I'm headed to Florida; my mother-in-law is really sick. I'm not sure how long I'll be there, probably a week or a week and a half. I'm guessing I'll still be able to check online with some regularity, but if I'm not please DMPC to keep things moving.

Male Human Writer 2/Dreamer 7

Of course, we'll handle things as needed. Best wishes to her and the rest of your family.

Male Halfling Inquisitor 8

Best wishes, Mark

Taking a cue from several others PbP's, it would help me a lot if you would fill the "gender" field on your character sheet with updated basic stats (hp, AC, CMD, saves, perception, initiative etc.)

Have a look at Casimir here for an example.

Male Human Expert 5 (DM)

My well wishes, Mark.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. My mother-in-law passed away and the service is tomorrow. I'll be flying back to Seattle Saturday.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope she didn't suffer long.

Best regards

Male Human Writer 2/Dreamer 7

Sorry to hear that, Mark. My condolences to you and your family.

"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come." - Rabindranath Tagore.

I know it's not much consolation, but you have my condolences.

-James

Thank you James. I have been back in Seattle for a week now, trying to get life back to normal.

At the service, my wife read A Parable of Immortality by Henry van D&%&. The quote you spplied reminded me of it...

Spoiler:

I am standing by the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch
until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says, 'There she goes!
Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all.

She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the places of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
'There she goes! ' ,
there are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout :
'Here she comes!'

Beautiful poem and very fitting.

It is bad enough I have to wait until the adventure is over to read the spoilers between you and Neil, now I have to wait for the twist in the nixie conversation? You're killing me!

Figuratively, I hope.

Male Human Writer 2/Dreamer 7

Oh, I think you will find this worth the wait...

2 people marked this as a favorite.

It's gotta be bad karma to whack a Neil-Spicer-played NPC. Must...control...urge to kill....favored enemy....*grunt*

One of his favorite NPC's, by his own admission, no less...oh no..probably best not to harm her.

Then again...she's one injured fey against five armed and experienced adventurers. How dangerous could she possibly be?

*groan* Now you've done it; with that sort of provocation, we have to kill her ;-)

FYI: not posting in the IC thread as I want to let Taecuss respond before I do, but I'm still here and watching with great interest!

Really and truly, my intent wasn't to play Taecuss as comic relief.

Really.

Hi everyone: sorry for the slow posting, but I've been prepping for a trip. I'll be a week with uncertain internet starting tomorrow. I'll chime in if I can. Otherwise, Caelin will walk around feeling very uncomfortable in this gathering!

I'm definitely still here and enjoying the story. If the other players are perhaps thinking the gathering is Tae's arena and they need to take a backseat, maybe we can advance it more quickly. If it just a case of the early summer slowdown, then I am certainly happy to pick up the pace again when everyone is in a good place for it. That being said, for the next week and a half I'll be doing some traveling. I expect to have somewhat regular access to the internet, but please DMPC Taecuss if I am the only thing holding up progress.

I debated on that first round between Glitterdust and Haste. I suppose I made the wrong call; I was just thinking minions might join her and if I were to be one-shotted (like I pretty much was), I wanted to give that combat edge before I went down. Sorry guys.

Not to worry - I'll put you out of your misery shortly.

Had to edit my post to pay proper homage to the "1" on the Acrobatics check.

My 7th-level Elven Ranger just fell out of a tree!

You know, I've seen a lot of weird, expected things in my decades of RPG participation. That is definitely pretty high on the list. Its not even like it was for comic relief! At least, intentional comic relief. At least now Caelin can write it off as a bad, bad dream... :)

:-) Yeah, and leveling up makes everything better!

Hit die: 1d10 ⇒ 9

And it appears that the gods have felt my pain and been generous.

Male Human Writer 2/Dreamer 7

Sorry for the delay, I've been tying up loose ends at work before the holiday and we had guests over for dinner tonight.

Feel free to post a summery of you leveling in the OOC, but don't update your sheet until I give the ok. Either roll for HP or take the average, PFS style.

I expect the game to slow down a bit over the next couple of weeks due to the summer. I know Bruno is gone next week, and I'll be on holiday in Scotland July 21st-26th. We should be back to full speed by August 1st.

I'll post some IC reactions to your nasty dream tomorrow. Stay tuned.

hp 79/79, AC 24/19/15, CMD 29, F: +11, R: +14, W: +12, init: +5, per: +15 Elf Ranger Infiltrator

Sorry, updated my stuff before I saw your message. Still have my 7th-level character sheet handy, though. A couple of +1s here an there, not a biggy.

Have fun in Scotland! I go most years but not this one, I'm afraid.

So here's what I was looking at for level 8 for Taecuss.

Bard 8
Add 1 point to Charisma
+1 BAB, +1 Reflex save, +1 Will save.
Hit points, +
+10 skill points (Acrobatics, Bluff, Diplomacy, K: Arcana, Perception, Perform (sing), Stealth, Use Magic Device, Linguistics, K: Nature)
Add Dirge of Doom.
Add See Invisibility to spells known.

