Kelemvor pulls Leo back from the brink of infection, but Brujo is not so lucky. His previous exposure has left him vulnerable.
No further effects for you Leo unless you are hit by another infected monster. If that happens, you are at risk from infection after two hits.
Brujo. Lose a healing surge and don't regain it when you next take an extended rest. At the start of any encounter, roll a d20. On an odd number you can act normally. On an even number you are dazed (se).
Just a swift reminder of what the amulet you found is and does. Who has this at the moment? Someone should probably be using it as it's (obviously!) extremely powerful.
Dreamstone Amulet (level 12)
Item slot - neck
Enhancement: +3 Fort/Ref/Will
Property: while asleep, you don't take the -5 penalty to Perception checks.
Power (daily) minor: use this power to remove the blinded condition and gain blindsight until the end of your next turn
Perigia has it. and doesn't mage hand lift 20 lbs? Unless the box is heavier than that, she should be able to lift it and bring it to her. I don't think she IDed the amulet, so she wasn't wearing it, but she should be now.
Perigia will open the box with Mage Hand and lift out the contents. Then she will examine both the contents and the cloak by making an Arcana check. 1d20+12=21Also, unless anyone else wants it, Perigia will go ahead and put on the amulet.
Perigia gathers the contents of the box and draws it towards her. She holds a bar of forged dreamstone which vibrates slightly in her hands, seeking to form a shape.
As the properties of the Dreamer's regalia become clear to her, she shudders slightly as she becomes aware of the possible dangers.
Spoiler:
Resplendent Cloak
Level: 8
Item Slot: Neck
Enhancement: +2 Fortitude, Reflex, and Will
Property: You and each ally within 10 squares of you gain a +2 bonus to Will against charm, fear, and illusion attacks.
The dreamstone weapon chooses the form most appropriate to the wielder. It will form itself into any type of melee weapon, but once formed, will not change again.
Property: Anyone who touches a dreamstone weapon hears whispers in Deep Speech that portend the coming of great star entities and the end of the world. When a wielder swings a dreamstone weapon, the weapon audibly gives voice to the wielder’s thoughts, which typically means murderous ideas when the wielder is engaged in battle, in the same susurrant voice but in the speaker’s native tongue.
Power (Daily): Free Action. Use this power when you attack with the weapon. Attack Will instead of the defense the attack normally targets.
Spellscarred characters using this weapon are subject to random penalties. Spellscarred and spellplagued monsters will focus attacks on characters wielding this weapon.
Non-spellscarred characters draw attention from spellscarred and spellplagued monsters which will focus attacks on them.
"I will take short sword." Snaggletooth eyes grow wide as he looks at the weapon. His hand reaches out to touch it and he looks at the others. "Unless someone else want it more?" You can tell by the look on his face that he is only being polite.
my native tongue is draconic. in my hands, the blade will speak draconic as I strike, but at the same time, it is not very stealthy and an extra +1 will not mean a whole lot to me. The whole attacks Will with melee attacks is pretty sweet, though, as all my attacks are AC-based. Erik, you and I are only +1 weapons here, it should be you or I, I think. Speak up. As for the cloak, anybody getting hit a lot with Will, Ref, or Fort- based attacks. Anyone could use the +2 to defenses, unless they already have something like Erik does. THe thief in me wants to claim it all, but this is a team effort. Should we discuss this over on the discussion page?
I have book-marked a draconic translator in case Snaggletooth ends up with the Dreamblade. It has to be your call as a group where you think items should go. After all, things like the cloak and amulet can always be swapped around. The weapon, once settled into a form, stays that way, so is potentially less flexible.

Go ahead and take the sword. I'm going to stick to my songblade as it applies to both melee and implement attacks. Taking the sword would boost my weapon attacks but lower my implement attacks.
Erik smiles and waves off the offer of the sword.
"My songblade has served me well far too long to simply abandon it. I will part with it only if I find a better one of its kind. My sword and I are in perfect harmony."
Erik then snaps the flexible blade sharply to his side and sings a harmonious note along with the blade to demonstrate.
Snaggletooth touches the metal bar, and a strange voice starts to speak in a unknown language. Snaggletooth almost drops the weapon, but he holds on tight. The metal twists and slowly reforms to a short sword. Snaggletooth smiles at his new weapon. He looks up at the others. "Now I ready to take on bad guys."
if nobody else claims it, Snaggletooth will don the cloak and move towards the south door.
The door opens easily and you stand in a short stretch of corridor leading to a flight of well worn stone stairs. The light, as everywhere in the complex, has a blue glow to it, but doesn't afford concealment unless you are, like Snaggletooth, taking pains to avoid being seen.
"Say password now?" Snaggletooth whispers to Perigia. "Everyone need to say it?"
I can't remember what the groom said. I think he said after the stairs. be ready. Snaggle stays behind Perigia, using her for concealment to hide. Stealth=31
A reminder of Gratitude's actual words for reference.
Password: "The heart bleeds and the Dreamer will wake".
