The discussion thread is up. Spectators are welcome to say "hi" and offer encouragement to the PCs. If spectator activity gets too high, I'll create a Spectator Thread.

Dennis Harry, FireclawDrake, Jonasty1031, Shisumo, and Stiehl9s: Welcome to the game. Feel free to goof off, strategize, and talk mechanics, here. Keep your OOC spoilered or tagged in the Gameplay Thread.

I'll be going over some game details here, later on. How we're handling rolls, etc.

In the meantime, finalize your characters, and feel free to ask questions, shoot the breeze, or offer up suggestions as to tones and styles that you enjoy in a campaign.

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

Quick question as I'm doing my equipment Garden - should I make the checks to add any scroll I'm buying to my spellbook? Or should I simply assume I was able to scribe them successfully and take off the appropriate costs (ink + scroll)?

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Hello all. Excited to get started with this game, everyone's characters sound like they will be interesting to game with. The profile is coming along although the work computer won't let me browse through the avatar images so the pic won't be up till tonight when I get home.

Questions:
- Are we going to start off knowing each other or are we all meeting for the first time? If some of us are starting off with previous meetings, does anyone want to work with me on a possible colaboration?
- Garden Tool: I haven't decided yet if I'm going to but in the Gunslinger section, it says I can sell my starting gun for scrap only, getting 4d10gp in value from it. Should I choose to do this, would you like me to just roll it here in the OOC thread to determine what I get for it, or would you rather assign me a specific amount?

Campaign tones and styles:
I generally enjoy most all styles and tones when it comes to a campaign. One thing I really enjoy in any game I'm in though is travel/exploration. The worlds we play in, whether Golarion or Eberron or Faerun, etc are always so unique and interesting and I like to explore them in character. While I can enjoy and appreciate a somewhat static game in one location, I do like getting to experience everything a game world has to offer. This might explain why in games I run, adventures can often lead to planar journeys. This is not a request necessarily for a plane-hopping campaign, I know some people aren't fond of that, this is more just illustrating my point.

So once again, I'm super excited to be a part of this and feel free to ask me anything.

Dark Archive

Just a few points I'd like to open up for discussion:

ALIGNMENT & TONE: In case there is anyone to whom it has not occurred: Our party is decidedly non-good:

Syndir Apep: LN monk/sorcerer
Kamlann - LE magus
Farid Heydar - CN barbarian/rogue
Seamus Haggrathy - CN gunslinger
Jelani Guldis - LN cleric of Nethys/wizard

So that's interesting.

PARTY COHESION: Here are some thoughts I've had on party cohesion and backstory tie-ins.

According to Dennis Harry's backstory, Farid failed his rites of passage as a graduated-adult of one of the Quadiran barbarian tribes, and fled to the city after being outcast. A wealthy Quadiran house purchased him as a slave, but he eventually escaped.

I'm thinking that wealthy Quadiran house ought to be the same noble house that Syndir is on the run from. Syndir's father (and the none-too-kind patron of the house that Farid toiled so hard under) may or may not be dead, but dead or alive... Syndir and Farid may have enemies in common.

They likely know one another, but it's unlikely that either took much notice of the other (unless someone has a neat idea for a deeper relationship between these two characters) during Farid's time as a house servant.

Kamlann and Jelani could easily be in pursuit of something. For seperate sponsors, perhaps, but working together out of convenience. Maybe not an artifact... not something that only one of them could walk away with. Maybe something less substantial. Some kind of information?

Maybe something known to Syndir's noble house?

Seamus is easy to fit in, in a mercenary capacity.

Thoughts?

Dark Archive

@ Jelani: For the purposes of character creation only, assume success and just pay the costs. Don't forget the "freebies" you get with each new level.

@ Seamus: See my thoughts, above, about cohesion and starting relationships. For the purposes of character creation, assume the "average" roll of 22 gp (5.5 x 4).

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Regarding the character cohesion, I agree Seamus is an easy fit into any group that comes up. "Will there be gold, loot and a chance to make my name? Then sign me up."

