Male Half Elf Rogue 7 (HP 38/38; AC 23/15/18; F+5, R+13, W+5 (+2 trap, enchant, fear), Init +5, Per +12 (+3 trap))
Hmm, I'm back... Nothing else posted?
I might have to drop this game. It's not really gone very far in the past few weeks. I know that's not the fault of anyone in particular, but I kind of made a pact with myself when play-by-posts got to be a mental nightmare . That I would only play in the games that were actually fun and mentally engaging. So, I'm just hoping we haven't lost our DM, but that's usually what happens. I'll give it a week, hopefully it will get up and get interesting again. =P
However, I should be back to posting once per day.
There were a bunch of fires in my area and my friends kept kidnapping me.
><;
Hopefully I'll be able to keep you guys. I'll check on this campaign in another two hours.

Fine, thanks! How are you?
Assuming you're more asking about how the game is going, I will admit to feeling a little out of the loop, not really sure what the deal about this little town is. These are souls that are hiding from the daemons because the daemons eat souls? But the daemons know the town exists and allow it to exist for some reason? I'm sure all this got explained properly at some point, and I just missed or skimmed the important posts somehow to not quite knowing what's exactly going on.
But I'm loving rocking the house with a 32 on a fluff skill.
Well, it certainly causes these dichotomies to make more sense.
Also, I never said I was a good gm, but as long as you're having fun, that's the important thing.
And I was asking how you were doing all around. Good to hear you're doing good.

The thing I am wondering about is--why they don't turn into daemons themselves after a certain time period. I guess they get exiled before that happens?

So these petitioners are hoping to become daemons themselves? That's why they don't kill themselves as soon as they realize they're in Abbadon and probably daemon food?
Would good-inclined beings such as the party think that killing these evil souls who want to become soul-sucking daemons when they grow up before they get the chance is a good act doing the multi-verse a favor?

No, they just want to live for a little longer, then die of their own hand, rather than be eaten by daemons or become a daemon. Isn't that what we all want?
Also I just want to put it out there that I am really glad this game is back. It is currently my favorite PbP, and I hope it keeps going for a long time.
For the record, I too really enjoy this game and am pleased by it's ongoing existence. :)

I meant in an immediate sense, with the petitioners and how they work and all.
I'm a lot less certain on, say, who took the Wayfinder, though my basic suspicions are centered on the whole village basically trying to take us for all we're worth (items, information, gold, bodies, blood, souls, and all). Or at least part of the village...
Let me know if you need railroading in this situation; I just don't want to interrupt the planning phase of the Scooby Doo Gang. (I don't mean that derogatively.)

Message lets you whisper things to a group of people (one per level), and they can whisper back to you. There's nothing in the spell that says the people in the group can whisper to each other (other than being relayed by the caster).
I appreciate your honesty in bringing this to my attention, Petrova, but my group has always house ruled message to work like a short range walkie-talkie that I forgot to point out some things.
The spell that allows what is being desired is called Telepathic Bond.
However, due to the severe limitations in range that Message suffers, and the fact you can still be overheard -or interrupted-, makes me think that it's the closest thing one can manage. I'll allow it to work as a several-way conversation piece for several reasons:
1. This campaign can get hard, and I mean hard, really fast. Chances are, if you don't have a means of communication and you split up like this, you will die.
2.It's already done.
3.It's entertaining to read.
4.Story trumps rules. :)
That being said, Kanthuun can cast the spell on Petrova, as technically, he's included in the spell already(as his party members pointed out). I assumed there was a character reason for having a no-girls allowed chat, but... Petrova can still make the DC to listen in. And, I'll allow him to have retroactively cast it if he wants to have. That being out of the way, ON WITH THE SHOW!

Hey, I'm down with that. Story should always beat rules (to say nothing of he difficulty in keeping a pbp moving when none of the PCs can talk to each other). Besides, you can get the same effect with the caster simply relaying the messages to the team.
If it's possible, Petrova would like to be in on things, but if Drovya wants her out, that's okay too. She'll cast it herself on her team members! :D

Not yet. They just announced plans for one.
I use Maptools. It's free and powerful, and there are great tutorials for the basic functions, which aren't that hard to figure out. I use the Export Screenshot function to export jpgs of the players' view version of my maps and post those on a google site, though photobucket works well for that too).
Roll20 is nice if you're never used MapTools, but I could never stomach the loss of functionality going back to it after using MapTools.
As a friendly reminder, Black Ivan is made of Mithral, which counts as silver for DR purposes, and with the +3 enhancement, it can also overcome silver and/or cold iron DR. per the DR table in the glossary of the CRB :)
