Ironclaw: The Will to Power
Game Master
UltraFennec
An Ironclaw: Squaring the Circle game set in the environs of Triskellian, with potential to expand further. Focused on the intrigue and violence surrounding the conflicts between the rising Guilds, with a lighthearted base tone.
Well we can run it like we have been and let people freely misinterpret your statements if you really want to keep Fencing. I'm cool with that. Or format your statements and then cut out words to make "halting" Calabrese.
Or just take the language Gift and I'll give you Fencing once we hit the Goal. Or vice versa. Either way it won't be a problem much longer! Your character build looks fine to me, fits the character and your previous statements.
I apologize, folks, I've had just a nasty bit of life come up and sock me between the eyes. The majority of it is over now. My posting will probably remain a bit irregular over the next week or so but after that things should settle down.
And in uvver news, replacement player six should be joining us soon, and can post here in Discussion whenever they feel like it!
Also, I swear we'll have combat soon, really! This would feel a lot shorter live I think, but I also tried to take time for social and mental activities first so everyone could get a feel for each other's characters and personalities.
So there'll be fighting soon...or not quite as soon depending on how this next bit goes.
Worry not, despite the fact that Ceallach is a combat character, I've actually enjoyed doing some pure roleplaying with him. It's helped me set his personality.
Typing this on my phone now that I found the website. :6
After all that, just as I got back, my computer has gone kaboom. I will be absentish probably the next several days until it is fixed except when my hubby is home and I can steal his work laptop.
On one hand you shouldn't worry too much because soonish our new player will arrive...but on the other hand it's hard to do introduction posts on a phone. HMMMMMMMM.
And this looks like a great opportunity for Javiera to suddenly be standing in front of the door ready to knock or barge in as per her appropriate idiom.
The door FROM an inn, actually. It's a bit weird since there wasn't anything spelled out about movement, but I figure it works best if the conversation was moving toward the inn's exit, and when Ceallach opened the front door Javiera was standing there about to enter.
Two jobs can be a backbreaker! Like Delroy said, hope you don't wear yourself out, and hopefully the lean times can be alleviated for all of us someday.
Doing my semi-regular check in thang. I know circumstances have prevented a few people from posting regularly, but I'd like to know what's up with everyone else too.
I am here but I can't think of anything in-character, I could break character I guess, but I would really rather not, I don't think it would help anyway.
Matter of fact, only three of us posted since the newcomer posted. But I have been inspired to move this forward but it still needs someone else to respond, Quinn has no idea where to go or who to talk to.
I can't really think of anything to say either.
A stranger whom I don't know has walked into an inn where I am currently at. There is no connection between us, no way to tell they are supposed to be part of the group, and nothing to indicate I should know her.
I don't know what to do.
And I gave Javiera that nice big spoiler full of reasons she would be helpful, nay indispensable to you guys. I'll have to ping her in her other game and see what's up. Although today's her birthday so we're not likely to see anything...maybe if I wheedle extra hard.
If nothing else I can jump the fast forward train if everyone's cool with assuming things happened and we just wanna get moving. Sorry about all dis.
Not your fault GM, I think there are plenty of things someone could say, I didn't only because Quinn is taking a wait and see "how the locals handle it" approach.
OK, finally got ahold of Javiera. Turns out she's been on a trip post-birthday, and will be back in the swing on Saturday. So she's not dead or a no-show, YEY!
Bear with me please, trying to hash out some world/RP details with Javiera so her entrance will go as smoothly as possible and work the way I intended it to.
And then soon there will be bandit fighting, and this adventure will finally be DONE.
Ah. Well...I'll remember that in future. I'm used to standard operating procedure being "if they don't say anything for a long time, they've probably dropped out."
Also used to players chiming in uselessly with their bit all the time too, so grain of salt.
Nonetheless, Javiera has attempted to engage the group (she has helpful info and connections), hopefully we can do this intro quickly and efficiently and fun-ly so I can move things right along.
Okay, I am glad i checked the game out, and actually went into the boards rather than rely in the activity notifications.
I'm still in. Catching up now.
Edit: Not much for Delroy to do/say, just yet, and I'm on a crappy laptop that registers about half the spaces I type, so when I get back in town, (out of state until late sunday) I'll try and get right back into the swing of things and try to figure out how to make the game notify me of activity again.
Well...if you hit the Focus button on the main messageboard page it should show you all threads you post in as long as there's been an update in the last two weeks or so
OTOH, sometimes nothing happens quickly, like now. Speaking of which, I'm still minus one response from Ms. de Vieuxpont on her status. This saddens me because I was having lots of fun playing her foil. As it is, we'll continue with whoever we've got.
EDIT: This means that people should probably think of ways they could respond to things that they might not normally react to, in the interest of game being...alive I guess?
Do I need to jumpstart anyone? Or perhaps offer a minor/medium/major incentive to keep posting? I like offering posting incentives.
How about everyone who gets us moving to the last scene of this shindig gets a HUGE chunk of XP?
The roll was for observing, to see if there were people waiting to ambush us. As for being the expected talker, That's no problem. Delroy was making sure he's not overstepping himself with the nobles around. If he's chosen as the spokesperson, that's fine by me. :)
Natalia is going to zap the poor rabbit unless someone stops her (grabbing her, etc).
She is a little sensitive about her lack of hight and femine curves, and the rabbit just set her off.
Of course, if you want to see our guide zapped, leave her alone.
UltraFennec,
Natalia isn't bothered by the lack of noble address, she does expect that.
But the remark about being a child, that is another story. There are some things that will set her off, and being called a child is one of them.
Was waiting on Ceallach to do something with the rabbit, but I think since he just had the spotlight a bit ago he'll forgive me for putting the next scene up tomorrow.
Just to warn people, we're most likely about to dish out some KOMBAT TIME here. Hopefully the scene I set will not be confusing, but mapping software and I don't seem to get along these days. I'll do my best to set a scene that is easily visualized but cool as well.
Also also, don't worry about people that haven't posted in a long time or anything. I've decided they probably didn't even end up in the Cutach with you through whatever vagary of chance came through the city, but I'm powering ahead with whoever keeps posting and thus displays interest. (Obviously I was in the "not posting" camp for awhile, and for which I'm sorry deeply, because I like this game.) So uh...just assume that Rosza and her gang are indisposed for whatever reason. And...possibly the Paladin who I can't seem to get ahold of.
