One by one the goblins succumb to your superior strength, cunning and finesse. Xiong swings his tetsubo and catches the goblin in the temple. What was left was not a pretty sight: the goblin's head was cleared from its neck, sending its corpse crumbling to the ground and the vile creature's blood painting the large implement. Felix steps up and caves a goblin's head in with his morningstar and Thorfinn proceeds to seperate the goblin's legs from its torso in a ferocious swing. A single goblin remained, looking quite uneasy and ready to bolt.
The goblin takes an arrow in the rear and yelps loudly and from the look of the wound, it looks remarkably painful -- its cleary sticking through its leg on the other side. The small creature weakly swipes at Jeod.
Goblin 1: Attack Jeod1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
His small sword misses its mark, squeaking in its alien tongue angerily.
Thorfinn's action, in case Jeod fails to kill the thing.
Round 3:
Status:
HP: 13/13 AC: 19 Conditions: None
To hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Minimum damage is 4 HP, which I think is enough to finish the goblin; I won't bother with damage or confirmation rolls.
The burly dwarf advances on the wounded goblin, his grin wider than before after dropping one. "That didn't sound like a laugh, either. Sounded good, though!" Gore flies from the edge as he brings his axe around in a roundhouse swing which terminates with a loud crunch in the goblin's skull.
OTOH, if Jeod takes it down:
Thorfinn rushes to the exit and listens carefully.
The dwarf steps into the blow and cuts the goblin down, leaving six dead goblins all around your feet. It was a small endeavor but you feel a sense of accomplishment, removing a small threat from the world. Uzian excuses himself, content to go ahead and leave to collect his portion of the bounty.
Thorfinn hears nothing but the wind outside as he moves to the cave mouth to listen. In the room, beyond the smoldering smoke pit roasting a few charred chickens and the dead goblins, you find there is nothing of worth in the chamber at first glance. There are dirty linens and bloodied furs that you assume were for sleeping lining a wall and make-shift weapon racks lashed together with sticks and twine. Small rusty swords hang from the racks but are so weathered with time and misuse they are worthless. As you kick around the fire pit you find nestled under a pile of firewood a thick leather-bound tome. The chamber appears to open into another room, however, a small opening that will require you to get on hands and knees to get into -- perfectly sized for goblins.

Nolin Quickspark:
You wake up bound and gagged in a small room. There is a crude door appearing to keep you in with the heavy scent of urine and feces in the darkness. You feel something coarse beneath you and from the coldness of the floor, it would seem the chamber was made out of stone. As you no doubt squirm around, you think you can get out of the bindings... None of your normal possessions are on your person either. You don't recall imemdiately how you got to where you are, either.

Hayman, Jeod, Thorfinn, Felix, Xiong: Gain 162 XP
Uzian has been removed from the campaign, replaced by Nolin.
Those things were horrid, now what to do about that looking into the hole [b]I will go inside and look about if no one has any objections im sure the fight will have alerted any mroe if there any any to alert, however I stand the best chance of getting in and out sight unseen[b] not really waiting for the others consent he makes his way through the hole trying his best to do it stealthily
Jeod gets down on his hands and knees, silently moving through the hole in the wall...
Jeod:
Jeod moves through the hole and makes his way through a small tunnel. He moved through several feet of confined space before emerging on the other side. Its pitch black in the chamber you find yourself in, you'll need a light source.
Squatting near the hole, Felix waits for either an all clear or signs of struggle from the rogue on the other side. Hearing the mutter about the smell he nods his head rapidly in agreement, whispering back down the passage. "I know, right? It would almost be fascinating to study just how they manage to stink so bad if that wouldn't mean living among them... Probably much more fascinating just to read."
Also, is anyone still injured? I know that channel should have brought everyone to 'close enough' that its not worth any other spells, but I'm just trying to keep track of who is wounded.
The torches lights up a small room that is long and narrow like a hall. There are small crude wooden doors with latches lining the hall, three in all. It appears they are barred from the outside so they should be easy enough to open. Thankfully, they have no discerable locks that would be problematic. On the other end of the hall is another small hole like the one you came in. From the appearance of the chamber, its high ceiling seems more natural than practical -- even the doors, despite large, seemed as if fashioned by goblins.
