early because I often get them done within an hour or two of the deadline. But the end result is well worth it.

Funny that I share your frustration about the avatar. Usually the avatar isn't too hard for me. I usually find one that is damn close. Not this time. Finding the combo of tattoos, happy expression, and a Varisian look proved to be impossible so I wound up going with one out of the three and imagining that the furrows on his brow are part of a tattoo.

I'd like to say thank you for this opportunity, GM Beazy! And happy to join the rest of you!!

Normally I'm wary of reading people's backgrounds because I'd rather learn things through the course of the game, but in this case I would think several of us may have well grown up together. So I figured I'd ask how others would prefer to go about it? Treygan's background is fairly open for the most part. Just figured best to find out what we know about each other.

Mukluk jumps off his rock, his face full of heady excitement of discovery. He summons paper, a hammer, and an anvil from the aether of creation. He addresses the hammer in the dwarven style, then addresses the anvil, placing the paper thereon.

He begins to pound the paper, creating statements of word out of force of will (and a hammer).

History:

His parents never thought he would have much of a life when he was born. He was the 4th son in the family...and only a distant 3rd cousin to the leadership of Clan Highforge. Despite the royal connections, Mukluk's family ran nothing more than a simple horse and mule stable.

That family business has never held much interest to Mukluk...sure, he wanted to do his family proud, but his quick wits and active interest in the world lead to a fair amount of wanderlust.

When he was old enough to argue for himself, Mukluk began to volunteer for more and more caravans...to more and more exotic locales. On one caravan (about 25 years ago), he met his new old friend, Niska. Her influence gave Mukluk the courage to follow his dreams: dreams of travel and seeing more of the world.

Once Mukluk started his feet moving, he has rarely stayed in one place for too long. He loves moving from place to place, learning as he goes.

Someday, he knows he'll have to return home and take care of the family business. Or help the Clan retake one of the storied dwarven skyholds of yore. However, until that time, he looks forward to his next trip with his every breath.

Personality and Appearance:

Mukluk is gregarious for a dwarf. In fact, he's downright personable when it comes to talking to others...after all, that's the best way to learn new things about cultures and people.

When you combine his agile mind, his history and travels, and his experience, Mukluk is (at least in his own opinion) a terrific traveling companion. If someone asks about his travels, he'll tell them all about where he's been and what he's done. (See ongoing chronology.)

Mukluk likes to wear travelers cloak (blue with white trim, the color of his clan) around his leather armor, a small buckler on his left arm, and has a spellpouch and dagger at his belt. On his left hip, he wears a special cold iron heavy pick: a gift from his father when he set out on his first caravan. He calls it The Trepanator. A wooden holy symbol (more of a beloved reminder of his fondness for Desna than an actively used religious item) hangs around his neck.

Mukluk has little pride in his beard and he keeps it of acceptable medium length. He wishes he could shave it off, but realizes that his Clan (and other dwarves) might not take him seriously if he did. Mukluk has golden hair (and beard) and brown eyes.

I'm going to keep polishing that, but wanted to get some thoughts out.

Yes, it would be very natural for us to know one another. György, Treygan, Corvus, and Toshiro growing up together in Sandpoint. Especially considering György's crush on Ameiko while Corvus and Toshiro are some of her best friends. György and Mukluk may very well have traveled together.

Probably a good item for us all to work on over the next week to stitch our stories together a bit more.

I can see Mukluk being an 'outsider'...not necessarily of Sandpoint, but a regular visitor on his caravan travels, Gyorgy.

I'll send you a PM tomorrow with some ideas.

If anyone else wants to find/create a connection, let me know.

The outsider remains standing in the darkened corner, watching this crowd and the doorway... Pulled low over his face is a wide brimmed hat with only long golden tresses and a thin, elfin pointed chin visible.

This is an interesting crowd. I've been told they are good folk, but can I trust them? Better to stay here, safe, and let them possibly approach me...unless I must?

I started reading through some backgrounds (going against my normal sense, lol), and was actually working on some connections from what I've read. These are only suggestion, please feel free to suggest your own.

From what I've read of yours, Mukluk, the most obvious connection between you and Treygan would be the journey to temple where Treygan was trained in the priesthood. I left that part open enough that he may well have recently returned to Sandpoint, perhaps you traveling with him during that time on the journey, or on the way to temple (or both). Treygan is a fairly amiable sort, which it looks like you share such traits. One important thing that stuck out at me about the idea is that Treygan really only has the one experience of leaving Sandpoint. Someone inciting wanderlust into him, helping to push him onward for such a journey, would be a great story element. Perhaps you sharing some of your tales with Treygan on the journey back to Sandpoint would help cement that point.

