About halfway done. Would it be okay to use the Elvencraft Bow weapon modification from the 3.5 Races of the Wild book? It lets you treat a shortbow as a club or a longbow as a quarterstaff for 300 gp. I just like the idea of not toting around a ton of weapons.

Elvencraft Bow:
Bow, Elvencraft: One of the biggest problems facing any archer is deciding what to do when a foe gets within melee reach. Does one stand fast and take the consequences (which can prove painful if not deadly), fall back (not always practical), or drop the bow and draw a melee weapon (inconvenient at best). Elf bowyers have made the choice somewhat less difficult by crafting bows that can stand up to melee combat.
Thanks to elven ingenuity, these weapons work just as well as melee weapons as they do as ranged weapons.
An elvencraft bow is thicker and heavier than a normal bow. An elvencraft shortbow functions as a club when wielded as a melee weapon. An elvencraft longbow functions as a quarterstaff when wielded as a melee weapon. The wielder incurs no penalty on attack rolls when using an elvencraft bow as a melee weapon.
A character wielding an elvencraft bow can freely interchange melee and ranged attacks during the same round. When wielding an elvencraft bow, the user threatens the squares around him no matter how he last used the weapon.
Magical enhancements to an elvencraft bow only affect its use as a bow. Enhancements to the melee capabilities of the weapon must be added separately.
An elvencraft bow costs 300 gp more than a normal bow.

1- tieflings are a bit too powerful, so no...
2- scroll shield counts as a shield
3- yea you can use Elvencraft bow, but it will count as an exotic weapon

Thank you kindly. (If it's exotic now, instead of a mod, would Weapon Focus apply to both aspects?)

Sorry to see you go, Kulthar. Darn real life. :)

Also, sorry to not post in a couple of days. I hope no one was waiting for me. Maybe the dwarf would be willing to swim to the bottom of the cave pool. :P

Well, this is taking a bit longer than I anticipated. Familiar, Eidolon, tons of spells, tons more class features, etc. I'll have him up in a day or two. Hopefully that underwater monster I don't know about in-game doesn't eat everyone.

In the meantime, feel free to peruse what little I have posted for Caelash Suul, so far.

Caelash Suul is an elven mystical archer, scribe, and traveler. He's a polyglot, alchemist, forger, and master of low-level magic.

A few of the things do not apply, or will be re-formatted (I copy/pasted another character sheet and altered accordingly, then added notes. :P)

Finishing eidolon, equipment, spell lists, spells prepared, and then proof-reading.

Any chance of combining my 3 spellbooks (magus spellbook, wizard spellbook, and alchemist formula book) into 1 or 2 tomes, as the weight is 9 lbs (3lbs each) right now alone (disallowing me from carrying much in the way of other stuff, like potions, scrolls, torches, rations, water, etc.).

Edit: never mind, got a haversack

Caelash Suul is ready for game. Just let me know how & when you'd like me to enter the game.

alright, we should be able to find a way to get you into the game soon

Cool, just let me know; I'll keep an eye out.

Caelash, you can introduce yourself now,

Spoiler:
you were in the cave all along, looking for the missing children, sent by their mother privately you didn't get to see the fish creature but you did found a scarf in the cave

ulgulanoth:
Sounds good. Just help me out with details about the mother, what she told me, the scarf, etc., if the other players need it. :)

I also assumed to read the character description that the bootsprints I found were not Caelash's sandals. Oh wow would that waste game time.

Sorry, I would have posted earlier in the pbp but I didn't realize mine was the last on the page with a new page having started. I just kept checking the tab, hitting refresh, not seeing any new posts, and then going back to my other tabs.

It's okay Caelash and I have been posting a ton recently.

Oh this is just wonderful how will I see even to the bottom of this pit.

Sorry I didn't post a little earlier tonight. I saw Caelish's question post and, forgetting he and the crabs had gone, was waiting for everyone else to go. My bad. I'll try to get my posts in earlier so that anyone waiting on me can go ahead. Of course, with us going in a block and the crabs last it still works going out of order...

@ Ian

I think that ulgulanoth normally posts early in the morning and (basically) takes weekends off from posting. So, a posting (Caelish) after his normal weekday time on Friday orning might not get responded to until Sunday evening or Monday morning.

well, as it happens that is kind of true (no idea why, my weekends just disappear)

Okay that makes sense now.

I want a dancing lights spell cast towards this attacker. Can anyone do that I can't.

i think Caelash has dancing lights

Nope.

Now I'm confused.

game seems to be stagnating a bit now. Ian wants to get back to sleep but get some information but Caelash can't seem to get any out of it.

Well, Ulgulanoth is choosing how much info the mayor divulges via magical compulsion, and would rather I ask explicit questions in character rather than a general "tell us what you can" approach. Which is fair, I just had no idea I needed to be that detailed going into this.

I now am waiting on said explicit questions to be answered. After that, Caelash will repeat the process with the woman.

...never expected Uriel to go first (out of the PCs) with an unadjusted 11.

I thought of a way the mage could get two spells out if he has a lesser quicken rod.

Everyone except Caelash has posted on how excited they are about distant worlds.

distant worlds?

distant worlds

Seems pretty interesting, though I wonder how well they can do the product in 64 pages without supplements.

I wonder if it'll feel more like space exploration or plane-hopping. Or spelljammer/planescape. Something else?

From one of the writers:

James Sutter wrote:
The Thing from Beyond the Edge wrote:

Any word as to whether the world to world travel will be through on planet dimensional portals (similar to one mentioned in Heart of the Jungle...), by something similar to spaceships, something different entirely, or some combination of these?

All of the above! :D

Cool. I'm down for that. I always wanted a Spelljammer/Planescape/Eberron-Iron Kingdoms-flavored setting, and this could easily afford that. Fantasy magipunk...

Like Star Wars meets Final Fantasy meets Planescape... hmmm....

I'll try my best to save you guys.

Uriel's not done yet! :)
