Jack Daniels' Dwarven Giantslayer AP (Inactive)

Game Master Jack Daniels

Welcome, let's try to make this an enjoyable experience for all. Please finalize your characters, equipment, etc. as needed, for my review. You can introduce each other, if you wish. As I stated, I have an alternate start in mind for this AP, so bear with me and I will try to keep it fun.

So whatever your characters were about to do (leave citadel/go search for missing family/seek vengeance/adventure/etc.), you were interrupted when you received by messenger a summons to meet at the private chambers of a local guard captain at noon. Out of respect, you decide to appear. With that in mind, you can post in the Gameplay thread.

Hello! My name's Nathan and I'm from western Canada. I'm in my early twenties with 3 years of Pathfinder experience. I DM both at the table and online, and I have never played/read the Giantslayer AP.

I plan to have Ingra be a caring but strong "mother bear" kind of character. She will be known for her Tender Loving Care. In combat she will be a Buffer/Healer, and out of combat she will likely be a moral guide for the party.

A question for the group is would anyone like to know Ingra ahead of time?

Anyways, I'm really happy to be here and I hope we get along well!

Hello everyone.

Varren reporting as ordered sir!

I'm not seeing a game play option to dot into though.

That will be up tomorrow. I wrote it at work but left it there. :)

Hey all looking forward to join you and start this adventure. I will create an alias and get Kurag up and ready. Like I mentioned in the recruitment thread I am looking at taking a level of rogue as well to help with trap finding. I just don't know exactly when to do so.

Thanks for the invite. Looking forward to adventuring through with you all.

We are doing in character introductions in the gameplay once we start?

I think Kurag is ready. Switched out 1 skill point for disable device and picked up thieves tools. Ready to go.

Kurag, if it makes it easier for your build Janek has disable, perception and trap finding.

Like Ingra, I had envisioned Jalnara to be fiercely protective and nurturing of the group. As far as her druidiness, Jalnara will mostly focus on spells during combat and perhaps once she gets access to wildshape she'll start wading into the front lines more. As I wasn't sure if we'd have a dedicated healer once the party was drafted, I'd built Jalnara with that capability in mind, but if Ingra's able to cover the healer-role more directly, I'll adjust Jalnara's daily spells to be a bit more offensive in focus. Though, as I hate the extra bookkeeping involved with summoning, I don't expect to be slinging summon nature's ally around all that much =P

As for me as a player, I'm on the East Coast of the US and I cut my teeth on AD&D back in the 90's. Been playing Pathfinder since it launched and have largely been scratching my gaming itch through pbp for the last several years.

In my minds eye, Varren has been a bit of an outsider since his parents died. He is usually a little apart and tends to listen rather than speak. Even in his training as a Paladin, stonelords are unique and there arent that many of them. So that feeling of isolation even if somewhat self imposed is something he will be dealing with. However once he warms the the group and feels to be apart of it he is ferociusly loyal.

Janek is a bit socially clueless and tends to focus on things and magic more than people, this makes him an odd one out in his merchant family. He takes pride in fixing things and setting things right, as part of the group he may not fit in straight away but will likely see the party as something that will fall under his need to help and keep whole.

Janek's spells tend to be of control, his skills give him full trap finding and his holy bloodline will give him some ability to aid on buffing/healing to a minor level.

I'm in Australia but tend to be on the internet most of the day and able to post daily. Ive been playing RPGs since the early 80s and quite a bit of Pathfinder over the last year or so.

It's looking like we've got a pretty spell-heavy group! =)

Gameplay thread is up

ThanksJanek. I didn't realize that you had those abilities. I haven't looked into many of the alternate rules much and was surprised to see a sorcerer with wisdom as the ability and an option for trap finding.

Wow this group is a bunch of loners ;p. Kurag falls into that group as well but mainly because he loves the outdoors and the freedom that entails. If others wish to travel with him and don't slow him down then he is great having them along. He likes to drink and socialize but not to excess.

Combat wise I am investing heavily in ranged combat and with the horse lord archetype will be using mounted archery as well hopefully to stay on the periphery moving while still firing with full attacks.

Not sure about the stonelord class but everyone will have spells available. Nice.

Happy Birthday by the way.

Thanks, had great time!

I have not abandoned ye. Just hard work week. Hope you are still interested.

Everyone still here?

I'm still kicking. I don't think Ingra would have much input for north or south, and I'd like to see what Jalnara's survival check yields.

Yup yup, I think we're waiting on the results of the survival check at this point.

Yep, still here checking in.

If homebrewing this stuff is too work-intensive, GM, I wouldn't mind rebooting things and just running through the first chapter of the AP as written if that'd be easier for you.

Just a thought.

Still here guys. I am just out of town for Labor Day weekend. I am really interested in game and not going to leave you. Tuesday this will pick up full throttle. Thank you for your patience,

Hey guys I hate doing this but I am not one to sit around and wait like this. Sorry for leaving and hope you guys get someone to replace me and pick up the game soon. No hard feelings but just not my style. Thanks for game while it lasted.

I second this motion. I had such great hopes...

Yeap, I'm going to step out as well, I think. Best of luck to you all and perhaps we'll cross paths again!

My life got unexpectedly busy after I initiated this campaign. My apologies to all but I cannot continue at this time.