As for the gun sell, avg it is. Still debating on if I will do that or not but now I've got numbers to work with.

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

Posting my list of scrolls purchased here so as to make it so they don't clutter my inventory up.
@Garden Tool: I remember :D. Still only added up to 8 though.

Scroll of Stumble Gap (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Comprehend Languages (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of See Alignment (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Moment of Greatness (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Vanish (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Ventriloquism (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Expeditious Retreat (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Feather Fall (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Touch of Gracelessness (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Vocal Alteration (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Identify (scribed), 25+10gp
Scroll of Charm Person (scribed), 25+10gp

As far as character cohesion, as a worshipper of Nethys, Jelani doesn't hold any great respect for someone who cannot excercise magic on their own, seeing them as lesser. Luckily, Kamlann has studied magic as well, and so has earned Jelani's respect. It would be very easy for me to see them working together to start, though Jelani's only real goal is the overthrow of his cousin., and that's a rather long-term goal.

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Garden Tool: In the character creation section you mention not worrying about non-mundane ammo tracking and to just track a single full quiver on a character sheet for weight purposes.

Given the specialized nature of the ammo and it's higher difference in cost, my assumption is that I will need to be more specific with my ammo for the Gunslinger. I'm fine with this, it adds to the character of the class but I just wanted to confirm with you first. A lot of my shopping will be based around how much ammo I need and can carry so I want to make sure I'm clear on everything.

Sweet! Im definitely excited about this game. Thanks for the nod Garden Tool. 'Suspicious Minds' is too cool.

as to synched backgrounds with Farid - I like this idea. Perhaps Farid and his friend Amin used the day of Syndir's temper tantrum to make their escape? Although since Syndir spent most of the time up until that day at the academy Im not sure how much they wouldve know each other prior to that. And not to disrupt Fadir's great backstory perhaps they met up later after Amin betrayed him? Recognition ensued and with a common enemy that the two men men shared a partnership was easy to make.

I'll brainstorm some more on that regards.

As for gamestyle I like an equal mix of combat and Roleplaying. Would definitely prefer that there's a bunch of IC convo and interaction and not posts with just a skill check or attack/damage rolls. I really dig a horror aspect and the thought of playing 'on the run' is appealing as well.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian 1 / Rogue 3 | HP 35 | AC 15 | FF 13, T 12 | F+7 R +4 W+2 | Init +5 | Per +4 | CMD 16 | Speed 40'

I love the idea of a shared backstory with another character. My background can easily be changed to fit in a meeting with Syndir.

Perhaps the person who gave me the tip about Amin journeying to the Inner Sea was Syndir whether he had an actual tip or just wanted a companion/guide to aid him can be his call. This way we can actually start the campaign journeying together instead of having to introduce all of us to one another at the same time.

I also need to put the finishing touches on my character which I will get to tomorrow (I am running my table top game tonight after work).

I also like a mixed gaming style combat/roleplay. I don't mind a more roleplaying centric campaign either.

Dark Archive

@ Seamus: It seems that part of the balancing factor of firearms is their expense, and - as with character creation - firearms will be the "exception to the rule" when it comes to the expense and tracking of ammunition.

However, I find the costs of bullets and pellets to be trivial enough that I'd prefer to dismiss them, as I have done with arrows and bolts. Your carrying capacity should include the 1/2-pound weight of a pack of bullets or pellets, however.

Black powder and/or metal cartridges are much more expensive (10-15 gp per shot), and should be tracked and purchased.

@ Farid: Your backstory mentioned a "note," presumably left for you by Amin, which Farid could not read. Has Farid since learned to read, or would you prefer that Farid remain illiterate? Was Farid ever able to discern the contents of the note?

Good luck with gunslinger! I've heard a lot of people have had trouble with this class? I was unawares

Dark Archive

@ Jelani: Unless you'd prefer to, don't worry about tracking spellbook pages. The wizard is an excercise in bookkeeping as it is, and tracking the availibility of spellbook pages has never made a game more interesting or fun.

