Flying high in the air, still feeling the maggots crawl over him he shouts out a spell as he pulls out a small golden chain.

In an instant, it glows purple and unfurls as Markus flicks it out wrapping around the worm that walks.

There isn't much to know. You can't determine what type or level spellcaster it is which is the biggest issue here.


The golden chain lashes out and seeks to wrap around the walking worm but it simply slips off it's shoulders in the same way as the maggots did so from Jon.

I only asked as I had hoped I'd know if that would work or not and I guess I didn't know.


As far as I know there is no way to determine active spells on someone unless they have an obvious visible effect like Stoneskin or you see the spell being cast.

Erek flails at the Worm but his mighty blows do nothing but tear at illusory images that disappear like smoke.

Meanwhile Davos levels his wand and covers the Worm in a thick rime of ice that forms solidly around it trapping it in place.

The Worm currently has the helpless condition. However, it is important to note that since it is immune to critical hits, it is also immune to a coup de grace

Sorry I thought it was rounds per level.

Ok so let's deal with the other pressing issue for a moment and come back to it. Morbar didn't remove the grub but dealt 1d6 ⇒ 6 damage to himself.

Markus - you know that it deals 1d6 points of damage oer round the grub has been inside the host or that Remove Disease will kill it instantly.

In round 3, Morbar takes another 1d2 ⇒ 2 points of constitution damage and it is the first opportunity Markus has to treat the grub.

Remove Disease is fine. If not, it will take 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds to remove the armour around Morbar's leg giving you enough access to cut the grub out.

Because Markus used Remove Disease, the only penalties are from the two rounds of con damage which will be healed in 6 rounds following the Lesser Restoration wand

Morbar shoves the double doors roughly and opens them onto a bizarre and Hellish sight.

Black flames lick the walls of this huge ceremonial chamber. Three giant statues of Urgathoa loom threateningly over stone pews and a processional leading to a black altar atop a raised natural outcropping.

A dark pit boiling over with foul necrotic energy gapes at the far end of the room, and a writhing humanoid form hangs stretched over the well, stout chains tethered to each of its limbs.

In an instant you recognise her. Drawn, paler than even she was the last time you saw her, but no less beautiful - the woman suspended over the pit is Kendra.

And yet sat on the pews, and milling listlessly around the room, are other humanoids that look exactly the same as Kendra. There are more than a dozen of them, each completely indistinguishable from the other.

At the centre of the throng is a tall, thin man dressed head to toe in black. Black robes draped over it's black breastplate, skull-like face looking out from below a black hood.


Just pausing here for reaction. If anyone makes to move into the room or cast a spell, I will roll initiative

With that he speaks loud and clear. "I judge the foul one. Iomadae grants me her strength to destroy you utterly. You will blight this world no more."

Markus clenches his teeth also breaking them as he sees her, Kendra after so long shes here.

Ignoring Erak he steps forward his voice almost leaving him. "Kendra!" He shouts hoping to get something back to see if shes alive if it's her just something. "Kendra we came!"[ He then face turns again he almost snarls at the black-robed man. "Who are you! What is this place, I give you one warning you give us Kendra and we will leave. We're here for our friend."

Jon moves into the room with the others, grim and deternined.
He looks around at the multiple copies of Kendra and he can feel the cold anger churning in his stomach like a serpent.
if Kendra lives, she is the one above the pit....these others, they are not her. They can't be. he pulses this thought to the group whatever happens, that bastard in the robe goes down first. We hit him with everything we have Jon also pulses this last thought and he waits to see what happens next


The man in the robes is not Adivion - it is definitely not alive.

As for Kendra, she looks different. Drawn and tired-looking, pale and her hair is streaked with a sweep of white.

With a glance, all of the different Kendras are exactly alike and indistinguishable from the next. There are lots of ways this could be done, too numerous to list really, so you may need to determine which - if any - of these Kendras are real
