Hey Rohini, can you put your Hero Lab stat output on your profile, so that we may peruse your gear and spell list? Go through your pockets for loose change?

No problem, Kanthuun. I'm not a dm-against-the-players, but this campaign is supposed to be difficult, combat-wise, so letting you run around unprepared isn't doing anyone any favors. Besides, you were going to level anyway.

Oh, and the two of us are in a RotRL pbem on Yahoo.

Anyone have any problem with me just moving things forward, then, to your side quest? Or are you going to do anything else to prepare?

I thought maybe we scout it out a bit, Hanethes and The Shadow Dancer being super sneaky types. Do we have any divination magic? Maybe scry them if we can.

Oh, and did Rohini prepare any different spells for the day than are listed on her sheet?

I want to move forwards, but I still need to know which objective has been agreed upon. If you go to the nest, I will place you far enough away that you can prepare/scout. If you're hurrying after the main objective, I'll get that ready instead.

Hey all. SOrry I missed these discussion posts. For some reason I didn't get the numerical flag indicating there were new posts in the discussion thread. Anyhow, I will post more stats in Rohini's profile (is there some easy way to do this if I've made her on Hero Lab?). Also, yes, I do have some changes to spell selection, plus a few small skills tweaks that I made but neglected to send Trout the revised PDF before we got started. I'll do all that, but it may take a few days...

What I need most quickly are the spells, m'friend.

I don't think there's an easy way to do the other thing, I'm afraid. However, in order to play through the level, I'll keep track of your basics until you're ready to fix things.

I'd still love to keep things moving, though.

Come later into this adventure, I'll make a map if it seems necessary. Just with paint, though, so nothing too fancy.

On Trout's fantasy illustrators question, I like Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, and Kay Nielsen. More along the lines of classic fairy tales illustration, but some of it may be along the lines You're looking for, and all are quite distinctive.

Brian Froud is fairly safe. Rackham is great!

Talking is a free action, as are reasonable reactions. I ruled that the surprise round had to be over to make knowledge checks off of a rule that I mistook. Kanthuun and Rohini can let off at any time.

Thanks. In reference to Rohini's suggestion, I think Hanethes can withdraw even though he's staggered. From the Pathfinder Reference Doc: "Restricted Withdraw: If you are limited to taking only a standard action each round you can withdraw as a standard action. In this case, you may move up to your speed."

You are correct; Hanethes can take a restricted withdrawal action.

Ha! That's not how DR works, Kanthuun, although now I'm wondering what would happen if Rohini cast align weapon on Black Ivan.

Black Ivan would likely be very angry about it.
However, an evil weapon wouldn't overcome the dr anymore than any non-good aligned weapon.
Even if it is mithral. If it were a daemon spider, you guys would have it made.

Rohini does have 2 scrolls of align weapon, and she can memorize the spell next time, although I think one would want to wait until a pretty dire moment to use it on Drovya's sword. By the way, I'm sorry if I haven't properly maximized my spell selection -- I'm always open to suggestions (and to using the scrolls).

On a related issue, would spiritual weapon create a good-aligned sword? This part seems to suggest so: "The weapon that you get is often a force replica of your deity's own personal weapon. A cleric without a deity gets a weapon based on his alignment. A neutral cleric without a deity can create a spiritual weapon of any alignment, provided he is acting at least generally in accord with that alignment at the time." In any event, would spiritual weapon ignore the DR even if it isn't aligned: "It strikes as a spell, not as a weapon, so for example, it can damage creatures that have damage reduction"? Rohini probably would save the spell for a later combat, especially because she'll be busy helping Hanethes, but it would be good for me to make sure I understand how it works.

The only problem with spiritual weapon is that it still needs to get through the spider's spell resistance, so you've got around a 50% chance that your spell does nothing.

Spiritual weapons share the alignment of the caster's deity, as far as I can tell.

Edit: Screwed that up on the first typing. Multitasking like crazy over here.

I hear you on the SR, Drovya. That will be a big problem with the Daemons too.
