This is the ONE series that I started out buying in paperback, Got to the first dozen, then went back and bought the ENTIRE series in hardback from the Sci-Fi Book Club. And have been keeping up with hardback ever since.

As much as I love it, and consider it money well spent, I'm NOT certain that I would spend the money to buy them AGAIN in E-format.
Audio books now,... still considering that option. Especially seeing that some are read by James Marsters of Buffy fame. ;D
This talk of books reminds me that I'm just going to be taking a couple of paperbacks when I go on holiday to France on Saturday. Not sure if I'll have any internet - thus hopefully I can leave it at a point where you can discuss & have some fun interplay. Then come back with a bang.

Then people talk about papers and I don't... and having been a grad student, the talk of papers now scares me even more because I have flashbacks to grading them.
You can tell the profs don't do the grading since they hand those assignments out so readily. Let the grad asses do it. *shakefist*

Now that Rags is back, it's my turn.
I just got a call from the nice people who's cottage I'll be renting over the next 2 weeks informing me that the internet connection to the place is currently flaked out.
Originally, I'd not mentionned the upcoming absence because I thought I'd be able to get on once per day (but later, after the country air causes the wife to get all sleepy), but now I'm not so sure what my connectivity will be like.... and it may depend on whether or not there's decent cell service out there.
Anyhow, bottom line: I will not be able to post reliably from Sunday (the 8) until Sunday the 22nd. Again, I apologize for springing this on people, but it's a somewhat unexpected turn of events. Feel free to DMPC Kenneth -- or have him walk out of scene to take Laura somewhere safe and then try to talk to the council (in the form of Laetitia, I'd imagine). [I'd say he could mix more potions, but he's not used the current ones -- though something to protect against the Poppy King's aura might be useful...]

The one that stands out most right now is that Kassil's Saturday night Eclipse Phase game was epic. We ended up with 10 people, which even in a horror scenario, actually made it feasible to split up.
We were all living and working on the edge of Sol system, in a little space station attached to a massive radio antenna array. And now we woke up in sickbay: in our backup bodies, with a 2-week hole in our memory (since we backed ourselves up prior to going out to assist a ship which had been experiencing trouble with its fusion plant), with the wifi that normally connects to our brains being actively jammed, and with only a recorded message from the station AI asking us to show up at the server room and implement repairs ASAP.
As soon as we left sickbay we found that just about all of the station maintenance bots were doing various things to try to kill us, personally.
Then it got worse! :D
Wow. That does sound epic!
And awesome-er than the usual movie drek we get lately.
They should make THAT into a movie! :)

My hardest part will be when I am feeling better and go back to work. I have to remember NOT to do ANYthing for 6 six weeks.
I did not enjoy this so much that I care to repeat the experience. ;P
(Sigh) If I NEVER have another surgery, it will be too soon! ;)

Holes in the stomach hurt. I found a lap chole to be incredibly debilitating. I went in feeling fine and could barely walk 50' without my knees giving out an hour afterwards. It's amazing how every fricking part of your body connects with the ab muscles, even toes.

It's amazing how much you do NOT realize how much you use something, until you can't!
At least this one was a LOT smaller than the last time. (Repair belly button vs go in and remove kidney tumor) But takes almost as much healing time.
Huh, I don't understand my body as well as I thought I did, I guess. ;P
