I kept having cool ideas only to see others had already done them...because of that I decided to build a submissions list for myself to see what was lacking...

Having done the work I might as well share the results.

If you have applied but don't see yourself on the list or if you don't agree with where I put you or the comments I made let me know and I can post a revision.

Now to figure out what I want to submit.

Yarosh will become a melee bard.

I'm have an idea I'm turning over in my head. If it fully forms in time, I'll get it together and submit. It's an ifrit, probably a fighter, but maybe a bloodrager or some other melee type.

Question: their "fire affinity" racial ability, you think it's reasonable to let that apply to Bloodrager bloodlines in addition to sorcerors'?

I have the crunch built for Unit 4 Alpha (aka U4A). I currently have him using the Cyber-Soldier Archetype...but please let me know if we won't be finding to much opportunity to be using Cybertech & Magitech...wouldn't want to lose those class features and not be able to capitalize on their replacements. Just don't know enough about the AP to know if it is a good call or not.

If Cyber-Soldier is not a viable option will probably go with Tower Shield Specialist instead. Unless someone has a recommendation for a better one for my concept.

In combat the idea of the character is battlefield control the old-fashioned and messy way. He is starting with Improved Disarm...I see him getting improved trip next and then probably greater trip and greater disarm as they become available. Other fighter debuffs and forced movement as well...you get the idea.

I am thinking about fluff for the character now...should have that in the next couple of days.

In the mean time if you see anything not right with the crunch please let me know.

Seriously considering a Vanara, gonna work on it tomorrow.

Dark Archive

BC, there is tech in the campaign but is timeworn, not sure how that archetype interacts with timeworn tech.can't give to much away though.

Grand Lodge

As I'm fleshing out Nebraska here I've chosen to go with the Dungeon Rover Archetype. Debated dipping Rogue for a few levels but this gets her to the same end that she was looking for. Hope the rogues out there don't mind the skill overlap with Disable Device, Stealth, and Acrobatics!

Dark Archive

you know, the reason i picked an insane kobold shaman as a concept is so that we aren't all androids... because so far there are like four androids applying... more conspiracy i guess.

BONES!:
the robots will fall to the bones, the bones will always win...always!

it's also just to ad some variety. i'd rather go with at least one character that doesn't exploit the technology in the champagin

Strangely Takek finds himself liking this insane kobold shaman. Yes. Ro-Bots must fall.

I have undate Taket for the campaign rules and completed his background for consideration.

Dark Archive

OH, it appears BC4Realz didn't see that I'm a witch doctor of the bones spirit...

and i know that is a pretty strange combo, undead and healing... to be honest I'm focusing more on the witch doctor concept.

using the defensive capability of the bones spirit...

like the bone ward. just imagine bones fly off of Gringe and begin circling you defensively.

Sounds like I will want a different archetype then. I will peruse and choose later today.

@Gringe, when I next post I will correct your details on my list. Thank you for the clarification.

Still waiting if you're okay with ratfolk characters.

Dark Archive

No rat folk please, just the races I had listed

Okay. Thank you for letting me know!

(I wanted to put a flag in the ground for my character concept, so here I am. Names subject to change.)

Jack Sudholm is the adopted son of Victor Sudholm, the founder of "Sudholm's Scrappers." The Scrappers are a mix of adventuring group, salvage company, and craftsmen, who roam Numeria acquiring skymetals. When they have enough to make it worth their while, they head to the town of Torch, and use the facilities there to turn their scavengings into salable items.

As the years have gone on, Jack has started manifesting the ability to project and control fire. No one is completely sure how this happened, but the purple tint the flames sometimes have makes the Scrappers think that exposure to the Torch Hill's flame is somehow responsible. When the flame went out, Victor, realizing his livelihood was at stake, offered Jack's services to the town to better the chances of getting the fire lit again.

This would be a human pyrokineticist, setting foes on fire and all the hilarity that entails. Statblock to follow.

Switched U4A to the Tower Shield Specialist Archetype...it gets rid of bravery, which is no loss for an android...and helps make it possible for the towershield to actually be viable, at least once we get to level 5...until then I will be a tank that doesn't hit much. :D

Grand Lodge

Basically finished Nebraska Jones.