Looking at other backgrounds, the next apparent link I saw for Treygan would be with Corvus. If Hemlock trained you, it's quite possible Treygan and Corvus would know each other fairly well, with Treygan serving in the militia. Heck, Treygan might've been one of the kids daring you. Figured run it by you first before expanding further.

Needing sleep soon, so will try to look at some more suggestions tomorrow afternoon.

Keep up the good work, kids. I'll keep writing things to kill you... I mean, challenge you!

If anyone has any questions, ask away here or in PM. If you really got to get ahold of me, check my main profile for my email. The only emails that get sent to that specific address are Pathfinder-related ones from Paizo and my players.

I’ve read through the other characters and posts and would like to confirm/add to what’s gone before with regards who knows who and why.

Mukluk
My first thought is that you’d be someone that Corvus would find both intimidating and entrancing. His age means she will have seen him from being very young and as an outsider and a dwarf, he would have seemed mysterious and unapproachable (unless someone dared her to tug his beard of course). As she grew up, I can see her showing more and more of an interest in him. What made him scary now makes him interesting. Corvus’ love of adventure would be fuelled by his stories and no doubt he’s added to her knowledge of dungeoneering, the arcane and planes.

Treygan
I can see lots of links here. It’s a small town and if they’re roughly the same age, it makes perfect sense they’ve known each other most of their lives. That link would have strengthened through Hemlock’s training – you must have seen her spar with him at dawn.
I really like the idea that you were one of the kids that pushed Corvus to go out that night. You could be the one that tipped the sheriff off?

György
I see the least links with György – but that’s not a bad thing. He’s been away from Sandpoint for a lot of his life. He’s the kid that was always quiet around Ameiko.

Toshiro
Like Mukluk, I see Corvus having a mixed reaction to Toshiro. On one hand, he seems like an authority figure – on another he’s someone that helps out in the tavern. Again, his wisdom and age are things that would attract Corvus – he must have so many stories to tell.

Jean
Early days but I can’t see an obvious link as yet.

Nicknames
I’ve been toying with the idea that Corvus would definitely have nick-names for some of the above. And some they might even know about. I certainly can’t see her calling Treygan by his full name. One or two might be cruel? For example, despite his confidence away from Ameiko, the fact he’s shy around her (and Corvus is her friend), he could be Gawky. And if he is, she’s bound to slip up at some point of course.
Corvus may well be known as magpie. It’s a link to her name and the black and white reflects her mixed personality. Plus she will have a natural curiosity for new (shiny) things.

Female Human Magus 4 - Init +2; Perception +2/+5*; AC 16, touch 12, flat-footed 14; hp 39; Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +4

I'm tweaking as suggested - and doing the shopping of course. I presume we start NOT planning to go on an adventure - so I don't need to buy provisions just yet.
I'm also reviewing my spells. If anyone has any strong opinions or suggestions, I'm open to input. Trey (that's the name I've decided on for present) might have an idea as we may well have fought goblins side by side before and my magic could complement his fighting style.

{HP36/36 | AC16 T10 FF16 CMD17 | F/R/W 9/4/7 | Inish +0, Per +0}

All sounds good to me, Corvus! And Treygan tipping off the sherrif has merit as an idea. Pushing you into going, then feeling guilty about it and getting Hemlock would fit Treygan's character. Also besides Trey as a nickname, snitch might be another to use after that, especially when upset with him.

I could also see Treygan being a little jealous of Corvus's fighting style. He definitely fits the 'brute' type of character, but his attempt to emulate after Shalelu was difficult, considering his lack of grace. If I had added more to the story, that's one area I'd like to hit on, the moment Treygan gave up becoming a graceful fighter and accepted a style more fitting a blacksmith's son.

For a link between Corvus, Treygan and György (I'll apologize now, but there's a good chance I'll forget to change the o often). It looks like he may have been a couple years older than Corvus and Treygan (looking at the slightly older than Ameiko part), so possibly the older kid in the group of friends? Alternatively a bully as a reflection of the distance enforced between him and Ameiko by Lonjiku, taken out on Ameiko's friend who isn't under the same restriction. György's return to Sandpoint (possibly about the time Mukluk and Treygan come back) is a time of mending those painful times. Finding Desna would be a great way to start that mending afterall!

Gotta get back to work, but thoughts?

Okay, so I have some things I'd like to bring up crunch-wise that I'm hoping won't turn anyone off to continuing to play. If so, just let me know and We can plan accordingly. This gives me time to contact stand-bys or whatnot. During prep I was looking over some things and got to thinking about others, so I wanted to run it by all of you.