Feel free to carry more than one spellbook, by all means, if you prefer not to put all your eggs in one basket. If you do, just specify which spells are in which books.

@ Everyone: I'm going to mull over some ideas for a starting region later on.

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

GT: Sounds good on the bullets/pellets. I will track alchemical rounds and black powder accordingly but I'll assume bullets are easy enough to disregard the price per above.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian 1 / Rogue 3 | HP 35 | AC 15 | FF 13, T 12 | F+7 R +4 W+2 | Init +5 | Per +4 | CMD 16 | Speed 40'

I would prefer that Farid remain illeterate for now. I don;t think he would have had a chance to learn to read at any point based on his cover as a caravan guard. Perhaps as part of the story he can learn how to read.

He has never discerned what the note said as he is too proud to admit that he can't read! That is part of the dilemma for him learning as well, he would have to admit to a weakness which he is not fond of doing.

Plus it is a lot more fun that way as it will hopefully give you something good to cook up for Farid.

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

@GT: Thanks, I wasn't looking forward to that as we level, especially since once I begin taking levels as a theurge, I won't be getting any additional spells in my spellbook from leveling.

Also, I pulled most of my information about Thuvia and recent events there from the ISWG, so I hope those are canon in your version of Golarion.

Also, one more thing that's just a nitpick. Qadria doesn't have a u. xD

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Picked my avatar, nice and pirate-y. There was a better one that fit the description in my profile but I couldn't pass this one up.

Liberty's Edge

Kamlann is likely to be fairly mercenary as well; the Consortium as a whole is, in fact, fairly focused on the acquisition of filthy lucre. That said, he's also a strong believer in keeping his agreements, and is not the "stab you in the back" type - at least, not if he has first shaken your hand. (All bets are off otherwise, of course.) As such, perhaps Jelani has a lead on something that would help in his long-term goals, and has contacted the Consortium and/or Kamlann specifically to aid in retrieving it? (My first thought was perhaps it would be the recipe for the sun orchid elixir, but that sounds like a higher-level game than we are currently playing...)

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Seamus is completely ready to go. Finished buying my equipment and the character sheet is updated accordingly. The list is in the spoiler below along with prices, GT please review and make sure I didn't make a mistake with the gun stuff. I sold back the freebie gun for the 22gp you worked out. Encumbrance is also squared away and should be all set.

Equipment list for review:

MW Double Barreled Pistol: 2050gp, Bought separately from the freebie gun, plus the MW cost
30 bullets: paid the initial cost of 30gp for the bullets but going forward I will assume I always "have enough"
10 alchemical paper rounds: 120gp per the post above
30 doses of black powder: 300gp
3 powder horns: free as they are non-expendable and under 1000
Gunsmith's kit: free as it doesn't list number of uses and it's under 1000
Dagger: free
MW Scimitar: 300gp for MW
MW Chain Shirt: 150gp for MW
MW backpack: free
chalk: free
belt pouch: free
everburning torch: free

Ready to rock, woot!

Dark Archive

@ Syndir: Yep, that's fine.

@ Seamus: The pack of bullets won't cost you anything, as it is non-masterwork and mundane.

The everburning torch is alchemical/magical, and not terribly mundane, so I'd like you to account for it's cost.

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

GT: Sounds good. Didn't have enough for the torch, so just dropped it. And gave myself back the 30gp for the bullets.

Alright, so here's a proposal synopsis, for the overreaching backstory:

Give it a read and tell me what you think.

PROPOSED CAMPAIGN BACKSTORY:

Farid Heydar, a young Qadiran barbarian, was exiled from his clan as a result of having failed a test of manhood, after coming of age.

After spending some time on the streets, Farid was sold into the service of a wealthy merchant house, House Apep, in Katheer. Farid learned a few extra tricks from carreer criminal and fellow "house servant" Amin Sattar, who would come to be something of a mentor to Farid.

