I agree that would likely be too powerful, but I'm also trying to make things make sense... I suppose I could make an item that was a block-type shield (personal), since Kenneth's rote spell isn't -- but even so, it's just duplicating things I've already got, which I'm not super fond of..
I wouldn't mind figuring out a way to have an item that would keep sustaining (and maybe enhancing) Kenneth's armour rote -- but that doesn't seem to stay well within the rules, sadly. (You'd think that it would be easier to make an item that works with spells than one that duplicates or goes outside the spell -- or to make a single-spell focus...)
Now, having said that, I can't say that I mind the idea of gaining inhuman toughness -- but (again), I think that tends to be something that's a mite better as a potion.
I suppose I could always just make that open focus slot be 4 more potion slots and go all the way on that... but that seems pretty crazy too.
I'll keep thinking about it -- something that's not imbalancing will pop up eventually -- (like the social defense spell)
All good ideas Tilnar. (And near-immunity is never a bad idea, when facing vamps and such! You read what the cursed werewolf did to an entire police station!?!) ;)
I'm sure you'll figure it out. It's not like we have dozens of games, movies and books to gather ideas from or anything,... ;P
Tilnar, I don't mind sliding outside of the rules :)
So long as it seems reasonable, a limited high Armour could work, especially since something mundane like Kelvar could be Armour:2
Alternatively we could put a catch to the stacking, something for how when the fires flicker across the Armour (making it 5 for 2 rounds/passes) it gains a catch (water/ice)? Or something like that.
The Poppy Court is squarely in Sal's wheelhouse, so the current storyline is pushing all her buttons. It can't get much rougher than this for her, thank goodness.
She is looking forward to being able to shoot stuff.

No problem, DSX -- life gets in the way sometimes, and it certainly seems we have a good and dedicated group. (Thanksgiving for me was more than a month ago, though. :P )
Physical OXOOOO Mental OO Social OOOO; 3 fate points
Indeed, we Americans have to be different. We gather to celebrate the Pilgrim's flight from religion persecution to becoming religious persecutors, and the Native Americans' kindness in not killing them. Which ultimately led to the white men wiping them out later.
Lol!
I actually liked the scene in last nights Sleepy Hollow
(I don't normally like 'horror' shows, but this is just enough of a cop show with a healthy dose of Supernatural flavor to make it fun.)
Spoiler:
Icabod Crane was complaining loudly to his policewoman partner about how this Thanksgiving celebration was all wrong.
'The original settlers didn't have enough sugar to make a sauce, much less a pie! And venison, not turkey was served! They would have been grateful indeed for a half-starved pheasant to come running by!'
I know, right?
:)
Danny's just glad to have another guy there to even out the table. Otherwise he's feeling fairly certain that the ladies WOULD gang up on him.
And almost certainly not in the way that he thinks he'd like,...
:)

Well, as soon as he's done with this bit, Kenneth will (as he said), call Danny about Laura's suggestion, then head home to make some potions -- at this point, he's pretty much given up on sleep (so Yay! for Inhuman Recovery!) -- but the others likely need to nap before our "date" at 4pm.
No worries,
Story-wise it's all cool and good. And interesting. :)
I've learned a little bit about Laverna, what was happening at the 'lab', and about Ken's sister as well! A good use of time I would say. :)
I just didn't want to miss something 'important' at the meeting site stake out. Or rush before we all were ready. But I don't to be the one who drags us to a slow stop either. ;P
If we could get an in-game 'clue' that there's 'nothing more to see here', then we could move on to the 'napping and prepping' part. :)
I'm also getting the impression that Laverna hasn't gotten (much) time in the real world before. I'm wondering what SHE thinks might be fun to try on this trip.
I'd Lol if it turns out she really just wants to go to Disney World. :)
I did some accounting and I think Sal took the potion around 0230 that morning, at the wolf den. She should be good for 24 hours after that; another 16-17 hours.
We do more before breakfast than most people do all month!
I don't see any need to narrate/RP Sal and Tangris' shopping trip and scouting project, so I'm happy to skip to the 2 p.m. meeting at York Minster whenever it's convenient. I think Danny and Morien may have things to do before then. I'm content to wait.
I wish we could do sub-threads in pbps. I think the pmg has said he wants to do that, so parties can split into their own separate play threads and still remain attached to the main one, but he has other fish to fry before he gets there.
Male Warrior-Bard of Old; Herald of Brigid Stress: P: OOOO M:OOOO S:OOO; Fate Points: 3;
If the timing works out -- I'd originally expected that I'd have to miss a "scene" to mix things, and so Kenneth would be out of play until that meeting had already gotten underway -- though meeting up early with Laura would certainly work.
Been a busier (than expected) holiday. Be traveling for a week. Will check in and catch up as possible. After a week should be back to normal. (Whatever that is)
Between a week of influenza and an excruciating 24 hours of gastroenteritis, I haven't had a lot of energy for posting. With any luck, all that is in the rear view mirror now and we can all get back to it in the new year.
Hope everyone's holidays have been wonderful and that 2014 is auspicious for all!
Wow, I sort of thought it was a bit of a myth - the X-Mas slow down of games. But, mea-culpa, time to get this show back on the road.
PS. Played the new Eldrich Horror twice, a simplified version of Akham Horror. It's an improvement, certainly it's not quicker and it's begging for a few card expansions. However it's significantly more stream-lined with players having something to do each turn.
Yep, I'm amazed how much I dislike typing on a laptop or wireless keyboard at home. Anyway, there will be a post today where I'll reintroduce everyone and get you guys on the road to the next scenes.
Other Kentucky Derby (Species: Human) Expert 4 / Generalist 1
I thought I'd have a break once I was in Washington state - ski in the afternoon, post in the evenings. But, no. There's no snow, and so much family stuff to try and wedge in. @_@
Morien is sleeping in the car, (or 'communing') whilst the Fey Lady Laverna is having a shopping spree with Lycius. And they won't be part of any overt action against the Vampires.
Sorry for any delays on my part.
Been busy, and this week I've been loading in Flight equipment and doing fly training for next weeks Tarzan Jr (the musical) :)
