Talon Skyfall |
Yea, he posted in one of his other games as of 6 hours ago.
Drovya Gregorovitch |
Maybe he's not getting updates to this campaign. Those little x's are way too easy to hit by mistake. Send him a message and find out if he's still game to game?
Haka Thunderfoot |
I've just today returned to civilization (from the wilds of Montana, Truchita!) and the prospect of semi-regular posting. Will be home Wednesday night and able to post reliably after that.
Haka Thunderfoot |
Apologies for crushing the 4th wall there, Truchita. I've been away so much, I wanted to make my return post entertaining (at least to me...) And I figured we're in a multi-planar milieu, so nightmares could leak in from lots of places.
The Elusive Trout |
It certainly wouldn't be cheaper in the short term, but a less scrupulous player at my real table at this point would take out a hammer and kill Han and Drovya, shrug at the horrified response, and then demand Rohini bring them back to life, citing the lack of planar travel means as justification.
Then again, another character would be trying hilarious folk remedies if given the chance (not that I would mind remotely), and then everyone would start bickering and this would degenerate into one of those nights where gaming would have to be abandoned and I turn on the tube.
Gracias a dios que (subj) this is the internets, and you have all the time in the world to think of something.
No worries, Haka. I'm more upset at you for causing me to google One Direction than your breaking of the fourth wall. They're not bad... but they're not really good, either. Well, that's how the situation can be viewed when you think in terms of the other monumental talent one could be indulging instead.
:)

So, I had a thought. Maybe Rohini could prepare a divination and ask Desna (aka Trouty) where and what the closest cure for Han and Drovya's condition might be...
Then the rest of you could try to procure it.
Or, maybe try lesser planar ally to summon a Janni to plane shift us back to Golarion or maybe a hound archon who could travel to Katapesh and back, get us some heal scrolls and bring them back.
Anyway, those are the ideas that occur to me.
Talon Skyfall |
Yes, One Direction, the true horror of Abbadon.
Rohini Soni |
Rohini wouldn't want their heads bashed in, and she can't raise them yet anyways. I like your ideas, Drovya. You're rather more virtuosic with the rules than I am. The divination idea would certainly occur to Rohini, and it is within her abilities to learn the spell if she rests. But she can't yet summon a lesser planar ally.
Do we currently have the ability to travel back to Katapesh on our own? I look forward to when Rohini can cast plane shift (although we would also need something like teleport to get us precisely to our target after the shift).
Haka Thunderfoot |
Wow, Drovya, those were some virtuosic solutions indeed. Haka will be happy to provide any needed musical accompaniment, but has little to offer in terms of getting us out of Dodge.
And speaking from the perspective of some of my darker characters: Murder is a very practical solution here.
Rohini Soni |
I was reading the entry for planar ally rather than lesser. Thanks for the help all. I don't have much experience playing a cleric, especially of this level. Please never hesitate from offering suggestions on the discussion page. Unless Trout disagrees, I think such suggestions really just make up for the gap between what Rohini knows and what her lowly player knows...
Drovya Gregorovitch |
Happy to help Ro. And, while I appreciate the thanks, really all I do is check the pfsrd. 9 times out of 10, the answer is right there. Anyway, with clerics, just remember one simple rule. As long as you have some time, you have all the spells!
Especially in pbp, if you're ever stumped, just check your spell list. Odds are, there's at least a partial answer there.
Rohini Soni |
You're right, Drovya, and good to know Trout. I'm GM my tabletop game tonight so I mostly won't be available, although I may be able to do a post after the game and certainly tomorrow.
Drovya Gregorovitch |
A few more thoughts.
1. It is also awesome that we have two 4th level pearls of power so Rohini only has to use 1 4th level spell slot for multiple castings of Lesser Planar Ally.
2. We should look for some way to insulate ourselves from the insanity of the pyramid. Boost will saves, maybe throw illusions on the walls so we can't see them, something.
3. When we go back in for the soulgem, we should all go together. No more splitting the party.
Drovya Gregorovitch |
He posted to the other game I'm in with him yesterday, so maybe he'll be back soon. I asked him to check in in that thread anyway.
Rohini Soni |
Good thoughts on preparations for our return. This is part of why it would be good if we could all go to Katapesh -- to better re-equip.
Also of course right that Rohini needs to be careful about spell selection to make sure there are some utilities to help if we get dumped somewhere inhospitable -- although empty spell slots may serve the purpose there.
I keep thinking there must be some fast way to move overland other than teleport! I just haven't had time to consult the spellbooks.

Ok, so I found something we should definitely try to have Haka get while he's in Katapesh. Meditation Tea, at 30gp a pop, this stuff is pretty amazing. 10 minute +2 alchemical bonus to saves vs. mind-affecting effects, and if you get hit with a mind-affecting effect, you can drink the tea and get an immediate re-roll with the +2 bonus. We might even be able to cure Drovya and Hanethes with this stuff. Stack that with guidance, bit of luck, bardic performance, maybe an owl's wisdom, and a saving finale and we've got a decently effective method of counteracting insanity. We might even be able to find it in the camp. So, there's that.
Drovya Gregorovitch |
W/B Hanethes. Your character went crazy in your absence, but aside from that, all's well!
Hanethes Starsprings |
Really? Well, one doesn't breach the borders between planes of existence without suffering some mental fatigue.
135 Posts? Geesh.... I may have to get to them on Wednesday (my next day off from work).
