Fijit Doohickey |
I'm assuming 1st lvl for the wand's caster lvl
Fijit studies the small wand, sniffs it, bites it, and seemingly satisfied, casts CLW on Kaad and Relas.
Cure Light on Kaad: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Cure Light on Relas: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Fijit then looks into the new room for sinister technological traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Knowledge:Engineering: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Kaad |
Thanks Fijit. Kaad acknowledges the healing provided by Fijit. The wand gives him new confidence even though he gravely misses the leadership of Nashara. She seemed to always know what to do.
Trying to motivate the others, Kaad proclaims, It seems as if the lightning trap has been disabled. Let's push forward.
TheRiverOcean |
Fijit scours the room for traps and finds none. Jean informs the party that there seems to be another door in this room, but it's locked. To the side of the door is a small panel with a glowing brown stripe. The machinery in the room appears to be mostly broken, but some of it is still active in a way. Judging by what she sees, this room looks rather important. The large golden panel can be pressed, and Jean is certain it is not a self-destruct button, but is unaware of its purpose.
Relas |
"Thanks Fijit! That helps a lot," Relas exclaims as the worst of his injuries begin to mend themselves, though there are still some cuts and bruises that remain.
His spirits bolstered by his improved health, Relas pads over to the strange flickering windows and attempts to see what's on the other side.
Palomia Kasic |
"Well, at least it seems safe enough for the moment, just wish we didn't have to hit the trap to make it that way though," Palomia mutters, looking around the room in bewilderment. This sort of thing was most certainly not within the realm of her own experience or knowledge, which wasn't helping her mood any.
She cautiously walks over to the strange glass-topped table and looks at it curiously, wondering what the purpose of the glass might be.
Fijit Doohickey |
"Brown stripe, brown cards." Fijit says matter-of-factly. Taking out one of the strange brown cards Fijit looks for a way for it to interact with the panel.
Knowledge:Engineering: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
TheRiverOcean |
Relas peers into the flickering windows, but sees only gray and black nonsensical images.
Palomia approaches the table and the lights begin to glow brighter. Small lights follow her hand as she inspects the surface.
Fijit swipes the brown card across the brown panel and the door clicks and chirps. A small light above the door turns green as does the brown panel, which looks as though it can be pressed.
Kaad |
The anxiety wells up in Kaad. He is so confused by all this gadgetry that he grows more eager to do what he does best...destroy things. Kaad reaches out and presses the green panel hoping to reveal passage or another enemy to destroy.
Relas |
"What sort of windows are these? I can see things but they don't make any sense! Am I looking through a portal!?" Relas exclaims, suddenly jumping back in alarm.
Palomia Kasic |
As the lights on the table grow brighter and begin to trail after her hand, Palomia stops and stands very still. "There's surely some sort of magic about this table if it reacts based on proximity of other creatures. But what's the purpose of it?" She cautiously continues to examine the table, trying to determine what function it might serve.
Kn. Arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
I know that this is something Palo probably would have no clue about, but *she* doesn't necessarily know that :)
TheRiverOcean |
@Askra my bad!
Askra notices some faint footprints leading into the room that Fijit unlocked and Kaad opened. The door slides open revealing darkness beyond the threshold. The footprints match those of the creatures in the desert! The low humming and chirps continue to gently fill the air, but an eerie silence seems to leak out from the beyond the dark doorway.
Palomia finds no traces of magic on the table, but t is possible to mask such things from detection. Whoever created this magic was either extremely powerful, or quite clever indeed.
Askra Taw |
Askra will fall in behind Kaad, blade at the ready. She peers over her demonic ally's shoulder.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
TheRiverOcean |
The room is dark, and even Kaad sees nothing moving. It's too dark to see the fallowing for anyone but Kaad:
A large metal table is surrounded by odd-looking chairs in this room. To the west, what appears to be a transparent wall looks out over a strange desert valley. Four pillars support the fifteen- foot-high ceiling, while dozens of crude images of a pickaxe made of a skull and bones have been painted onto the walls with some sort of ivory pigment along with several phrases in an unrecognizable language.
TheRiverOcean |
Kaad spots a shadow move out from behind a tall nearby pillar. It's a ravenous four armed creature holding wicked blades. It's clothed, and though it also seems undead, it seems rather intelligent. It lunges for Kaad.
Monster initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Kaad: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Askra: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Relas: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Jean: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Paloma: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Fidget: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Jean whips up a spell and attacks with Disrupt Undead, quick as lightning to stop the creature's attack!
It's quite dark, but...
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 89
Jean lands the spell despite the lack of light! The creature gets hurt, but it attacks Kaad with full strength.
Mwk Shortsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Kaad takes a gash in the darkness
Palomia Kasic |
Initially, Palomia can only see the faintest outline of the creature as it emerges from behind the pillar, though Jean's magic illuminates it just long enough for her to see that they're dealing with something similar to the skeletons they fought in the strange desert.
Cursing under her breath due to the lack of visibility, she reaches out to place a hand on Askra's shoulder. "I hope you're good at night fighting!"
Casting Guidance on Askra.
TheRiverOcean |
@Askra Its just one bad guy so I dont think we'll need one. If I think we do then I'll make it, plus its dark in there and most of you cant see so I dont wanna reveal too much until someone casts light.
TheRiverOcean |
vague outlines of things perhaps. Maybe some dim reflections of light from shiny surfaces. The room behind you is lit. As for attacking you don't need to guess a square to attack or anything, you can resonably guess where the creature is attacking Kaad from but you'll incur the 20 percent miss chance bc of lowlight.
Askra Taw |
Askra feels the power given her by Palomia as a slight interruption of her native sense. She lunges at the fell shape assaulting Kaad. Unfortunately, in the dim light her aim is horrid, and her swing goes awry...
Shwiff!: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 6 [+2 BAB, +2 Str, +1 guidance]
Chongg!: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 1) + 3 = 9 [two handed Str]
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 82
Relas |
Relas deftly pushes his way through his companions and attempts to circle around the creature before delivering a well-placed bite.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
"...Wait, you mean none of you can see in the dark? I mean I know Palo can't, but I didn't know that applied to all humans..."
I forgot that Relas has darkvision...
TheRiverOcean |
A couple of party members miss their target in the dark. Fijit lights up the room with Dancing Lights! Relas snags the creature with a powerful bite, yet his jaws can't seem to get a good grip on the scrawny limbs. His attack is not nearly as harmful is he intended.
Jean it's your ups!
Jean Antonio |
I'll try to get a light up!
As Jean takes a quick step back, she crouches to touch a floor tile/panel and allows arcane energy to flow into it, filling it with Light.
Palomia Kasic |
As Jean's well-timed Light spell floods the room, Palomia mentally breathes a sigh of relief.
I'd taken Nashara's light magic for granted...at least Jean can still help us with that!
Now that she has a much better view of what they're dealing with and where it actually is, she carefully judges its' movements for a moment before hurling another small orb of acid.
Acid Splash (Ranged Touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
A litany of curses can be heard as the orb misses its target by a mile and harmlessly impacts somewhere further back in the room.
Will post Relas' action after the monster takes its turn since it and Palo are after Jean in the initiative order, it looks like.