Would anyone be opposed to running stats with 20-Pt Buy? Now, I know what you're thinking, but please hear me out. Running the numbers, the adventure path is created with four players in mind. Currently I'm running with six. In addition, the plan is to focus more on roleplay than rollplay. I know crunch is nice. I'm a Captain Crunch-type of guy myself sometimes, but it'll be easier to modify the AP if I have a standard to go by. I am not looking to punish you by taking away the hard-earned bonus package you each received. I did make promises and I intend to keep them, but I think I'll have to do that another way.

In the end, my recruitment system rewarding roleplay is nice, but I think I may have to limit it to home games of mine.

So, I'm going to be pulling it all back to 20-Pt Buy. Again, if there are objections, let me know as I appreciate your input. I hate to recruit and then go back on my word, but this is something I feel will make it easier on me as a GM.

Thank y'all for everything and your continued support of this. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

I'm fine with 20 point buy...I was feeling pretty ridiculous with 25 points.

And totally: we're 6 players and the AP is mostly built for 4 players at 15 or 20 point buys. I would regret the amount of bumping of encounters and skills checks work you'd have to do to make it reasonable.

For me, I could go down to 15 and still have fun rocking this thing.

Male Human Sensei

Ditto! I'm a big sucker for low-powered games, so I'm happy with 20, or even 15. :)

I'm happy to pull my stats back too. I'll work on it over the next day or so. I won't change who Corvus is, just some of the skill levels.

Male Half Elf (Elf) 3 Rogue (Swashbuckler)/ 1 Ranger

I too will debuff.

Thanks crew! I know it's a bit of a letdown (especially for Corvus and her 80-Pt Buy - Just kidding.) but it makes thing easier on me. Highly appreciated.

{HP36/36 | AC16 T10 FF16 CMD17 | F/R/W 9/4/7 | Inish +0, Per +0}

Looks like I'm late to this one, but I also agree to the 20 point buy.

Thanks Treygan. Appreciated nonetheless. This is one of those things I hate doing post-recruitment. Honestly it irks me a bit to have done it.

No problem. I'll rearrange the build over the next couple days. Do you mind Intelligence being low? Will probably go from 18-16-14-11-15-12 to 16-14-14-8-14-12, but I have to make sure that's still going to be enough skill points to get to Tattooed Mystic.

On the other thoughts, its probably better to think of György as strangely shy around Ameiko versus quiet in general. It probably depends how perceptive (in the sense motive way more than the perception way) Treygan and Corvus are for them to have interpreted why (his crush on Ameiko) versus just occasionally being quieter than his usual outgoing self.

I think one of the older kids in a group of friends is definitely the right way to look at György. He has been away (a lot), but I also see Sandpoint as a frequent stop for the Varisian caravans (since the main run has to be Korvosa to Riddleport), so he's been back plenty of times since leaving. I did consider having him be in town during the goblin attack at the Swallowtail Festival, but decided it was better for him to have been away during that particular unpleasantness.

Mukluk intimidating? Bah!

He is an 'outsider' to Sandpoint, so maybe there is some awe there, but can't imagine it's much.

If Corvus was brave enough to talk to Mukluk, Mukluk will probably remember her and talking to her. I'll leave that up to you. He would probably as interested in what she knew as vice versa.

Anyone who ever said it's better to have loved and lost never had to give up my dice rolls for a 25-point buy. ;p

Anyway, the crunch is amended and shopping is pretty much done. I'll probably tweak the spells one last time before we start.

Mukluk - to a little girl, an outsider dwarf would have been initially intimidating. And then it hit me - I'd chosen Dwarf as a language. So who would be the obvious person to have taught Corvus that?

And György, I had him pegged as generally confident but shy around Ameiko. And girls are definitely more perceptive than boys in this regard.

I seriously can't wait to start this thing!

Honestly it saves me some time and makes my character building easier! I was already sitting at 20 point buy, and was trying to decide if I wanted to take a risk and roll or go with a 25 point buy, and if point buy where to put them. Still need to redo my equipment though with max gold.

If you are residents of Sandpoint, then it is very likely you've heard Toshiro ramble about one of his many stories, about traveling Varisia in caravans, spending his youth in an Irori monastery, and so on. And yes, he tends to talk a bit too much.

Mukluk jumps off is rock, the heady rush of a goal in his mind. He is clearly excited about something.