Background:

"A few years back Nebraska was with her Mother returning to a site they were forced to abandon due to regional war, research and all. The violence had passed a month later and on their way back they a tribe raided them at night. Nebraska was able to hide and evade the attack, but her Mother died in the slaughter along with the aides aides and other scholars. Over the next few weeks she lived off the land and traveled alone to the site. She was emotionally broken, in shock, and untrusting of all people. Though camping and hunting had always been a part of her life, perpetually moving from one dig site to another, Nebraska found she had an amazing knack at it. Especially when underground, growing up in cave systems and ruins gave her amazing intuition when moving through them.

Once she got to site she found it had been raided. Nebraska spent a long time there re-excavating alone and mapping the ruins system. Still, with a pathetic fraction of the information that had been raided or destroyed, Nebraska headed out alone to continue her Mother's research and avenge her pain on the tribes that had wronged her."

I'll probably tinker a little, add more detail to her like with the 5-minute background, but the changes/additions will not remove anything existing.

Loving all the creativity, just running low on martial classes I see

My initial plan had been for Jack to be a martial type, but then he started spewing fire...

All the better for me to have a chance to be selected. :)

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

I place rangers in the martial category, personally, though I can see how they could be classified as 'skilled'. I suppose they fall into both categories.

I'll throw my hat in the ring as a martial candidate. Truth be told I've been wanting to try out a whip-based swashbuckler since I saw the mysterious avenger.

History:
Cerran grew up in Torch under the shadow of the Technic League. His parents were early supporters of Kevoth-Kul. Though they were never particularly influential in the warlord's councils, they truly believed in his vision of Numeria as one of the great nations of the world. When he fell under the sway of the Technic League it was a bitter pill for them to swallow. They raised Cerran on tales of Kevoth-Kul's heroism and of the glory that had been stolen by the scheming technomancers that had stabbed him in the back.

When Cerran was a teenager his parents began actively agitating for a reduction in the tithes paid to the Technic League. They organized several prominent members of the local community. However, shortly before they were to commence negotiations with the league they both died in a suspicious mining accident.

Cerran took the lesson to heart: the Technic League could not be opposed by straightforward political action. He converted his inheritance into cash and disappeared into the city. He struck back at Technic League oppressors when the opportunity presented itself, but always in disguise. So far that has amounted to little more than harassing tithe collectors.

Personality:
As a result of his upbringing and his parent's death Cerran has become somewhat paranoid. He's prone to seeing Technic conspiracies behind every misfortune that befalls him. Also behind every misfortune that befalls the town of Torch. And every misfortune that befalls the country of Numeria. On the other hand, he tends to be overly trusting whenever he is dealing with somebody who he knows is not with the Technic League.

Cerran has been blessed with an easy charm that makes him hard to dislike. While his combat banter is not quite as clever as he thinks it is, the people of Torch are fond of him thanks to his obvious love for the city and, of course, his habit of harassing tithe collectors.

Cerran is unblooded and is generally opposed to the use of lethal force, at least against those who he considers to be misguided victims of the Technic League.

Liberty's Edge

Starfinder Superscriber

I'll create an alias if accepted into the game.

My character is Fazzlebit, Gnome Alchemist and Tinkerer

Statblock:

Fazzlebit
M N Gnome Alchemist (Mindchemist) 1, Level 1, Init 2, HP 9/9, Speed 20
AC 13, Touch 13, Flat-footed 11, CMD 10, Fort 3, Ref 4, Will , CMB -2, Base Attack Bonus 0

Abilities Str 8, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 17, Wis 10, Cha 14
Condition None
Bombs: 1d6+3, DC 13, 4/4 remaining

Character sheet here

Full spreadsheet I use for building the character here

Background:

Fazzlebit grew up in the gnomish communities in Kyonin. As a young gnome, out exploring (as gnomes are wont to do), he stumbled across a very small nugget of a strange dull coppery metal that made him feel very odd when he held it. Taking it back to his community, an elder gnome identified it as a chunk of Horaculum, a very rare skymetal. Fazzlebit was hooked. How could just a tiny chunk of metal make one feel strange just by holding it? He started to become fascinated with skymetals, wanting to learn everything about it. He discovered that there were some nearby elven warriors who had expensive adamantine weapons, and learned of the ability of that metal to cut through objects with ease, and to give one a fighting chance against constructs.

