Oops. I'm so sorry. I'll sort that at once. I misread the "5" for a "2". Map amended to remove L5

In her eagerness to finish the heretic, Mirth's assault on H2 goes wide. If trees could suffer nightmares, some of them would be sleepless, but the heretic is unharmed.

S1 heads towards Snaggletooth, but the mightly scimitar blow does little damage.
S1 v Snaggletooth (1d20+13=32, 1d8+4=5). 5hp damage to Snaggletooth.

S2 attacks Caine once more before shifting away, backing up the hill.

Have my RL game here in a bit so posting early.

Hurt and burning, Brujo launches himself at the Heretic. A dangerous look in his eyes as he strikes

Move to M3; Aegis of Shielding on H3; Pressing Strike, shift to K5, on H3 1d20+10=27' Damage 1d8+5=9 cold, and H3 is pushed to I5

Failed the save. Currently at 43hp

Been having trouble getting access to the message board so will post Leo's actions now in case of further problems: Leo moves to K-10 and attack H#1 with Righteous Smite: 1d20+11 to hit: 17+11 for 28 to hit doing 2d8+5 damage: 7+4+5 for 16pts of damage to Heretic#1 if I'm right and any ally including Leo gains 7 temporary hp as long as they're within 5 squares of him from my count only Brujo and Erik are out of range, rolled a 19 for the save do I still deduct another 5 dmg or would that only have applied if he hadn't passed the save?

Leo shrugs himself as his first foe vanishes in front of him as suddenly another foe successfully hits him with what looks like a ball of fire!
Trying to smother the flames he still heads straight for the nearest foe and calling upon his faith his sword glitters with silver as he slashes at this foe...
"Kelemvor sends his regards villain!" Leo growls.

Used move and standard action employ minor action to divine challenge Shadowblade#1 to draw it away from Snaggletooth

Duly noted, Leo and Brujo. I'll stitch it all in. Perigia - are you bloodied? It makes a difference to tiefling attacks.

Yes Perigia is bloodied. Perigia will kove back to Q11 and cast Chill Strike on S2. 1d20+8,2d8+4=[15, 8], [4, 3, 4] 23 to hit, 11 cold damage, and S2 is dazed until the end of Perigia's next turn.

On my turn

Minor Action - Activate Encouraging Stance

Move Action - Shift to M7

Brash Assault vs.S2 1d20+12=29, Damage 1d8+6=12

Again S2 can make an attack vs. Caine, but Perigia again can make a free attack vs. S2

"You shall not escape my justice!"

8 Temp HP to Perigia, as per Encouraging Stance

Everyone is encouraged to use their Action Points.

Icy shards from around S2's feet and he is dazed by the speed and ferocity of the genasi's attack. Perigia herself prudently moves away from the centre of the melee.

Leo lunges at the nearest heretic and is unsurprised when the tiefling vanishes from sight yet again, only to reappear in the cover of the nearby trees. He can nonetheless take comfort from the fact that he both hit the heretic and extinguished the flames surrounding him. His activities offer solace to some of his companions.

Snaggletooth, Caine and Mirth get 7 temp hp.

Leo - you always take ongoing damage at the start of your turn, so you will take 5 regardless of the save you make at the end of your turn. The only exceptions are wardens. They have a class feature allowing them to make a save at the start as well as the end of their turns.

Brujo hurls himself at H3, a frenzied, burning fury and watches in disgust as his opponent vanishes from sight, infernal fire glowing in his eyes.

H1 sends more balefire streaking towards Leo and misses.
H1 v Leo Balefire (Ref). On hit, target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se). (1d20+9=12, 1d8+5=8)

H2 circles the trees and targets Perigia, hoping to use her bloodied weakness against her.
H2 v Perigia Balefire (Ref). On hit, target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se). (1d20+10=30, 1d8+5=12). Crit. 8 fire damage to Perigia (after her resistance).

H3 hurls balefire at the beleaguered kobold, adding searing flames to the problems he already faces.
H3 v Snaggletooth Balefire (Ref). On hit, target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se). (1d20+9=27, 1d8+5=7). 7hp damage to Snaggle, 5 ongoing fire (se). Wipes out Leo's temp hp.

CLERIC!

Rev

Spoiler:
I have been keeping up with Perigia's hit points on her profile, so you only need to check that if you have any questions.

Perigia, stay alive until I can use 'Stand the Fallen' next round. Every ally within 10 squares of Caine gets to use a healing surge + 3.

(Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc)

Let it be noted that I did, in fact, heal Perigia in my last post and put all of the results in bold. She should be in pretty decent shape with the regular HP and the temporary HP I gave her. To recap, she got a surge+6 and also gained 4 temporary HP. That last attack on her should have only done 4 total damage. I believe that puts her around 32 HP.