Right then. Through the door in directly in front of you. Show the medallion to the statue yada, yada, yada - you know all that stuff. Walk on the eyestones through the Dreamer's rainment ... I always think that's the wrong way around. Down the stairs and say the password to get through the hanged ones. None of us want to join them, right! Over the scythes. I don't know what's behind those panels, and I don't want to. There you are, in the tomb itself. Tonight's the big night, so Volkanth will be there, preparing. Does that all sound right to you?
Perigia repeats the words and walks down the stairs?
Please note, darker lines are supposed to represent walls.
The chamber that greets Perigia's gaze is marked by open arched doors. The familiar motif of eyes with flames is strongly represented here, forming an eerie border. At the centre of the room, a pool of still water reflects the flickering, ever-present blue of the walls and strange torches.
Snaggletooth can see all this too, of course, but I somehow imagine he's hiding behind Perigia's cloak.
There is no apparent change as the kobold utters the necessary phrase.
I thought we were at the bottom of stairs on our way to the pool room. but if we make it to the southern doorway untouched, I will say the password again. and poke Perigia in the ribs to do the same.
As you pass under the arch, uttering the password, a faint noise makes you look upwards. Bodies are suspended, gently twitching and twirling above you. As your foot passes over the threshold they drop forming a forest of slowly spinning horror, dead eyes gazing into yours.
With the speaking of the password however, the nooses and the bodies attached to them part to grant you passage.
An arcana check DC10 (which Perigia can't fail) tells you that you need to speak the password on every new square. You imagine the effect of many spellscarred souls walking this room making a river of sound in within the complex.
Snaggletooth quickly looks back before entering room and yells, "say password on every square in pool room."
He then starts chanting the password in order to move with it to the next square.
"The heart bleeds and the Dreamer will wake" pause, step
"The heart bleeds and the Dreamer will wake" pause, step
"The heart bleeds and the Dreamer will wake" pause, step
He does this 15 times to get to the other door, draging Perigia with him, nodding his head to encourage her to join in. (along the perimeter)
Snaggletooth and Perigia exhale gently as the hanging bodies on their nooses part gently before them. As they leave the chamber, the gruesome hanged ones rise slowly towards the ceiling once more and the pair find themselves looking down a short corridor leading to another flight of steps.
At the bottom of the next flight of steps you see a heavy door locked with the same medallion mechanism you have seen and used throughout the complex.
You didn't touch the water at all did you?
Erik Annadar(Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc)
Erik waits behind patiently with the others, keeping his ears open for the slightest hint of trouble. One hand rests tensely on the hilt of his songblade.
"How long should we wait for them?" Erik asks from those around him.
"stay away from pool." Snaggletooth calls helpfully to the others. "we make it safe. use password on every square to get past the hanged ones."
Erik Annadar(Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc)
Erik looks about at the companions gathered around him, nods, and makes his way after Perigia and Snaggletooth. He will follow their directions accordingly.

Unless they tell me otherwise, Brujo and Caine will also be coming along.
Following Snaggletooth and Perigia's instructions, the group re-assemble after successfully negotiating the room of the hanged ones. Behind you, the water lies still and inviting. Before is another staircase and at its foot, a wooden door.
The door opens to reveal a circular chamber largely consisting of a deep pit. The dim flickering blue that pervardes the complex makes it impossible to judge how deep without an additional light source.
On either side of the pit are stone platforms. To one end of each a mechanism is clearly visible. The reason for such a mechanism (and indeed the only obvious way to cross the pit) is the enormous set of scythes set in the centre.
More ominously, upright stone sarcophagi also adorn the platforms.
You notice that both platforms and the scythe blades are slightly damp.
Snaggletooth looks at the platforms, the scythes, and then the door behind him again. "We miss something? Why everything so wet? Where water come from?"
I think Rev is trying to tell us something (or lead us into a trap). Fortunately, I grew on Zork and other text based computer games. (yes, I am that old) I am going to try something. If it works, cool, if not, then I am the only one trapped (I hope)
He looks back to the hallway and the stairs. "Water come from pool, maybe? Water needed to go on, maybe?" He thinks for a moment. "Leo, you know religion, right? You servant of Big Death God. Cronin not here or I ask him. Do religious people use water sometimes before rituals? Do they get wet for some reason?"
somebody answer the question, please. I don't want to metagame, but I am going to baptize myself with the scary clear pool water from the other room. It something happens, we'll know it was a trap. If not, we all might want to do it. Why else would everything from that room to here be damp? Rain? I don't think so.
Someone roll a religion check please, so Snaggletooth has some information to back his hunch.
Leo's quick eyes rapidly assess the mechanisms and he sees that turning them will also turn the scythes. Combined with Erik's earlier information that this place was once an observatory, he concludes that originally the central column might have operated a sliding panel at the top of the complex, designed to reveal the stars.
Now however, he sees that it has been put to the simpler purpose of turning the scythes. They can be turned to align with the platforms, allowing a safe, if frightening, passage over the pit.