"I think I got this, I do. I am what I am, I know that now," Mukluk says while dismissing the anvil, hammer, and rock. "I know now. I KNOW NOW!" Mukluk's assertion of knowledge reverberates off the unlimited walls of the discussion thread and come pounding back to his ears.

Mukluk stomps around the thread, conjuring item after item and stuffing it into a backpack.

"Yes, I'll need this! And this! AND THIS!" Soon his backpack is nearly full and pauses to count the accumulated travel gear. "Yes, that's good enough. Enough of that...now for the fun stuff."

He conjures leather armor out of the air and dons it, strapping a buckler to his belt where he can get it easily. He creates a marvelous cold iron heavy pick from the air and gives is a kiss. "Ah...my Ttrepanator. You're a sweet beauty, you are." He places the pick into a loop at his belt.

He looks over the rest of the assorted heroitia, scum, and villainy in the OOC.

He draws his pick and bangs it against his buckler three times, each a bit louder.

"I'm ready. Let's rock this thing." He awaits transport to the gameplay thread, eagerly looking forward to seeing Sandpoint and his old (and new) friends again.

Hey All-- I got my final build done...I'll be sending it to GM Beazy tonight. I'm excited about it. In the meantime, I have two nice connections (Gyorgy and Corvus) which I'm happy with...I didn't want to force much more. I look forward to this.

Toshiro eyes the dwarf and bows graciously.

"Ah, well met. You seem very eager, but for what, I do not know. But remember the old teachings of Irori: you must first find whichever way the wind blows, before you are able to blow whichever way like the wind."

I will post later tonight. Today's hectic and my workload is taxing

Mukluk nods back to the human, uncertain how what to make of the man's words.

"...so if I want to fart with the wind, I should find out where it is, huh? Good advice." Mukluk licks his finger, tests the winds, and turns to face into the wind, a pleased look overtakes his features for several seconds.

Alrighty. Now that we've managed to get settled and start the caravan moving, I'd like to keep the pace. I know my posts were few and far between every now and again and try still may be, but always count on knowing I'm lurking. My hope here is that of I'm absent for a day or two (y'know, say, moving and training at a new job), that we can keep the pace going with y'all talking amongst yourselves and traveling on.

We're doing good now, but we don't want to get complacent. I'm loving the roleplaying and it's time I pick up the pace myself. With all of this in mind, I'd like to hope for a 2-3 times a day posting if you can. If this turns out not to work well, we'll have to resort to 1-2/day posts, but I'd like to avoid that if we can. I know most folk are busy on the weekends, so I expect 1-2 posts a day at those times. We all have lives. Don't let those slip out of your grip over a PBP. If you're going to be absent for a day or so, try to let me know. PM works fine or shoot me an email at pathfinder.beasley@gmail.com.

Also, as I promised a map, here we go. I emailed the proprietor of this game to obtain permission to use his posted copy as I don't have a Photobucket or anything of the sort. This was easier to do on-the-fly as well. Please refrain from accessing other areas of the site as it could spoil the adventure.

Your party will be entering through the northernmost route. Walthus is known to have a hut near the third river crossing heading south from your current location.

+1 to this, GM Beazy.

I'm happy to pick up the pace. Happy to post more, currently hoping that Gyorgy and Treygan respond to recent openings. Toshiro has left several hooks that could be picked upon. I'll post more as others do.

Let's rock this thing, peeps.

It might be hard for me to get another post in until tomorrow afternoon, just an FYI. Out of town for a meeting this week, and they've been keeping us busy with team building.

I'll pop back in shortly and also should be able to pick up the pace.

That's not a problem. We're moving slow and you're only seeing a little intervention from me but my reasoning for little intervention currently is to encourage party interaction. Spoiler alert, but later in the AP there's quite a bit of overland travel. We're still getting a gauge on our pacing and all, but were also doing good.

Thanks for the heads-up from y'all though.

Not a problem, Beazy. I think that's logical. The only suggestion/recommendation I might make is when a player makes a skill check of some sort to advance things forward. It helps to know if it was a success or a failure, so the character (and the rest of the party) know how to properly respond to that in their next post. Just my two cents though.

Appreciate the help. Thanks. I don't mind two cents or more if you feel it necessary.

Just to say that after today (my time) my posting will be sporadic for the next three days. Saturday and Sunday are always my slowest days – I tend to post mostly in the evenings.

Monday is my wife’s birthday, so expect zero posts and then I’m full steam ahead again from Tuesday morning. Thanks for your patience.

Not a problem. I expect as much on the weekends. Thanks for the heads up and happy birthday to the wifey.

Male Human Sensei

Ditto. My posting is always hit-and-miss on the weekends, just as a heads-up.