BATTLE MAP UPDATED
The four armed creature easily dodges the attacks, then turns on Relas.
sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

The sword cuts Relas just as Kaad scolds him. Something about the room seems strange.
Perception and Kn Engineering for those that have it
TheRiverOcean |
Jean notices some strange machines near the top of the room. small tube looking devices with dim lights. They seem to follow the party as they move through the room.
Relas |
Relas roars in pain as one of the creature's sword attacks sinks into his shoulder. He shifts himself around behind the creature, flanking it with Kaad. As he moves into position, he snaps at it with his jaws and whips his tail around for a sting attempt.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Attack (Sting): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23

Jean Antonio |
Cameras? What are those doing here? These don't seem to be dangerous, but just in case...
Jean's hand dive into her pouch as she grabs another cube of butter. With deft aim, she throws it upward towards the cameras just as she infuses it with arcane energy. The butter explodes like a net and tries to envelope the camera in Grease.
It's entitled to a Reflex Save (DC15). Hopefully it's enough to block out the lens.
Askra Taw |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Askra takes a moment to take the strange creature's measure, seeing little else but her opponent. She swings again, and like her infernal ally, misses.

Fijit notices a strange device at the ceiling of the room. It's cylindrical and pointing at the party. Jean casts grease on the area, coating the machine with a thick slippery fluid. The cylinder adjusts several times pointing in all directions before it's light turns off and it slumps down pointing towards the floor.
Relas lands two solid blows, but the humanoid creature is boney, and its flesh is somehow malleable. The attack that would have possibly killed a normal human doesn't seem to have harmed the creature at all!
The creature turns to Relas again and strikes in an attempt to break the flank.

Relas is obliterated by the attack. The creature tosses Relas aside and turns to face Askra and Kaad. It raises its swords and fists, beckoning the two warriors to attack.
"H'ngk sah-Ah Hetulath."
Jean Antonio |
No! Relas! says Jean as the eidolon falls. Despite this, she sees an opening and lobs another cube of butter somewhere between Relas' position and the creature. This time, the Grease (Reflex DC15) spreads like a drum of oil being spilled, causing the ground underneath the creature to become slippery.
EDIT: Black 10ft square added.
