Sebastian Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Pass

Sebastian rips open the door to the study, his keen eyes adjusting easily to the dark.

A creature hauls itself through the smashed window, seemingly without regard for the shards of glass that bury themselves in what is left of its arms and belly. This walking corpse wears only a few soiled rags, its flesh rotting off its bones as it stumbles forward, arms outstretched.

Not enough actions to do so. Move action to open the door, can take another move action to get to it but that's all. You basically have a single move or standard action remaining.

Ikkaku and Cara both get out of bed, pick up a single weapon or item (your choice) and open their bedroom doors to investigate the commotion.

Davos begins to make his way down the stairs and for the first time sees the creature that used to be his friend.

Davos Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

The sight of the thing is just too much. Davos clamps his hand to his mouth but it isn’t enough to stop himself gagging and wretching – holding on to the banister to steady himself. Davos you are nauseated for 1 round.

Round 1 – Summary

The nightmarish creature looms before Markus. The priest is horrified and staggers back, falling to the ground at the nightmarish sight. Finding his steel, he channels a burst of positive energy and the flesh of the Professor-thing sizzles in its radiance.

It’s intestines writhe about by their own accord; reaching, grabbing, pulsating. A pair of them lash out like whips, one striking Markus across the chest like a wet slap.

Hearing the crash from next door and fearing more foes, Sebastian pulls open the door to the study and sees a corpse hauling itself through the broken window, groaning not in pain but hunger as it does so.

The others pull themselves from their beds and spring up to investigate the disturbance.

Round 2 – Enemy

1d9 ⇒ 8

Further smashing glass can be heard, this time in the library on the north-west side of the house.

The Professor seems to see Kendra at the top of the stairs and the disgusting animated entrails pull him along toward her. It steps over Markus and past Sebastian, calling her name over and over.

Sebastian may take an AOO on the Prof.

The creature in the study shambles toward Sebastian.

Cara, totally understand about weekends. I like to keep it moving than rather than pause as we did in JC's so I hope you don't mind if I DMPC on occasion. In this case though, that's a lot more actions than you could complete in one round unfortunately. You are on the top floor remember and I'm assuming your bedroom door is closed. I have no issue allowing the opening of a door part of a move action like drawing a weapon (there has been a ridiculous amount of talk offline about doors) but even then the furthest you would be is J7 having opened the second door. You may not realize that I link to the combat maps at the top of the page. I think I forgot to mention it so apologies for that.

I really hate to be anal about this because I let a lot of stuff go rather than get hung up on it but the positioning of people in this particular combat is really important.

Sebastian. That thing didn't have to shuffle far so you can't get a sense of how quick it can move. Also, just to clarify, are you continuing to attack the professor with your flurry?

Liberty's Edge

Ikkaku is in M0. I gave him a double move, he failed his save upon seeing the professor and stumbled a couple more steps. Olav is in L3. Jon is in M3. I put you in L1.

Sebastian, it is a standard action to escape a grapple so unless you are using a hero point you can't trip as well. That's probably a good thing in this case as you would provoke an attack of opportunity.

Round 3 - Summary

Cara, Ikkaku and Jon make it down the stairs and see Sebastian and Markus hard pressed by what looks at first glance like a horde of undead. Girding their loins, Jon and Cara grit their teeth at the sight of the disgusting thing that used to be their friend but Ikkaku stumbles against the wall in a fit of retching.

Sebastian wrenches the intestine out of his throat and slips it's grip, sucking in great gasps of air.

Markus continues barraging the undead with waves of energy but is now faced by a ravenous zombie bearing down on him.

Markus again dodges the clumsy attack from the zombie knowing in his bed robe that If he gets hit he's going down. Looking over to the monk getting beat on. "Sebastian how are you doing? I can't get past the help the others!" He then lets forth another wave of light this time more lighter pulse that does not stop at the zombie but washes over Sebastian.

If this is how you want me to go Desna at least let these people live.

Liberty's Edge

Davos - factored it in. Don't make me guess what spell you're casting though :p

Liberty's Edge

Sebastian you will provoke two attacks of opportunity for that movement so I assume you will use acrobatics to avoid them.

Seb, acro: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Seb, acro: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Provokes AOO from Prof
Seb, acro: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Prof, entrail, AOO, Sebastian: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Hit
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

What movement? The kick was my AOO for the Prof leaving my threatened square wasn't it?

Sebastian whirls on the Zombie that bit him and strikes it twice, aiming for it's neck and head.

1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16
1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20

Dam1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Dam1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

HP:5 (or 1 depending on that AOO decision)

Liberty's Edge

Sebastian – quite right, my mistake.

Ikakku rounds the corner, sword raised, ready to cut down the thing that he once called friend. As he approaches, one of the intestines snakes out again.

Prof, entrail, AOO, Ikkaku: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Prof, entrail, AOO, Ikkaku, confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Prof, entrail, grab, Ikkaku: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Success

The entrail forces it's way down Ikkaku's throat, causing him to claw desperately at his neck, his eyes wide in shock and revulsion.

Ikkaku Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Round 4 – Summary

Cara’s voice rings out loud and clear, steadying the nerves of those around her.

Markus continues to fight desperately, healing his companion who rounds on the zombie and delivers two crushing blows. His fists pound against the damp, bloated flesh and he can tell it isn’t having the effect it would on a living opponent.

Davos and Jon fires more spells at the professor who continues his inexorable progress toward Kendra, almost crushing the life out of Olav before the nimble sorcerer can escape.

Round 5 – Enemy

The professor continues to move toward kendra, rounding the corner and now standing before Cara, Ikkaku hanging from the entrail like a fish on a hook.

Instinctively, Kendra backs away further up the stairs.

Ikkaku HP = 5/15

Sebastian tries a different tack. He attempts to spin the zombie around so he can apply a choke hold on it. thus thing is soft. If I can get behind ut, with enough leverage, maybe I can pull its head off.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Grapple 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
