We tried talking her out of coming with us, but she wouldn't have it. After this, though...well, hopefully she'll finally realize that Khonnir wouldn't want her to die looking for him."

The sun swiftly rises outside of the Foundry Tavern, and the sounds of birds chirping and loud metal working fill the air. Askra stirs、the night was restful, but not quite long enough. The pink has returned the Val's cheeks, and she sleeps soundly on Jhestine's lap covered in a thick blanket. Jean is on a nearby bedroll, and Kaad is already awake, helping himself to some breakfast.

"Hey Jean. Hey. I've got a couple questions, where can Kaad and I find a magical healer? Also, are we gonna sell some of that loot from the cave?"

Jean rolls over and squints at Askra.
"Huh? A magical healer? Well there are some magic user's down at the general store near the main gate. They sell plenty of different spells, but nothing too strong, probably up to the third tier of spell-casting power. Something like Cure Light Wounds would probably cost around 20 gp. Jhestine also sells potions. Maybe we can get Dolga to give us a writ that will provide a discount?"

There are some different things that some of you want to do, so feel free to do those things, split up if you need to, or meet up with each other any way you see fit. Nothing will hinder you in Torch at this point, and try not to take to long to come to a party decision! Things can always be ret-conned if someone wants to add or take away from another's actions. Whoop!

Still here! Palomia herself doesn't have much she wants to do besides refresh spells, but she has no issue with the others taking the time to sell things and resupply. She'll even tag along to help with the purchase of potions/scrolls if need be or if asked - the fighter types would surely buy the wrong things if they went unsupervised ;) My work schedule has been wonky and as a result, so has my sleep schedule. Once I've had some rest and the business of selling and splitting the loot is handled, I'll try and see if Palo has anything that she'd be particularly interested in buying before they head back.

Sorry for being a little quiet lately; ever had spells where you feel more inspired for certain games/characters than others? Not a reflection on TRO or any of the other PCs/players, just something that seems to happen to me at random.

After a surprisingly restful night's sleep, Palomia rises to greet the new day. For a brief instant, she seems confused about where she is, but as the cobwebs of sleep fade, recognition infuses her face and she scowls slightly. Right. I'm in Torch because my foolish companion insisted we pay it a visit. And yesterday we met up with a bunch of strangers of varying degrees of mental stability and went spelunking to find some errant townsfolk. And then things got...really strange.

"Figures that in all of Numeria, you'd find the portal to a world where nothing seems to make any sense," she mutters to herself with a bit of wry chuckle. Seeing that the rest of her companions are also already awake or just beginning to stir themselves, she offers up, "Morning. I suppose we should see about breakfast and then take care of whatever errands we have before we boldly go where everyone else seems to have gone before...and not returned. But first, time to call Relas back to me for the day."

With that, she begins her summoning ritual.

Askra will head to the undertaker to organise proper burial. She'll pay whatever the cost for a few porters to help her with the body rather than bother any of the group.

Then she'll see about selling off the unused loot - everything unclaimed on Jean's list, even the mwk shortsword and mwk buckler she claimed earlier. She tells the party before she takes the gear so as to have company and oversight of sales.

Having completed these tasks she will alert Parda's next of kin/gang that she has died and that her body is with the undertaker.

Then she's happy to go shopping for potions and scrolls.

... to Dolga "We managed to come back after being ambushed, twice! We have a lot of wounded and wanted to ask if you have something that can assist us get back to full strength before diving back in. I think we're very close to finding Khonnir."

Oooookay. This is getting seriously bogged down, and I haven't seen Fijit post for about 10 days...

@TRO - can you look at THIS inventory stacking sheet, and tell me what we can sell here in Torch and for what - there is no selling price for the mwk shortsword for example…

@Party members - take a last look at the inventory sheet and decide if you want anything, otherwise Askra will sell it all. I'm guessing we might want to keep the potions, scrolls, alchemists fire/smokesticks/liquid ice etc. What about the tech items - discs, cards etc….

Askra is churlish at the temple, but eventually caves in.

@Askra agreed. You can sell everything for 50% of the selling price as per the normal rules. Its early on, so don't be afraid to sell everything if you want.
@Kaad yeah a clw is a good idea, pull the trigger on it!

Askra go ahead and sell all you like, lets not wait for party members any longer. You guys can always find more loot anyway!If you guys want a wand of CLW and you cant afford it, then go ahead and judge how much money you'd like to spend and we'll get you a wand that doesnt have full charges.

"You'll have to excuse me... sir, but I am out of spells to use on you. Good day." The Cleric says, eyeing the money in Kaad's hands, then swiftly turning his back.