Syndir Apep, the once-favored heir of wealthy House Apep, was a troubled son of a different kind. His emerging sorcerous heritage instilled strange and violent desires in the young man. After being evicted from an expensive academic-monastic academy in Katheer, and subsequently accosted by his father, Syndir's nature got the best of him.

Syndir slew his father and set his childhood home ablaze, then simply fled into the dangerous Qadiran wilds. House Apep maintains many holdings still, though Syndir knows not who has assumed patronage of the house since his self-imposed exile.

In the chaos of the fire, Amin and Farid escaped the manor and began a new life in the desert regions. In the years that followed their escape, Amin and Farid grew wealthy, working as professional thieves and brigands. Sadly, Farid's mentor betrayed him. Vanished in the night, along with their wealth, Amin left Farid only a few meager possessions and a note (worthless, to the illiterate young barbarian).

Farid and Syndir first crossed paths when, shortly after his betrayal, the desperate and angry Farid Heydar accosted Syndir Apep outside of the large town of Khoka. The two young men came to discover their shared history, and quickly became a strange pair of allies. Though slow to trust, Farid has since travelled with his former master's son to Osirion.

Jelani Guldis in Thuvia, across the Inner Sea, is a half-elven bastard of the ruling House Guldis, in the city-state of Pashow. Though shamed for his half-elven heritage, Jelani was fortunate enough to bear a birthmark resembling the holy symbol of Nethys, the dualistic god of magic. The church of Nethys, a powerful faction in Pashow, provided Jelani with opportunities that his house did not.

When his bullying cousin, Pashk Guldis, ascended to the title of Emir of Pashow, Jelani could bear him no longer and left the city. With the financial support of his sympathetic mother, Jelani has travelled to Osirion and done much to further his knowledge of arcane and divine magic.

Kamlann is a somewhat-sinister Aspis Consortium agent of the most basic tier: mercenary. His current assignment is somewhat vague (as contracted assignments tend to be, for reasons having everything to do with an element of deniability). Kamlann is searching for information relevant to the location of two shipments of Thuvia's famed sun orchard elixirs, recently disappeared under the nose of the Emir Pashk Guldis. Kamlann knows that he isn't the only Consortium mercenary with such an asignment, but he has stumbled onto an asset that no other agent seems to have done: the whereabouts and precise identity of a little-known House Guldis bastard named Jelani Guldis.
Though cousin to the now-shamed Emir, Jelani has not yet proved useful... but two things are clear to Kamlann.

First, Jelani is a promising diviner, and well on his way to even greater levels of divinatory power. Second, there is no love lost between Jelani and Pashk. With a powerful diviner and an enemy of the Emir for an ally, the accomplishment Kamlann's mission seems more possible than he first expected.

Seamus Haggrathy is a former Shackles pirate with a long list of enemies (of which he is likely quite proud). After being framed for the murder of a fearsome pirate captain's daughter, Seamus fled the Shackles and travelled to Absalom and beyond. Seamus doesn't yet know who set him up, or why, but he has been happy to discover that fools and their gold are just as easily seperated outside of the Shackles as within. Like Jelani, Faris, and Syndir, Seamus is currently travelling in Osirion.

Backstories are awesome! Very impressed with how quickly you wove all that together Garden Tool.

Syndir's main goal is to both unlock and control the wyrm inside of him through his Gong Fu as well as staying ahead of or destroying anyone from House Apep that is out to enact justice. Otherwise he's more than willing to get side tracked for associate's goal's.

@ Everyone: In case it wasn't clear, I'm not terribly active on the weekends. I'll be keeping an eye on things, though.

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

My worst posting time will be Thursday and Sunday evenings as those are my RL game nights. Evenings in general aren't great for me actually, since I'm either at work or playing RL games. My breaks aren't really long enough to compose decent length posts, so I usually just read the threads while I'm at work.

Just a quick clarification: Thuvia is a collection of city-states which are allies and have signed mutual-defense pacts and so on. However, each is goverened individually. So, House Guldis is only ruling over 1 of the city-states. Wasn't sure if this was clear enough in my background.

