Mercy:

[quote+ GM Mercy]Tyrus is advised by several people that there are many common diseases and sickness that are easily caught by those wandering through the jungle. Blood-sucking insects, spore-clouds released by nearby plants, even occasionally the damp miasma of the jungle itself can hide dangers. He is shown how to create a stock of preventatives for many of them, though the ingredients are somewhat pricey. Tyrus can create preventatives for simple disease for the cost of 1 silver per person per week.

Is it okay to have done this? 5 silver worth.

Timm:

About 20 feet. I'm only requiring the single check.

Again the creatures moves ahead of the ground, inspecting the ground, the surrounding treetrunks, and peering intently into the canopy before returning.

Aklo, Luca:

Ah, right. Couldn't remember which one at the time and was too lazy to check.

"Two creatures. Predators. Waiting to ambush from above."

Tyrus:

Yep, that's fine. Go ahead and deduct the silver from your total. Mechanically it will mean you guys simple aren't making a fair number of the Fort checks you might otherwise have needed.

Kienyach/All:

You definitely brought climbing gear, however the sides of the valley aren't firm enough to use most of it and thus the circumstance bonus will not apply. However, you also have plenty of rope - hemp rope, let's say 100 ft of it at least.

The climbing kit won't help us climb? That's disappointing.

To clarify, Fluffy said the creatures are in the trees, but still ahead of you on the the path - they are not directly above you in the current location.

Timm:

The valley to the west runs along the same route and through the same terrain as the one you are currently in and is just as good of a route to your destination. however, to the east the land's natural shape and the steadily rising foothills of the nearby mountains moves you away from the Temple area unless you want to start doing some serious climbing and moving over other difficult terrain.

"We could bait them into attacking something else." Dante makes an odd hand sign, speaking its name in the tongue of magic, and calls forth dancing orbs of light. They expand and diffuse, forming a vaguely humanoid form. "I can make it flow forward but it really depends on the intelligence of what is ahead. I wouldn't mind seeing what you guys can do but avoiding them altogether is also an option."

Dancing Lights can create a "vaguely humanoid shape". It might fool a stupid animal. Not sure if it can be used as an illusion but if so, I think it would be DC 13.

Timm guards the map and gets ready again, thinking about the alternates. He blinks slowly as he sees his companions trying some strategies to deal with the danger above, even though he's not sure they're trying to ambush them on the climbing or at some other point of the journey.

Don't forget to take a rope so we can follow, Kien. - he says, anticipating to the half-elf climb.

With Timm's reminder, Kienyach ties the lead of a rope around his waist and begins his ascent.

Mudslide on 1: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Careful to avoid the places where the moss-and-moisture covered hillside looks loose, Kienyach is able to gain the top without incident.

Dante:

I've always liked the idea of "coordinated casting" though I'm not sure what I'd want to use for that... concentration check? Spellcraft check? Hmm. Anyone else seen rules for similar ideas?

Kien looks back over the ledge, nodding an all clear. He grips the rope with both hands and sets his feet. "Ready when you are. One at a time."

Tyrus' gaze searches the surrounds. 'Let a few others go up before I try to move my bulk.' he strategizes 'In the meantime, I need to make sure I don't get ambush by those predators Luca talked about.'

"Well done." he calls out weakly when Kienyach makes the ascent 'And that's something that would have been a real problem for us. Looks like we were wise in getting additional help.'

Luca stepped forward when Kien asked for others. Given her, well, lack of body size, there was no question that she was the lightest member of the group and would be that much easier to raise. Her Eidolon was no good at climbing, but it would be easy enough to simply dismiss and re-summon it once she was at the top.

As soon as she noticed the Eidolon's activity and heard the rustling in the bushes, the light in Luca's eyes dimmed... and she clapped her hands together, sending a wave of magic through their campsite. "EveRYboDy uP! oRcS!" Another voice - deeper than her own - seemed to be speaking at the same time as she was, its voice overlapping hers as magic was channeled through the area. She jumped back a moment later to get closer to the others, even as her Eidolon remained out in front as a distraction.

Dante didn't respond too quickly to the ambush. He sits up quickly but his head spun from the shift in blood. Then a strange magic washes over him, giving him clarity and concentration. He hopes to his feet, staring confused as shadows move in slowly the dark. They resolve themselves into orcs and the slowness must be because of his own speed. He unsheathes his black blade, tossing the sheath to the ground, and holds up his arm as if carrying a shield. In the interest of honesty, I should note that Luca and Tyrus aren't Hasted - she can only target 1 person/level, after all. XD Four's her limit right now, and the ones she did target seemed to need it more.

As the attacks rained down - and fortunately weren't too accurate - Luca's gaze dimmed again, as 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Vilstraks erupted up from the ground and swung at an orc right to the north of Luca's position.