The party gathers what they need and head back to the Foundry Tavern. Nashara looks as though she has the flu. Val is up and walking around the bar making sure Nashara has food, and showing her lightning shaped battle-scar, though it should heal in less than a week.

As the party returns, Val and Nashara address them.

"Welcome back!" Val calls from behind the bar. She walks around to the front and lifts the side of her shirt.
"Check it out guys, I have the coolest scar now."

Nashara shakes her head.
"I hope you all found what you were looking for. Ah, a wand of Cure Light Wounds. Thats a fair choice. Speaking of healing... I'm not coming with you this time. I know how disappointed you must be, and I'm sorry, but I don't want to become so ill that I endanger you all. I am truly sorry everyone."

Val nods at Nashara, then turns to the group.
"Well, we made a deal actually. Nashara promised me that she wouldn't go back down there, only if I promised her that I would do the same. She'll stay here and guard me while you're out. Anyway, Don't pretend like you're not happy about that, Ask, and Jean. And Kaad probably. Good luck you guys, please find Khonnir and come back in one piece."

The party prepares themselves and says farewell. It's still before noon when they head to the cave. Through the water, and the stinking entrance. Through the stone maw and the room with the pit and past the Sky Metal door. Through the desert with a black starless sky, and through the room with bright white walls. The party comes to the room where the machine overloaded the power and shocked everyone. Beyond that hallway there is more light. Up ahead looks to be a larger room, with a lights of blue and green flashing intermittently.

Askra surprises Val by giving her a warm and lengthy hug, and ordering the two women to "look after each other". She asks Nashara to put her blessings upon her starmetal pendant. Then she stows her gear and sets off back into the darkness of the strange caverns.

Ask screws up her face in a gesture of not-knowing, and shrugs.

"Mostly they just... jump out and electrocute us."

She looks pointedly at Jean.
" I thought you were the "masheen"-kenner?!?"

Under her breath Ask mutters "Wish Val was here...Annoying she was sometimes, but she knew a thing or two..."

Before we go in, I wanted to give you this Askra. He says as he hands Askra a chakram that he picked up in town. I noticed that you were interested in mine. The demonic figure couldn't help looking dastardly even though his smile was slight and sincere.

Earlier, in the temple...

Relas looks both surprised and annoyed (as much as feline features can, at any rate) when the cleric of Brigh gives Kaad the cold shoulder after having been rather friendly with Askra and Jean.

"Wha-but he offered gold just the same as they did!" he snorts indignantly. "There's no need to be rude or turn down a donation; what sort of temple is this, anyway?" he mutters as the group heads back to the tavern.

"I...I'll miss you two, but that's probably for the best," Relas says sadly. "The town's already lost your friend Parda and who knows who else - I don't want to add to that."

Present, in the cavernship...

Relas fidgets around somewhat nervously which is an unusual change of pace from his normally unflappable self. "Be careful about poking and breaking things in here...that shock really hurt and I don't want to repeat the experience. Palo, I'm still pretty hurt from yesterday; do you think you can fix it?"

"What do you expect?" Palomia grumbles as they exit the temple and begin making their way back to the tavern. "Anyone that looks like they've got some of the Abyss in their blood gets the short end of the stick in most places. Especially here, what with the gaping @$$hole of the Worldwound so close."

"One of the best ideas I've heard from anyone since we came to Torch. The both of you need to rest up, especially you Nashara. Even just running around too much here could make your illness worse, so take care not to overdo it!"

"That's right, we never did take care of that last night, did we? I can fix it, or perhaps Fijit could try out that shiny new wand on you after Kaad."

Kaad and Fijit notice the room where everyone was electrocuted has grown still and dim. It doesn't look like anything threatening remains.

The party continues past the now-dim room and down the hallway to the room with lights. They enter, and see a an ancient wonder of a room before them.


The air in this room seems to buzz and hum with energy. Strips of glowing rectangles light the room from above, while strange
flickering windows line the east and west walls. A large glass- topped circular table sits in the middle of the room. To the north sits a large metal desk covered with blinking lights, while a humming pillar of purple-and-black metal stands nearby, its sides flashing with tendrils of violet energy. A single golden panel, like a large button, flashes with a soft but incessant light on the side of this pillar.

A thick layer of dust coats everything, diffusing the lights shining from the various surfaces, and many of the machines seem to be damaged, cracked, or otherwise ruined.

Askra is interested in everything in this ….cavern….chamber….whatever it is, but only insofar as it might need to avoided in case it electrocutes her. She does take note of the dust coating everything, and looks for tracks in the dust…
