I'm tempted to write that Irathes touches his nose with one forefinger, and points at Ady with the other, but I don't think that convention has developed in Golarion...much less that Irathes would do that sort of thing...

Irathes bows to Ady, and says, "Lead on..."

If there are no objectors, Adonnenniel leads the party back to the fallen tower.

Klodd had been thinking while the others looked around. "Well obviously there must have been another way in". "I doubt the old wizard would let everyone in through his tower". "Let's go find that, go in, and we'll find all our answers".

Male Elf Archivist 1; HP 8/8; AC 16/12/14; F+0 R+4 W+1; Init +2; Per. +5

That is certainly an interesting theory that bears investigation, Mr. Kloddhopper. I'd like to collect some samples of any alchemical explosives as well, to show to the local alchemist.

Erynion follows along back to the tower.

Heading back to the tower, you find that with the excitement down, there's nobody at the tower.

What do the party do?

Female Elf Cleric of Findeladlara/1; HP 12/12; AC-17/12/15; F+2,R+2,W+5; INIT+2; Per. +5

Adonnenniel heads to the base of the tower, and begins looking around.

Thinking out loud she says "If there is a way inside I would expect to find it here, although perhaps the fall broke apart some walls and we could get through them? Or maybe some high windows? For that matter where's the door. Maybe we could crawl up the walls and get to it? Or maybe we should check for a basement. Now I wish we had asked for a full history of the tower before we got here. I wonder if the city has a historian? I can't wait to explore the village. That's not true, I can wait if it means having gold when I do explore it. Has anyone found anything yet?"

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Is there a chance we can get more of a description on the fallen tower? Or did we already have one that I forgot about? Just thinking it might give us a better place to check around for entrances.

Male Half-Elf Witch-Gravewalker/1; HP 8/8; AC-12/12/10; F+2,R+2,W+3; INIT +2; Per. +1

Irathes helps Ady search for a way in, but doesn't roll, because he feels like she'll find it...

Sovereign Court

Chronicle Sheets GM Busy At Work........

Sorry for the wait.

Searching the debris around the fallen tower, there doesn't seem to be any other way of getting down.

An enormous heap of cracked stone and splintered wood from the tower lies in a low mound here, tumbled partially down the hill to the southeast. The mound of rubble forms a natural ramp that leads up to the now-exposed second floor of the tower above.

Finding the above was stroke of luck as it was buried under some other rubble and no one else had noticed the ramp, passing it off as part of the fallen rubble. It could also be that no one else wanted to be seen as going up and finding trouble beyond what they could handle. The townsfolk here seemed of a sensible sort.

DC 15 Knowledge (engineering):

First of all, the bulk of the tower seems to have crumbledinto a sinkhole (although from this vantage point it’s impossible to tell how much of the basement survived).

Second, the rubble is unstable, and could shift if not traversed carefully.

Perception DC 20:

Something has being observing you but what you're not sure. A glimpse of scales is all that you can catch as it disappears.

I suggest we tread carefully here, friends. There's something scaly up there watching us, probably another kobold. And I'm not sure this structure is entirely stable. They may have gotten in via a sinkhole. The tower's certainly collapsing jnto one.

Erynion will collect a sample of explosives or residue if there is any available to do so while he's still on the ground floor. He won't start climbing unless the rest of the group does.

Having said this, she begins her first attempt.

Erynion finds very little residue as if someone had being here before and cleaned up evidence. He remembers that there were more traces before they left for the wizard's manor.

Adonnenniel on the other hand finds the climb tedious but not difficult.

Looking around, Adonnenniel draws her sword and her wooden holy symbol, while silently murmuring a prayer for safety. If she is having trouble seeing she also casts light on her sword.

She quietly but authoritatively speaks:

"Be careful. We don't know what's up here (other than our miserable villain of a wizard), so we should stay together. Let me know if you get hurt."

She steps to the front of the line and starts moving forward.

Sense Motive DC 19(same check as before):
Hehe, I sound like a big tough Adventurer. What would Captain Variel say in this situation?

Pausing to think a moment she adds, "Does anyone here know anything about traps?"

Successfully reaching the second floor earns the party 400 XP.

Open to the sky above, this exposed upper floor contains only some smashed furniture and a sprinkling of rubble. A trap door is set in the floor against the northwest wall, but a stout timber has fallen across it.
Adonnenniel correctly surmises that the log could be lifted with some effort.

"Those grounds, however, were generally free of traps..."

Irathes picks up his crossbow, and sets a bolt. Holding that in his right hand, he puts his other hand into his component pouch, ready for whatever may come.

Irathes quickly utters the words he said before to Detect Magic in the area.

Klodd examines the door inch by inch but finds nothing unusual. He does note that the door is well made and is generally in a fine shape despite taking such a beating as the tower collasping. Dwarven Sigils adorn the edges of the door, speaking of durability and strength.

It is however locked or jammed perhaps due to the collaspe.

Telthes and Klodd lift up the log easily.

Irathes rolls his eyes, but briefly puts his hand up as a "yea" motion. He then proceeds to try to determine the acronym for their group name...BAWHDWWCAACBUFTBTJ...far too long. "We could go by that name...or we could do it based on our inception. We were brought together by the work of a con-artist and smuggler, so why not the Con-Forged, or Smuggle-Stained or the like?"

His time around gravestones had made names a bit of a hobby of Irathes'.

"Brilliant idea, Irathes! From now on we shall be known as The Con-Forged Smuggle-Stained Band of Adventurers Who Hunt Down Wizards Who Commit Atrocities Against the City of Belhaim And Upon Finding Them Bring Them to Justice!"

Adonnenniel is going to call the group whatever she feels like in the moment, without being married to any one name. So don't let her eccentricities discourage you from having a reasonable group name. I do like "Con-Forged" myself.

Adonnenniel hoped her heartfelt apology would calm Klodd's wrath about... something, she couldn't really say what. Perhaps he felt unworthy of the title? Or was it because she didn't know doors were jars? But how could she have known doors were ancient jars created by dwarves, and adopted by other races? She only paused a moment to consider the technological evolution that had taken place so long ago her family had already forgotten it, but still fresh in the minds of the dwarven folk, who must even today have stories or legends about it.

She resolved to ask Klodd more about this when he is in a better mood. In the mean time she enters the next room, using her sword to light the way.

The tower’s large ground floor has mostly collapsed under the rubble, but along the western portion of the room a section remains clear of debris. I was thinking the "Somewhere someone is laughing," was a subtle commentary on how we treated the last door.

Adonnenniel walks around the room looking and listening for anything that might stand out amongst the rubble and noise of her companions.

Finally, she turns from the Kobolds, and to the trap doors. She looks over at Klodd pleadingly, but does not wish to broach the topic of jars with him again so soon. So she instead turns her head and stares at the door. Taking 20 for 25 to look for traps

"Anything there"? "Hope you see better than you hear".

Klodd bends to unlock the door if it is reported un-trapped by the elf...He knows that despite their flightiness, they're pretty good at finding things.. If it is trapped then use the roll to attempt to disarm it, and take 20 on the unlocking.

The someone laughing part was just your GM cracking up at the jars comment.

The two small scaled creatures are definitely kobolds but it seem that their cause of deaths are twin holes burned into their chests. The holes do not exit the other side of their bodies though, the wound is cauterized as if by some form of extreme heat.

Koldd on the other hand after examing the doors find that they are not trapped though he takes some time to unlock it, fiddling with the elaborate and complex tumblers before managing to defeat them.