Real post will go up in about an hour when I get to work.

Also, who bloodied S2? I need to know who bloodies or drops each enemy so I know when to use my Virtue of Valor.

(Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc)

Erik rushes forward to engage S2, smiling and singing a song of battle. With a flourish he thrusts his songblade deep and true, sending forth words of magic down its length and into the cut. The strike deeply wounds the tiefling and helps to inspire the bard's allies.

With a smile Erik adds, "Starting to regret your wicked ways yet?"

Move Action: Move to M8.

Standard Action: War Song Strike vs. S2; 32 CRIT vs. AC, for 1d8+5+1d8=20 total damage and anyone who hits S2 before the end of my next turn gains 3 temporary hit points.

Perigia bloodied S2.

Rest of update follows shortly.

With a song on his lips and destruction in his blade, Erik's question to the shadowblade goes unanswered as his blow, combined with Caine's mighty strike finish his enemy.

Caine's was the killing blow to S2.

where are the lackeys on the init list? Not that I really care. 5 hp damage from the ongoing fire, standard-riposte strike on L2, d20+11 vs AC, 28, if hit, 5hp damage, minor- shift to E9, move-F10,G11,H12,I13,J14,J15. (I want to see if an unarmed guy can make a opportunity attack against me. See if I understand the rules as well as I think. No weapon, no melee basic attack, right? That's why they teleport away when you hit them. They are all about ranged attacks.) save= 11

"These archers are weak! I already killed two of them." Snaggletooth calls out to his friends while quickly dispatching another lackey. minions, anyone? Dispite taking more fire damage, he then moves around the shadowblade and down the hill. The flaming kobold runs straight at one of the heretics like he is going to bear hug him, but swerves out of the way at the last second. He rolls on the ground and comes up in a guarded position, ready to strike the heretic if he moves or attacks. "I kill you, robed one, for burning me like that." He snarls at the heretic.

REV
the fire damage just bloodied me. :(

Bum. How in blazes did I manage to lose 6 lackeys? Go me. I put it down to the lack of sleep due to some dimblebrains from the council deciding that 7pm-2am was the optimal time to dig up the road in front of our house... Ahem. Anyway, back they go and they'll get their turn in due time.

Snaggletooth dispatches another lackey and hurtles down the hill, flaming as he launches himself at the heretic. As he passes, a wickedly sharp dagger slides out from the robes and jabs deftly into the kobold.

"We shall see who kills first, little reptile."

Spoiler:

crap. I thought they were unarmed. it was going to be as easy as picking the pocket of an armless man. oh, well. more damage to me. could the lackeys make OAs, since they are using two-handed ranged weapons? just curious.

Snaggletooth

Spoiler:
Anyone can make an OA, but if it's unarmed (like the kobolds back in Spellgard tower) they only hit at whatever strength mod they have and do 1d4 of damage. The Lackeys would be lashing out at you with their bows or fists.

Apologies for the delay.

Tail swinging, Mirth oozes past Perigia and finds a way into H2's mind again. She smiles sweetly as her target screams once as mental horror takes it and the heretic falls dead.
Illusory Ambush v H2 (Will) (1d20+9=25, 1d6+6=9)

The remaining shadowblade hurtles towards Leo, scimitar held high. The momentum gained from running down the hill gives his attack force and even Leo's skill is not enough to evade the blow.

Free Action: Virtue of Valor; Perigia gains 4 temporary hit points.

Leo shifts to get his breath back keeping his opponent on his toes as he does so.

Shift to K#9 unless doing so counts as difficult terrain in which case he remains where he is and employs Second Wind to gain +2 to all defences and recover hits

"I think Snaggletooth could use a hand!" Leo calls over to the others.

Leo shifts aside (no penalty, it's not difficult terrain) and catches his breath. As he does so, another two bowmen emerge from the mouth of the strange carving and a hail of arrows fly towards Brujo, the unextinguished flames making him an easy target.

IC is down, so I'm having to home roll these - apologies.

Have to run to the store. I'll post when I get back

Brujo takes off with a burst of speed headed for the lackey

Pressing Strike on L6, shifting to I5, 1d20+10=27; Damage 1d8+5=13 cold, and L6 is pushed to G3.

Seeing the lackey fall to the ground with grunt Brujo lauches himself at the heretic

Move to F4

Save vs Burn-Y-ness, 1d20=1. Currently at 38

Flaming horribly, Brujo pelts up the hill, casually eviscerating a bowman as he does so and prepares to confront a heretic.

