Cool. I'm also going to follow Arasmes' suggestion and swap out the ring of protection for an amulet of natural armor if it's ok, and remove the medium tent from my equipment sheet. It weighs a ton, and I doubt that the camping in Abbadon is very good.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
For reference, Arasmes is revealing his face here, basically because it's something he does before working with people. After all, he doesn't want it to come as a surprise later. The comment just provided an excuse.
Which means everyone else except Rogar has seen it at least once, though likely not mucch more often than that.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
You didn't want to save it for the fifth chapter as a dramatic reveal?
Nah. Other stuff maybe, but I expect him to use his appearance on Intimidate fairly regularly, among other things. And he's already made a joke about it earlier, too. Also, the setup was irresitible.
(I swear I am not Elan.)
Heh. Nothing wrong with a good sense of dramatic timing. :)
So, I learned that rods don't fit up wrist sheathes, unless you're Bruce Lee. Also, don't eat expired yogurt. :|
...both important life lessons, I suppose.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
All right. Let me know when to commence the next morning.
If Petrova's cool with us glossing over the scene between her and Arasmes, and assuming Arasmes fully filled her in on what's up (and warned her that the rest of these people apparently think she's sleeping with him, and offered to make that true), we can do that right now, I think.
We can of course play through the scene (it'd even be fairly quick), but I think skipping it seems fine.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
And, scene.
Also, just for the record, at this point Arasmes isn't seriously flirting with Petrova so much as joking. His serious flirting is much less melodramatic and excessive. And he'd never lay a hand on her without permission, not his style, so the slapped hand is probably unnecessary. :)
Not that he'd turn her down if she started responding, mind you. It almost certainly started out serious and has sort of developed into this over time.

I used downornot.com to check, and called upon a friend who happens to be a Paizo geek and a computer geek (what are the chances?) to confirm. Paizo's FB page was also providing some funny updates on what was going on.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
Yeah, the site I checked said it was just me...so I was more than a bit worried it'd seem like I was flaking out on people. :(
At least it seems to be fixed now. Or it is for me, anyway. :)
On another subject entirely: Elusive Trout, how many Wands of Undetectable Alignment does Tikhade provide? Are we talking two, three, or what? It seems relevant.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
They haveone of those other than the Book of The Damned? I need it, methinks. Anyway, you would know about the general climate, which does tend to be on the chilly side, though it has many variances throughout the plane.
They do indeed. Pathfinder Chronicles: The Great Beyond. It's 3.5 not Pathfinder, system-wise, but then it contains very little in the way of systems.
It's probably not necessary for this game, though. I mean, it's got four pages on Abbadon plus a half-page map, and at least most of the areas described are in both it and the Book of the Damned vol. 3. So you'd be getting the map, which is handy, but not needed per se.

If we are emulating traders, I have a thought: we need something to cover up Rogar a bit; I know he just polished his plate, too! Hate to smear bootblack all over it. A cloak is easy enough. Some fake manacles and we can pretend he's a prisoner (a bit smaller than a Wookie).
Not to say that the rest of us look like daemons, but a paladin sticks out.
Arasmes Silvertongue |
And would a Paladin disguising his alignment break his Code of Ethics? Hadn't thought about that one either.
They have it on their spell list, so I think that's a definitive 'No.' :)
As for disguising his Plate...Arasmes wears Plate, too. As do some Antipaladins. Plate isn't suspicious on it's own...unless Rogar's is wrought with symbols of his god or somesuch. That might be problematic.
Though if we need it, Arasmes actually has 10 sets of manacles on his person (two of them Masterwork).
Kanthuun |
I always figured Antipaladin plate was black and jagged, but yeah. No one would believe a manacled paladin would be kept in plate and allowed to keep armor, though; we would have disarmed him and divvied up the loot. Maybe just a cloak.
The Elusive Trout |
It's fine, but I hadn't thought that Rogar would be wearing marked plate armor.
I assumed it was standard issue with a holy symbol detached.
Also, covering up one's holy symbol when on a mission like this is perfectly allowed. Defiling one's holy symbol is still a crime, but just hiding it to perform an act for the greater good is acceptable.
Rogar Stonecrusher |
Hmmmm, I'm beginning to suspect that I'll just drag the game down. I live in Australia, and am not always free to post much more then once or twice a day, but in the time I'm away the thread jumps forwards 20-30 posts.
Don't get me wrong, it's great that you've got an active group, but perhaps I'm not the best person for it.
I had thought of my holy symbom as hanging off a chain around his neck, as apposed to wraught into his armor (Although, that would be cool ;))
The Elusive Trout |
I don't have any problem with your lack of posting. I just worry that you feel cheated out of a better gaming experience. I mean, I'm in another supposedly active campaign and even the most active players have posted maybe twice since I started this campaign.
Everything is relative, and you post when you're able.
But are you having fun is the real question.
Hanethes Starsprings |
I also seem to be a less frequent poster. I usually only check the boards at the 6's. :) Noon, 6 PM, Midnight, and whenever I wake up. Some of my games have died down to 1 post a day by anyone at all. Others are 10 to 12 new posts everytime I check. Posting will slow over time, but if we need to, I find it easy to just call a halt in the gaming thread until everyone has caught up.
Kanthuun |
I don't think any game is expected to be more than once or twice a day post, eh? When we run into combat, we'll all have to wait in order of initiative anyhow. It should be fine, Rogar, and I think you should stay. When you aren't posting, I just imagine you standing there looking like your avatar. :)

Add me as another fan of our strong, silent dwarven compatriot. In other news, Drovya is kind of a jerk. Please let me know if it gets to be too much. Role-playing a low charisma can be tricky.
Kanthuun |
No worries, Drovya; a prickly lot of characters makes it more interesting.
Marching order, Companions of the Wayfinder? I'd say "Bladies first", but evil can hit us from any side. :) How about at least Rogar up front as he has the slowest move rate AND a blade? We can figure it out from there.