Other than that, the story looks excellent and I can't wait to get started.

Dark Archive

@ Jelani: Yeah, I boned up on Thuvia and it's neighbors. I guess my language in the background synopsis could have been clearer, but I'm aware that House Guldis is only the governing party of Pashow.

@ Everyone: I'm more active during the daytime on weekdays as well, as I think I mentioned in the recruitment thread.

Dark Archive

Male Human Magus 3

The campaign background looks perfect, GT.

Also, other than doing the math on his encumbrance (which should be well below his carrying capacity), Kamlann is done, I believe.

Dark Archive

Male Human Magus 3

Also, about the use of arcane points to enhance weapons...

Garden Tool, though it's not really a secret:
As I read the rules, masterwork weapons interact slightly oddly with the use of an arcane point to enchant the weapon. Normally, enchanting a masterwork weapon increases the damage but not the attack, because enhancement bonuses don't stack. However, the arcane pool rules specifically say "These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon enhancement to a maximum of +5." So this produces a weird situation where the weapon has a total +2 enhancement bonus to attack but only a +1 enchancement bonus to damage.

Is that how you interpret the rules as well?

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

Yeah weekends are usually poop for me. I do most of my posting Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm EST. I can get away with it at work which is where most of my posting is done.

And as for the backgrounds, I especially like the pirate fleeing for his life going to a nation of desert on the far side of the Inner Sea. As far from the Shackles as you can get. Perfect! I can't wait to see how we all end up starting out.

Dark Archive

@ Kamlann: To my ear, what that means is that the enhancement bonus granted by Arcane Pool will add to magic weapon enhancement bonuses rather than override them. I think the language "existing weapon enhancement" refers not to enhancement bonuses in general, but rather to the enhancement bonus of a magic weapon (as evidenced by the language "to a maximum of +5," the maximum for magic weapon enhancement).

Thus, this ability would produce a +2 longsword if applied to a +1 longsword, or a +1 longsword if applied to a masterwork (or non-masterwork) longsword.

I play a very RAW game, but in cases like this where the language is murky but the intent is very clear, I'll always go with the common sense interpretation (like the Zen archer flurry of blows silliness, for example).

Dark Archive

Male Human Magus 3

Kamlann's background is finished as well.

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

Jelani isn't fully finished, but I don't quite have time today to finish him up. Shouldn't be a problem if we're starting on monday, though, as I have tomorrow free and clear.

Dark Archive

@ Everyone: Before we start on Monday, I'd like to get everyone's feedback on a matter of play style.

In my first online campaign, I found that a combat that I ran against the PCs - a trio of thoqqua - was greatly slowed down or muddied by the need for PCs to make saves during the monster's turn.

If a monster requires a character to make a save on the monster's turn, how would you all prefer that save to be handled? Shall I roll the save for you?

Example: The thoqqua hits PC #4. [Reflex save] PC #4 is on fire.

Or would you prefer to make your own saves at the cost of a little speed bump in playtime?

Example: The thoqqua hits PC #4. I need a Reflex save from PC #4, and then PC #2 may take his turn.

How would you all prefer it run?

Dark Archive

Male Human Magus 3

The biggest problem in the *other* game with you rolling for us would be the possibility that we would use Action Points to affect the roll. As long as we have the ability to retcon if one or more of us has a reactive ability that might apply, I am fine with you rolling for us.

Also, of course, if the save won't materially affect the next player's actions, then waiting won't really matter...

Male HP:9/17, AC15/To11/FF14, F4/R2/W9 Half-elf (Half Garundi) Diviner 2/Cleric of Nethys 1

Personally, I'd prefer if you rolled for us. However, we might consider going both ways (for example, if a monster requires a save from one of our spells, the PCs might roll the save. Of course, the obvious problem with that is that we don't know what the monsters saves are).

Same thing goes for AoO (though these can be a bit trickier, cause you don't always want to use up your AoO on the first opportunity).