H1 nimbly shifts away from Snaggletooth and tries unavailingly to see the kobold aflame once more.
Balefire (Ref) v Snaggletooth - on hit target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se) (1d20+10=14, 1d8+5=10)

H3 backs towards the mouth and aims another bolt of infernal flame at Brujo. He has much greater success and smiles widely as the swordmage is once more engulfed in flame.
Balefire (Ref) v Snaggletooth - on hit target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se) (1d20+10=14, 1d8+5=10). 10hp damage to Brujo - which bloodies him I believe.

um, something not right in last post, DM lady. did you cut and paste? Or did you throw Brujo's name and 'swordmage' in when you meant lil' ol' me? Just checking to see if I am aflame again.

(Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc)

Erik strides further up the hill to assist Leo, humming a tune all the while. He boldly circles around the tiefling, daring it to hit him with Leo's divine mark set firmly in place.

"Caine, I will help our kobold friend. Why don't you lend your own aid to Brujo?"

Erik then swirls his sword around, collecting the magical notes from his battle song and then thrusts the blade towards S1. Then, with the last note collected from the song, Erik sends words of magical inspiration out to the bloodied Snaggletooth.

Move Action: Move to I11

Standard Action: War Song Strike vs. S1; 31 vs. AC for 9 damage and anyone who hits S1 before the end of my next turn gains 3 temporary hit points.

Minor Action: Majestic Word on Snaggletooth; Snaggletooth may spend a healing surge plus 5 extra hit points. He may also have a free 1 square slide if he wishes.

Rev: I purposely provoked an opportunity attack to gain flanking and possibly set off Leo's mark. The tiefling may attack me with a -2 but he'll take damage from the mark.

(Male Kobold Rogue 6)

"Thanks, Pretty Man. Your music make me feel better." Snaggletooth calls out to Erik.

with that +18hp (surge+5), I am now at 34hp and no longer bloodied. and I think I will take that slide. slide to I15. Rev, this is assuming that you accidently cut and pasted my name into the attack on Brujo.

oh, and Erik, Caine mentioned he was going to use 'stand the fallen' this turn. If he does, everyone (w/in 10sq) will get to use a surge + his Cha mod for healing. He may not need to, now, and if he wants to get into range for an inspiring word on Brujo, he could.

Snaggletooth wrote:

I know what happened. IC has lately not been copying automatically when clicking. Brujo was hit for 10hp and got Snaggletooth's roll attached to him. Thank you for checking.

Just to confirm: H1 missed Snaggletooth, H3 hit Brujo for 10hp
Balefire (Ref) v Brujo - on hit target takes 5 ongoing fire damage (se) (1d20+9=24, 1d8+5=10). ]The roll that hit Brujo.

The shadowblade tries and fails to attack Erik as the bard saunters past him. Not only does he fail to hit, but Leo's divine challenge scourges him as well.
Shadowblade OA on Erik (1d20+9=15, 1d8+4=7)

Erik's healing song miraculously closes over some of Snaggletooth's wounds and the kobold eases closer to his heretic prey.

MAP

Caine thunders up the hill towards the nearest bowman, but slips on fallen leaves and his blow goes wide. Pulling himself upright, he calls across to Brujo.

On her turn Perigia casts Acid Arrow at H3, and makes a secondary attack on L4 1d20+8=27, 1d20+8=16 vs. Ref to hit. 2d8+6=17 acid damage vs. H3 and 5 ongoing (SE). 1d8+6=14 acid damage vs. L$ and 5 ongoing (SE).

All noted Perigia. Mirth has another couple of hours left to check in and then I'll roll for her and move us along.

Confident that she can find her way into the shadowblade's worst nightmares, Mirth spins and flicks a desultory finger in his direction. She's right and the shadowblade flinches away as something dark and horrible emerges from his psyche and hinders his attacks.

Hampered though he is, the shadowblade tries to answer Leo's challenge. His skill is not enough. Reluctantly, but wanting to fight another day, he shifts down the hill, away from the flanking due of Leo and Erik.
Shadowblade v Leo (1d20+9=15, 1d8+4=12)

Perigia finds her rhythm now and acid arrows neatly target two foes at once as neither the battered heretic nor the lackey can withstand her attacks. The lackey dissolves under the force of the acid, but the heretic is made of sterner stuff.

Erik, seeing no reason to go against a good strategy, moves around S1 again, attempting to provoke Kelemvor's wrath upon the tiefling once again.

With a flourish and a hum from his songblade, Erik slices at the tiefling.

Move Action: Move to J12, K12

Standard Action: Guiding Strike vs. S1; 17 vs. AC for 6 damage and on a hit, S1 takes a -2 penalty to AC until the end of my next turn.

Rev, same deal again. Purposely hoping to provoke Leo's mark in order to heap on the damage because I doubt that attack hit.

The shadowblade can't resist the opportunity to lash out at Erik as the songblade wielder glides past him. He misses, and retribution follows as Leo's link with Kelemvor ignites once more.

OA missed and divine challenge kicks in with damage to S1. Nasty tactic and good thinking there, that bard. Grrrh.