Fazzlebit followed his curiosity, and learned of the Rain of Stars up in Numeria. As he grew older, he started to study the use of materials both common and rare, and how to mix such materials to produce near-arcane effects. However, he never gave up on his fascination with items of technology, and with the mystery of where they and where skymetals came from.

As a journeyman alchemist and tinkerer, Fazzlebit finally made his way to Numeria in order to study the results of the Rain of Stars first hand. Getting there, he learned of the oppressive presence of the Technic League, realizing it was something he did not want to get involved with. So, he opted not to live in Starfall. Hearing of the town of Torch, and given his fascination particularly with skymetals, he moved there. He now lives in the loft of a small house owned by an elderly Kellid woman. She, too, hates the Technic League, and while she is suspicious of all things technological, she tolerates them. She finds Fazzlebit amusing as he comes down bearing one or another mechanical gadget he's put together, wantingto show her with great enthusiasm what it does (which is very rarely anything practical). (She is quite fond of the small widget he created that he calls a "toaster" that is able to brown slices of bread.) Fazzlebit has also formed a friendship with a blacksmith who forges skymetal materials at the forge that gives the town of Torch its name. (GM: is there an NPC in Torch who would be particularly appropriate for this?)

Description:

Average size for a gnome, Fazzlebit has a shock of dark purple hair complete with excessive eyebrows that stick out off of the side of his head. He's usually dressed in an artisan's outfit, and typically has various components and gears falling out of his pockets, as if he had forgotten that he was in the process of building a costume for a steampunk convention.

Fazzlebit has an enthusiasm, and he likes to show it. He's fascinated by anything having to do with magic or the stars in general, but in particular by anything having to do with technology, the Rain of Stars, or the nature and history of the creatures who crashed in that event. He's even learned the language of the stars (which he knows is Androffan, but enjoys calling Startongue), and has begun to tinker with small bits of leftover technology.

A devoted follower of Brigh, he considers everything he builds a small offering to her -- or, at least, he considers the act of building it a sacrement to her.

He is paranoid about the technic league, and frequently looks over his
shoulder afraid that they are going to come and spirit him away as a
punishment for tinkering with technology.

His grand dream is to amass together enough Horaculum that he might build a time machine and witness the entire history of Golarion. (In reality, it's probably more likely to turn him into a Starfinder character who doesn't remember his childhood....)

so you need martial classes? no problem. I'll be right back with yet another subission I've already had two charicters on this board, what harm is a third?

Liberty's Edge

Sergant Dan reporting! I'm revising his stats, but I'm going gunslinger gun tank. blunderbuss and swords ho!

although I'd still like to use my Kobold over this serious guy...

Edit: gunslinger starting gold is 175, but your starting gold is 150... do i use your average gold or mine since it's higher?

Dark Archive

I'm retracting Dagori from submission, so that i don't clog up the list of choices with my three separate submissions.

Liberty's Edge

more with my last question, if i use your gold average, I'll basicaly spend 90% of my income on ammunition.

Baja1000 here, finally submitting my character, the tanky fighter 2.0 using the new armor and weapon books. Or will once I get high enough level. xD super tank good guy gnoll. For your consideration.

He's not finished yet and I will be doing a 10 minute backstory for him later tonight as well, but wanted to get his story and basic crunch submitted first.

Ten-Minute Backstory

Concept:

- Jakkur is of the clan Blighted Paw, led by his two brothers with his mother, the Blight Druid former matriach, still providing wisdom.
- He is a kind soul, who likes to protect. I was considering taking the overprotective drawback as well, and may pick it up at a later date as he gets closer to a group that respects him and see's the real him.
- A realtively clean and less gnarled gnoll, he was able to keep from getting maimed and scarred mostly from being cautious of those around him and quick with his shield.
- Despite being the runt of his litter, he and his brothers large builds for gnolls, the other two actually being flinds and Jakkur thinking he too is a flind despite his family insulting that he was the only one born a nothing.
- He can still fight like one of his savage people, but at his core he is caring and hates bullies. He's a bit naive and hopes others can have good in them.

Goals:

- His first goal is to find a family. Not like his own but as he has seen in creatures of the wilds or in human settlements. He regrets the raids on the families he had seen and wonders if he is worthy of such.
- Should his first goal succeed, he hopes to shed off his self-perceived and ingrained weakness. He hopes to bring out the flind he knows is in him and be strong enough to protect his new kin once he has them.