One thing I would suggest we do as a group is have our ACs (FF and To included), HP and saves in the character line (where it says "Male Human blah blah). That way the DM can easily access them all without having to go into each of our profiles. Also, any AC changes in combat (fighting defensively, combat expertise, etc) should be noted when composing the post.

Pretty much, anything that can be reasonably done to speed combat along is fine with me.

One way - which is outside of RAW - to speed combat along would be to "group" like-initiatives together and then have them go on a "First post, first initiative" basis. Basically, if all the PCs beat the enemies in initiative, whoever posts first goes first, that way we don't have to be in exact posting order.

Just some thoughts.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian 1 / Rogue 3 | HP 35 | AC 15 | FF 13, T 12 | F+7 R +4 W+2 | Init +5 | Per +4 | CMD 16 | Speed 40'

I am fine with you making the saving throws. In many of the PBP's I play in the DM's make skill checks as well.

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

I'm all for you rolling our saves. I've found it really does speed up play in games I've been in and games I've run. And since it's an online forum dice roller, we can't really blame the GM's dice. ;-)

If you're really concerned, the only thing I would suggest is if it's a really big save, like save or die or save vs petrify, maybe let the PC make it if they want.

Speaking to Jelani's point, I've seen this done in other games and it does make it easier for everyone.

At the top of my round post I usually go with something like this:

Round 3
Init: 19(+2), HP 18/23
AC 18, T 12, FF 14 (AC currently -2 from Stunned)

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

I do the same thing as Seamus by posting an OOC header with all current info and active effects at the beginning of each turn. Including how long effects last as well if applicable. Such as the following

Invisibility 6/12 rounds

Im also fine with Dm rolling saves and such if it keeps the game moving.

Ive got the changes done in regards to template for Syndir. I just need to transfer them to profile here which Im working on now.

Dark Archive

Alright, so it looks like the general consensus is that I'll roll routine reactive checks (like saves).

I'd rather not roll PC skill checks, etc.

As for attacks of opportunity, those are rare enough that I don't want PCs making them. Same for monster/NPC saves. In general, I don't want PCs rolling for NPCs.

As for initiative, let's stick to the default system ("act in the order of your initiative rolls").

Farid is ready to go, let me know if you see anything amiss Garden Tool.

Hi from the peanut gallery! Aside from the DM rolling everyone's initiative, here are a few other things that have worked well in my experience.

One game has very specific formats for skill checks and combat. None of my other games are so strict, but I use them sometimes anyway, just because they do make things clear.

In another game, if my character has his reach weapon out, then I'll post an AoO in a spoiler when I take his action. Otherwise, they'd have to wait for me to see that one was triggered and roll it, and then wait for the DM to see that it was rolled and resolve it.

That same character is a Perception monster. Although we mostly make our own skill checks, it really speeds things up sometimes for the DM to just assume that Anton took 10 or 20 (depending on the situation) and told the other characters what he saw.

Looking forward to watching your game! :)

Hey Frederik! Welcome to the show.

Great examples of posting techniques. That's really close to what we were talking about but spelled out very clean and neat. Thank you!

Can there be such a thing as Thank God Its Monday when a game is kicking off? Really looking forward to this beginning.

Dark Archive

Good morning, folks. We'll get started soon.

@ Fredrik: Very crisp. I may crib some of that, though I probably won't get quite that formal.

@ Jelani and Farid: Looks fine to me.

@ Everyone: Give me a bit to set up the gameplay thread and the opening post (which I'll keep simple).

Dark Archive

@ Everyone: I'd like everyone to post or PM to me an e-mail address (I probably should have done this earlier). I'm going to be using GoogleDocs to create combat maps. I'll share the documents with each player, who will have editing rights. That way you can actually move your PC around on your turn.

Please make sure you record your movements in the gameplay thread as well as by editing the map. If you cannot edit the map on your turn for any reason, just say so in your post (in ooc tags), and I'll move your "mini" on the map.

Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 3

PM'ed you my email. Thinking of how I want to "introduce" Seamus with the first post.
