Livain, Maiathreen, got any actions for the occurring combat?
I figure unless the battle expands our traditional group is going to rip three ghouls to shreds in a round.
With a white dragon, even one in halfling form, and the teen bird witch its unlikely to last even that long.

Back again, internet is touch and go. Luckily my work leveled out (as level as Oil Field is concerned) and a new opportunity has arose that I will most likely take as it'll lead to moving up into a career instead of this dismal state I am in lol. Just depends on qualifications. So whenever there is a downside there is an upside I guess lol.

Hope alls well in your world Corerue
So it occurs to me that once we get done with this adventure in the mountains our group will be able to return to the mercenary company and will finally have the chance to actually arrive in Iobaria.
I'll admit after all we've seen on the outskirts of this place to being excited as to what Corerue has waiting. Interacting with his jerk NPC's we've been getting to see the occasional post from should be some fun as well.
While we've not had many interactions with him I'm also interested to see how Livain's Dwarven forge master responds to our little adventure up here.
Plus yanno, the whole 'Dragon knows Wallace is full of crap' bit.
We keep managing to wander into the worst kinds of NPC's for Wallace being able to use his Eldrich powers without giving away the game. I find it quite amusing.

Internet is sporadic where I am, go figure its summer time and we have low connectivity. I purchased a package at camp because the free internet is no go for like 6 hours after getting off work. Which I do stocks and other things like a know GAMING. So paid for it, so I can keep moving. Apologies for the Wait. Whose all still in?

That reminds me, about how tall is this room? I'd figured the armory was going to be one of the taller ones but it would be good to know if there is enough room for our fliers to maneuver or our draco-ling to go full on dragon if the battle requires it.
DM Corerue |
Good point! This room is 150 x 150 ft by 30 ft high, though with the armor racks and such it is hard to tell if there are varying elevations in here.
There are a lot of armor and weapon racks that, in case of invasion can be easily unsecured and turned into impromptu barricades. Or could, be used to pin foes. This area was a fall back in the sense if the area past this fell to an enemy force. This was not only a chokepoint but also the racks could be toppled to pin foes under the weight of the items held in place by straps. Once toppled the higher elevations, which contain heavy crossbows and repeating crossbows primarily could be armed and rain death on those pinned beneath the racks. despite having cover the racks are thin enough to allow maximum penetration for the crossbowman. Those that survive are then picked off at range by longspears that adorn the back walls. Thus minimizing the actual close combat the dwarves had to commit to.
Piture like a movie theater where seats are staggered at different levels. This are ahas a total of three areas. It raises every twenty feet away from the doors on each sides by 10 feet.
Wallace Boyd |
Hrmm, enough for them to reposition without getting mobbed then.
Though our dragon friend resizing will likely involve quite a lot of crashing armor racks.
So the side of the room closest to the church is the tallest/ most defensible then?
Doubtless the weapons in here will be of questionable value but tipping armor racks sounds like a barrel of fun in this place.

Apologies for lack of posts.
I will get a another post up in about twelve hours. Been working a lot of 18 hr days. Again my apologies for not posting a message sooner.
In the WotR I am waiting on an action post. The enemy tried to sneak attack Jen and then fled somewhere below. Kinda of your move there.
The enemies in Iobaria are gathering on the edge of everyones darkvision (60ft behind you) and the area ahead is obstructed by rcks. I haven't had time to upload my map as I am starting my work day but I thought I would post really quick.
Thanks for your patience.
Maiathreen |
Is there anyway to fix this I know Cyra and me haven't been posting like we should. So I can't help but feel this is our fault. Our life has been so hectic and twisted most of the time I don't even know what to do anymore. I do however know I love these games and hope there is someway to continue...
DM Corerue |
Naw it isn't your fault Mai and Livain its like Rhavenna said. Its hard to jump and stop over and over again. So Now that I have had time to think about it I will get things moving in a more interesting direction...
I will PM Wallace here soon enough but we will continue as is. I am not giving up on Iobaria. I would like to restart Skyfall. But only when I am ready and recovered my game files.
DM Corerue |
I have someone who can join. You know them already and they were going to be in a fresh startup I had planned mainly offline, but we are shifting focus.
However here is some tidbits. This is the last guy. So feel free to go all out, I won't hold the possibility of continued combat over your head.
Aeria will be joining in momentarily. She has been strengthening in the background. So Rhavenna won't be alone, my bad for not posting it as well. Time has been limited lately. Herolab is good at keeping track of things.
DM Corerue |
Np, apologies for info dump. Tried to spend more time and not be vague as a lot did happen.
As of right now party members are separated, allowing for RL situations to resolve and to minimize pressure on each of us. I will continue forward like this for a time to ensure a fun experience, hopefully, for each of you. RL comes first. I haven't heard back from Wallace but I have a replacement for them.
So no Rush Rhavenna, enjoy your vacation!

A were-polar-bear! Awesome!!! With the eyepatch you reminds me of the iconic Rumpleminz ad
Aslan Von Kessel |
Haha just got that pic to load Rhavenna, that's funny. XD
I think I had some of that the last time I was in Germany for Octoberfest. Which sadly I am missing for the first time in like 10 years this year. *sigh* oh well, there is always next year. And maybe this time Corerue will loosen up and go with me. : Get tipsy at least once in your life man. NOt plastered, just tipsy. Like fingertip tingling like in LotR with Gimli and Legolas.