Secrets:

- Jakkur worries of gentle voices in his head, those that call to him to return to the ways of his clan. They goad him to prove his strength and to return to his clan once he has done so to challenge his brothers.
- Jakkur may hide the fact he hears voices now and then, but even he doesn't know this whispers are in fact his mother, attempting to goad him back to be killed. She sees the chance for him to redeem himself or die trying, either works for her.

Connections:

- Hakan: 'Eldest' brother of the three, the vicious and largest brother is also an Antipaladin of the mother of monsters. He is the one who wished to take control and despite being a brute has a sharp mind, even by flind standards.
- Yarrig: The next brother of the three, has become a Warpriest of Flauros to spread the destruction of fire. Has always been controlled and forced to obey by his larger brother, Hakan using his superior might to convince him to rebel and direct his fiery destruction.
- Blightpaw: Former matriarch of the clan, has taken back seat to her two impressive sons. She hates Jakkur the most and would love to see him dead, but she is also not a fool. She whispers thoughts of growing stronger and returning into his head, hoping to either see him die or hopefully even succeed as he would be easier to manipulate than her other sons.

Finished with his overall crunch too I believe. To keep up with his backstory I gave him Hide and wooden armor and shield to sorta make more sense to scavenge. As I said too after I've been with the group and if I get selected, I might also pick up overprotective as a drawback too. Not to gain another benefit, but rather another weakness he'd likely develop. Guess we'll see ^^

I'm going to throw my hat into the ring.

Background:

Orphaned at the age of 8 when agents of the Technic League confiscated a piece of technology that her father had scavenged from the Felldales, Valeria spent the next couple of years on the streets of Aaramor until one day when she came across a pair of agents of the Technic league, one of whom she recognized from that fateful night.
Picking up a discarded branch she followed the pair until they were alone. Unfortunately, her ill thought out attack resulted in little more than a bloodied nose for the unwitting agent. Chased by the agents and eventually the city guard Valeria managed to escape capture. Fearing what the league might do to one who assaulted their agents Valeria gathered up her meager belongings and fled the city into the dangerous Felldales.
Time passed and Valeria managed to eke out a living in the hostile environment trading what she could find for the things she needed to survive, until one day when she made a discovery that would change her life forever.
Within a pile of rubble she was scavenging she came across a battered and broken pistol. The damaged and dented thing was a thing of beauty to her eyes. She spent the next several weeks taking the weapon apart and learning how to rebuild it. This labor of love was so deep that she took to naming the gun Gilian, after her father. Once the pistol was restored she traded items that she found for the necessary black powder and bullets needed to make her pistol work. Once she had a rudimentary grasp of the techniques she soon began making her own shot for her gun. Through trial and error (many, many errors) she soon began making cartridges for her weapon, which could speed up her reload time.
One day, deep in the badlands, she came across an expedition led by an agent of the Technic League. Confronted by the man Valeria became afraid that the League had finally found her. When the agent, backed by his work gang of slaves, demanded Valeria’s gun in the same tone that the original agent had demanded the artifact from her father, her fear turned to anger as she gave the agent what he asked for, right between the eyes.
Shocked by what she had done Valeria stood motionless while the slave gang, suddenly freed from the agents control, scattered to the winds leaving Valeria alone in the wilderness. Fearing what the League would do to someone who killed one of their own Valeria began heading east, out of the Felldales. Travelling by night and avoiding the hazards and hostile tribes she soon passed through Kuratown and into the Numerian Plains.
She eventually made her way to the village of Torch when it’s fabled flame finally went out. Finding herself in civilization and short of cash she decides to take the town council up on its offer of a reward to find their missing Councilman. Now all she needs is a group of like-minded and fool hardy people to accompany her.

Even though you said no to my ratfolk idea, I'll still submit something. I just remembered that I have an android Druid.

Now the thing is it has a 3PP favored bonus feature, but it fits my character's theme.

This is SCKnightHero1 by the way. ;)

After having the night to think about it I've realized that I just have too much going on right now to get involved in another campaign so I'm going have to, regretfully, withdraw.

Isn't the recruitment closed as of last night?
