I know posting on multiple story threads can get confusing for the reader (and poster), so in other pbps, we've put branch storylines in spoilers. All the spoilers for a particular arc have the same name, making it easy to open all the related spoilers and get a cohesive (if not coherent) story.
Can't remember if that's the convention in this game.
No worries, Rags. If Danny ever starts to make sense, then I'll worry. :P

In the interest of alcohol accuracy, I have rescured the remains of my Scotch from my old place. There isn't much left. After only 2 fingers in an old fashioned glass, I'm having a bit of difficulty functioning. That's with dinner and no injuries and being around twice Sal's size and no prior bottle of wine.
Pretty certain that in real world, she would be boneless by now.
The things I do for Art.

Really?
You might want to get started. I mean preparing at least. ;)
We are nowhere near as 'ready' as we usually are. And I don't mean (only) with the presents. We have our tree and some lights up, but we haven't even set up our nativity scene yet. :P
Just. Too. Stinking. Busy.
Happy Holidays to all! ;)

Wow. I can feel the not-love for Mannheim Steamroller's Christmasville album all the way over here! ;P
It's 2am here, and I JUST finished making and ordering my Aunt's Christmas gift. (A Shutterfly photo album to thank her for proving me the means to take the family on vacate to Florida Universal this Thanksgiving)
So, I'm goin' to bed. Yeah.
Night,....

OK, Obviously I need to check the news more often.
I drove up to Oklahoma Sunday, through rain almost the ENTIRE way, (Which is why I left EARLY, so I could drive in rain in the daylight instead of at night) And woke up this morning to it snowing here.
(SO glad I drove yesterday!) Watching snow fall from inside a nice house is so much nicer than watching it fall while driving in it. :)
But this is the first I've heard of Goliath. :/
I hope my house is ok. :)
But we're all fine, thanks!
Stay Dry DSX!
I'll be back next week, and we can resume our usual insanity. :)
(Or start without me, and i'll catch up!) :D
Happy New Year all!

While looking to see if Tripp's place is flooded, I found this little photo essay of a walk in the area in case you're interesting in seeing the grounds and foundations of the old hall.

We're in a weird place, being at altitude and very dry. If the snow is light and the day is sunny, the snow cover simply sublimates. Doesn't even bother melting. The joke around here is to never buy a house with a north-facing driveway, because you'll actually have to shovel.
Sadly, they apply similar logic to streets, which can be a mess for weeks because nobody plows. That's fine if you're in a 4x4, but my poor little car slides all over. Still, this is the best place I've ever been. Better tons of snow than none at all, and people here greet snow with joy.

I took some liberties with Kenneth in that post, which I don't like to do. Feel free to break in anywhere if Kenneth would IC do something. Just quote what you want to keep and delete the rest, and we'll proceed from there as if it hadn't happened.
I really don't like to bot other players, but, you know, drama. :)
Ragadolf |
Lol,
Does that make you the 'Drama Mama'?
Just kidding! (Mostly!) ;P
Hey, I am, by nature, very un-serious in most of my life.
Writing, parts I've played,... etc. I just don't do serious very well. :/
Actually, I lied. I do it just fine. I just don't LIKE it very much! ;)
And to see it done well, and in a few lines (as opposed to my usual multiple pages of text) THAT'S drama!
:)
Besides, you didn't Bot Kenneth, you just wrote out what a nervous, scared, interested, etc person would do.
Whether Kenneth lets her, or interrupts (whether for yae or nae, for his own purposes or to protect her in a moment he might think she is vulnerable,...)
Oooo! Double-Drama! NOW I want to know what happens next!
(I'm such a voyeur) ;P
Did I mention that I, personally, have led a very boring life? (Mostly).
BUT, I make up for it by having friends who lead lives I would be embarrassed to rent! :D
Well done Treppa and Tilnar. Thank you. ;)

Glad to see everyone jumping in again!
I wasn't worried about having done anything to Kenneth, per se; it was simply a rather long scene for no reaction. I wanted Tilnar to know that I'm not so in love with my own prose that it must stand as written because it is perfect. Change what needs to change to fit the character. The fun thing about RPGs is running a real, autonomous person, and I didn't want to take that away from anyone.
I'm curious to see what happens, too. That's the other (OK, another) fun thing about RPGs: events don't play out the way you envision because everyone else has different ideas. It's more interesting than writing solo. It's kind of like a tennis game: hit this post over the net and see what the other player does with it.
I'm getting into this style of revealing inner thoughts, partly for the color and partly because it forces other players to consider in- vs out-of- character knowledge, muah-hah. And, of course, nothing can be easy for heroes. Theirs is not a tranquil lot.
Funny how after a crisis, strong emotions come kicking in at the most inopportune times.

*crawls out of his hole in the ground*
Hello! I just wanted to pop in again and say that I've been keeping up with this. It's like reading something straight out of a novel! I mean, I haven't sat down to read a good book in months, but I think I still know what it's like. :P
Also, some belated season's greetings to everyone!
*crawls back into his hole and covers it with leaves*

Happy new year! Can't wait to get you in the game. And, uh...
...I haven't sat down to read a good book in months...
Don't you work in a library?
ARgh, sorry so long a post.
Hope it says SOME of what I was thinking.I really need to learn to choose my words carefully. Instead of just using them ALL!
Why? I worry about my posts being too terse. Remember, if you write professionally, you get paid by the word.

Don't remind me. :P
I bought the newest Jim Butcher book, and it's just been sitting there on my shelf staring at me for months. I just have trouble investing myself in unfamiliar characters, I guess. I know this because Peace Talks will probably be read the day it comes out.