Storyteller extraordinaire

Looks good, Taecuss. Either roll for hp or add 5 hp + con modifier and update your sheet.

Male Half-Elf Fighter 1 / Rogue (Scout/Thug) 4 / Steel Falcon 2 / Chevalier 1

Here is a list of everything (non-healing related) that we have collected thus far:

MW Cold Iron Hand Axe (156)
MW Blacksmith's Tools (27.5)
66 pp
564 gp
1273 sp
two diamonds worth 250 gp each
a sapphire ring worth 500 gp
a pair of ruby earrings worth 250 gp
a carved ivory statuette of a rampant stag worth 135 gp
dust of dryness (425)
MW Longsword (157.5)
+1 Hand Axe (1153)
Potion of Cat's Grace (150)
Potion of Levitate (150)

Which comes to a total of: 4955.3gp

Split 5 ways, that comes to: 991.06gp each :-/

Male Half-Elf Fighter 1 / Rogue (Scout/Thug) 4 / Steel Falcon 2 / Chevalier 1

Level 8:

+1 level of Chevalier

+1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8hp

+1 BAB

+1 Fort, +1 Will

Skills: +1 Intimidate, +1 Perception, +3 Survival

Class Features: Aura of Courage, Recklessness

I am going to spend the meagre amount of money that I have recovered going from level 7 to level 8, purchasing a Cloak of Resistance+1 :-P

You certainly have a knack for picking obscure PrC's from Pre-Pathfinder sources, but I see no reason not to allow this. The class does require you to face a challenge of 3+ CR higher than you level, which you haven't really done in this module (not counting the nightmare), but we can easily hand-wave that you have faced such a callenge previously.

Don't forget you 8th level stat increase.

Oherwise, looks fine.

Regarding leveling, a Rocky-style leveling montage is always nice. Fell free to make up your own. Otherwise, i'll throw something together.

Meycho and Goodluck, waiting for your level up summary.

I'll get working and have it by Monday.

Okay,

+1 level of Oracle
+1d8 +1 +1 FC (I took the 5 hp route)
+1 BAB
+1 Will
Skills +1 Intimidate, Know Nature, Perception, Swim
Mystery Spell: Wall of Ice
New 4th Level Spell Learned: Holy Smite
New 0th Level Spell Learned: Mending
8th Level Stat Bump +1 Charisma

hp 79/79, AC 24/19/15, CMD 29, F: +11, R: +14, W: +12, init: +5, per: +15 Elf Ranger Infiltrator

Did this last week, but here's the summary.

+1 level of Ranger (infiltrator)
+1d10, rolled a 9 above, +1 FC
+1 BAB
+1 Fort and Reflex
Skills, 6+1 INT=7: Climb, Handle Animal, Intimidate, Knowledge Nature, Perception, Stealth, Survival
Class ability: Swift Tracker
Infiltrator Ability: Adaptation: Dragon Favored Enemy: Lunge
Adaptations now 80 minutes per day.
Stat bum: +1 Str

Male Halfling Inquisitor 8

Hi, Meycho is updated.

I couldn't access the site when I updated in HeroLab, so the summary is based on memory:

+1 lvl Inquisitor
+7 hp
+1 BAB
+1 Str

Learn Dispel Magic

Extra ranks and stuff...

Falling Star also updated.

Storyteller extraordinaire

Very nice - looks good, everybody.

Feel free to RP a bit about the nightmare and your training, and also any preperations you want to make before heading into the Fellnight Realm.

Would there be arcane scrolls available to us from the town? Specifically, I was looking for True Strike and Fly. If multiple copies were available, then I'd like as many as four True Strike and two Fly.

Storyteller extraordinaire

That's no problem, Taecuss. Multiple copies can easily be aquired within a day. Just subtract the gold and add them to your sheet.

The fey are also able to add enhancements to your weapons and armor if you wish and can afford it.

Goodluck would ask for 4 or as many potions of Bear's Endurance as the Druid could create. Also 3 potions of Resistance.

Storyteller extraordinaire

Creating a single potion of bear's endurance takes a full day, since the price is over 250 gp. He could make four potions of resistance in 8 hours, but Meycho has that orison, so it would probably be easier to just have him cast it on everyone.

Okay, sounds fine. If no one else has any potion requests, I'll go for a single Bear's Endurance potion.

Male Human Writer 2/Dreamer 7

Just a heads up, even though everyone look ready to go, I'll wait until after I return from Scotland to advance the story.

I'm also working on a little surprise I hope you'll like.

So keep checking in every couple of days, but don't expect any major developments before August 1st.

Male Halfling Inquisitor 8

Meycho asks the fey to enchant his elven armor...1.000 gp
