There is a teamwork feat that would let us all roll and take the highest.

Because I am cruel, and moreover because I am bad at planning, we will NOT be starting combat this week. I should have known not to promise that. I'm in a show that goes up this weekend, so I'll be spending all waking hours not spent at work in a theater. I figure we run to the left. Yes, it's not where we wanted to go, but running down and around that thing sounds like a very bad idea. Plus, this way it'll have to run into the fog to find us - we might be able to get around a corner, hide, and have it find a summon or something.

...We're a very, uh, bold group of individuals when faced with monsters. XD Although I agree that incorporeal (probably?) is pretty nasty at this level for almost every class.

I realised there was a chance we were not going to make it through this. If it can only close 40 ft/round, and Tyrus can get 100ft head start, it'll take a while - and the kids should be a good 100ft ahead.

Tyrus, as to your question on gaining some sort of status check on the Dreamer and how damaged/close to destruction it might be, I've been giving that thought myself. Because it is ethereal is shows no damage on its form, but I'm coming up with some kind of guidelines for how to handle this in the future. Also, when in doubt have your characters do a knowledge check! Impressive checks will usually glean some kind of info.

Well... some media show ghosts as more 'ragged', 'torn', or simply even less solid-looking when they're weak, so that's an option. Of course, I suppose all of those are 'visible', too... XD Maybe identifying something also lets us determine (from that point on) how strong its connection to the world is?

I was trying to come up with something a bit more flavorful than the same thing as corporeal creatures. The "become less solid looking" thing is close to what I was thinking. Flickering, becoming even less substantial, something like that. And probably later on (rather than the 50% mark I usually use for living creatures). Maybe at the 75-80% damage such a sign would show.... and pursuant to that idea, please see the gameplay post.

Also, as neither Dante nor Tyrus have posted an action for this round, I will delay further until at least one has.

Dante, I want to make sure I've got your armor class right in this instance. I didn't spot a post saying you've cast mage armor, so it should be 16, with 3 of that from armor. Technically, I don't think it matters even if you did cast Mage Armor, as the Dreamer's attacks ignore normal armor, thus making it hit you on an 18. But please do check my math, as this is a rather important roll.

Yes, but his AC with Mage Armor is 20 - and then it ignores the regular armor, for 17, meaning an 18 hits.

This was way harder than it should have been thanks to poor dice rolls. It's AC seems to be around 16 and that shouldn't have been so hard to hit. Tyrus still has a decent chunk of HP and Luca might survive a hit. So that's two, maybe three more attempts to just hit it. ANY amount of damage will do. The real problem will be how the fat, out-of-shape wizard manages to get all of us to a safe spot and efficiently heals us.

Yes. This is still very doable, thanks to your effective crit earlier on. I keep underestimated your alpha strike damage. That's gonna be crazy if you guys live to higher levels!

Also, you yourself have several chances to stabilize. If they can kill the creature Tyrus can probably easily stabilize you. Then, yes... getting to safety will be an issue. But first thing's first...

I thought Tyrus cast 2x mage armour (Luca, Tyrus) and then Cat's Grace on himself for the stealth checks. I must've dreamed posting that, though, because I can't see it.

Heal check is 1d20+14, +2 for the kit. Possibly a bonus for Torble. If he can make a check, it should make a difference.
Planning (A)Stabilization on Dante (B) Stabilization on Georgi (and muttered prayers) (C) Hide. (D) Heal survivors. (E) If Georgi is dead, going home. There are spells that can bring him back if we're fast enough. At a minimum we owe getting his body out of here before it reanimates.