To, alas, no particular effect other than being a sudden wall of bodies that would hopefully distract the orcs for a little bit. With that done, Luca wasted no time running to the south and trying to use the foliage as cover. She was terrible at defending herself, and quite frankly, had no business being anywhere near a melee if she could avoid it.

Her Eidolon, meanwhile, continued to serve as a 'forward' of sorts to help distract the attackers as Luca hid.

Orc 7 Fort v Boneshaker: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Fluffy manages to avoid every attack that comes its way, even a flying net trying to ensnare it - until an orc dares to get in close and thrust home a spear. The alien creature gives a strange scream as black-blue blood spurts forth from the wound.

The orc who attempts to attack Timm is entirely confounded by the divinely-strengthened defenses of the drecna.

One orc, seeing Luca and Tyrus flee behind the bushes, moves to intercept them.

Kienyach takes 11 damage. Fluffy takes 12 damage. Orc 7 dead.

Luca's vilstraks appear from a warp in the air, ready to join the fray on the side of their mistress. Their swinging fists, however, do not manage to land a blow on the surprised orc.

Timm swings twice at the Orc in front of him, but he's so drunk of hatred that his attacks come out without much precision.

You will all drop like flies, bunch of disgusting orcs! I am Utenvari, tremble before the might of the free Drecna! - he provokes the ones near him.

@GM: Sorry for bothering, but I still can't move Timm on the board. Thanks!

Wait, how'd the orc deal double damage...?

With her Eidolon out, Luca couldn't continue calling reinforcements to the battlefield - not until the existing Vilstraks were gone, anyway. That didn't really solve the issue of the orc approaching from close to her, though, and Luca took off running to get out of the way.

The Vilstraks, meanwhile, each stepped five feet south - one to flank with Timm and attack his target, the other to fight the one they'd been striking at before.

As that happened, however, Luca glanced back towards the orc that had been after her... and her eyes briefly flashed in an angry glare. The Void REALLY didn't like things that were rushing in at her... and was all too ready to make that foe in particular suffer.

Evertything moving his direction seemed to be handled. And Kien should be able to see his two foes. He was a half-elf. The one to the side concerned him but he placed his faith in Tyrus and Luca for handle it. So Dante, instead, turns north. He snaps his fingers four times and launches several brightly, glowing orbs to the north, shedding light on their enemies.

Cast Dancing Lights. Four orbs all within 20 feet of each other. Making a line. Two edges are at the center of the two big circles on the map. Everything in them is normal light and 20' outside that is dim.

Kienyach: Apologies, I must have forgotten to correct the map when i caught my mistake. Yes, that orc is dead already and is also not adjacent to you. Fixing now. Also will be assigning your respective tokens.

Desperately Tyrus wished he had Luca's ability to summon guardians. Struck by inspiration he used the lull in the battle to do his best to attune his senses to the proto-life in his carry mug. 'My wife used to be able to do this with her damn songbird. Somehow you push through the link...' Tyrus cast a simple spell, pushing the effect through to Torble.
Distracted he stumbled towards Luca.

Torble will hold his action to charge any orcs coming within 5 ft.

Bah! I checked this game and realized my post had been eaten. My apologies.

Kien growls his approval as the enemy next to him falls, kicking him once viciously than moving back to be a wall between the enemy and their casters.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Non Lethal Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Making sure the unconscious one stays unconscious, than moving in front of the casters so the enemy have to go through Kien to get to them.

Outsider

Tyrus: I don't recall exactly what your daily buffs are (don't see the details in your profile) but unless they have a nearly 24 hour duration then yes, they'd have expired. You are only 2-3 hours before the start of the next day when you would normally recast them.

Luca: Oops, correct - I read the wrong number for Fluffy's damage. Should have been 6. Also, just realized that your Vilstrak's first blows should have come in this round as they are summoned in the following round by the full-round action. Will remember that in the future, but I'll give you these attacks for free.

Dante bathes the area in light, illuminating the orcs. Timm lashes out at the enemies of his people but the attackers - lankier than their cousins on Timm's home continent - managed to evade his flashing blades.

Luca's otherworldly minions continue to do their work 6 damage to Orc 1, 8 damage to Orc 3 as the Void turns her body to lock eyes with the pursuing orc.

Orc 2 Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11

It's eyes go wide, as if seeing beyond the world into planes containing horrors unknown. It staggers back from its pursuit, and cries out to its fellows.

Orcish:
"A devil-witch! The young one is a devil-witch!"

Kienyach ensures the downed orcs' continued oblivion with a kick and moves to put himself in front of the more vulnerable members. You should have control of yourself on Roll20 now. Could you move yourself to where you meant?

Orc 1 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Several more orcs rush to put down the various summoned creature, but - whether confounded by agility or stony skin - only one manages to land a blow. 6 damage to Vilstrak One. Likewise, Timm's divine armor protects him from harm.

6 damage to Vilstrak 1