Stang, what did you do this time idiot! Nolin thought to himself as the smell of urine and feces assaulted his nose. It was too dark for his sensitive eyes to make out anything and he could feel the coarse fibers of the rope cutting into his wrists and ankles. He tried to not think about what was on the rag stuffed into his mouth as he squirmed around and tried to wiggle his skinny ankles and wrists out of their bindings.
While the rest of the party waits for Jeod to return, Thorfinn wipes his axe clean on one of the dead goblins. "So,Xiong, that was nice work. I like the loft you got on the first one."
The three doors open into three jail cells. Your torchlight illuminates dirty cells with hay on the floor and a bucket in the corner. The cells are barely wide enough for a grown man to lay comfortably in and no doubt stand in. The ceiling drops, part of a natural chamber of the cave. In the middle cell you find a squirming man who is bound and gagged, looking quite displeased with his situation.
Nodding his head a bit, Felix flashes the others a quick smile. "Indeed, you are all skilled warriors. With you at my side I can only imagine the things that we will be able to uncover."
When Thorfinn begins to clean his weapon he flashes a quick smile and dips down to one of the goblins, tearing away the cleanest bit of cloth he can find to polish the blood from his morningstar. As he does he pauses for a moment and gives a quick sigh, touching the creature and focusing his attention.
From my knowledge domain I can touch a creature and get a DC 19 knowledge check about that type of creature, so I figure that will give me all the basic info about goblins.
The knowledge domain ability doesn't require a roll, its based on my wisdom and my level. In my case I basically automatically act like I rolled a 19 on a check for them.
You know the goblins you just killed are cave goblins, a common breed native to foothills and mountains. They commonly live in caves though they have different habits from their subterranean cousins. They are raiders and commonly attack civilized settlements, stealing food and killing livestock. When an easy food source is not readily available, they resort to hunting and gathering. Their taste for red meat keeps them from lowering themselves to scavenging for edible flora, however. They normally hunt in packs of five to ten and are part of larger communities, or ‘warrens’, that can consist of two dozen or more warriors and many more non-combatants.
Nolin began to squirm even harder when the door opened and he was momentarily blinded by the sudden torchlight. Prepared to fight to the death against his captors, he was quite surprised when another male half-elf stepped into the room. Holding a torch in one hand and a bloodstained dagger in the other, the leather clad figure didn't strike Nolin as one of his captors. One could never be too careful though and he used the extra light to wiggle into a sitting position with his back to the wall, facing the man. "Well come on then, do your worst!" he yelled through the gag.
Instead of coming out like he wanted however, the best it sounded like was "Mffmfmffff mfmmmmffmfmfff!".
looks at the hog tied individual in front of home My my you never know what you will find, as I begin by takign the gag out of his mouth. They really are vile creatures arnt they? Now how did you get get here my friend?
Nolin spits a couple of times to get the taste of the rag out of his mouth, his mind darting to a dozen possibilities on his current situation. "Vile creatures? I have no idea. I skipped out of town a few days ago and was spending the night in a farmer's field. Next thing I know I wake up here with a headache and tied up. My staff is gone, my spellbook is gone, they took everything! Um, who are they by the way? Not you I hope. That would be awkward."
Felix glances back and forth between the hole the rogue crawled through and the rest of the party taking off after the goblin. Finally he sighs and says to the others "If there is a group of them hold them, I'll get our companion and be out to you..."
He then ducks into the crawlspace, squeezing his way through to find Jeod to warn him.
Hayman follows Unruly towards the entrance, notching an arrow and starting his bard song with the oratory, "Ok Xiong, we are going to kick these things ass. I want to see a head fly atleast 15 feet this time..."
No they are not I, they are goblins you are in thier lair my friend, still a caster may be helpful as our last one just left. What do you say I free you and you help us clear out this den of the little blights?
begins lookign around for his spellbook and spell component pouch.
When you inspected the chamber where you slayed the goblins, you found a spellbook in the pile of sticks and tinder for the fire beneath a few logs. Obviously, the goblins were going to burn it. The spell components, however, are no where to be seen in the prison cell or immediate hallway. As noted before, there is still an adjacent room.
For Xiong, Thorfinn and Hayman moving outside, roll Perception and Reflexes, please.
Once through the tunnel, Felix will look up towards the torchlight and give a 'psst' to catch Jeod's attention. "If you haven't found any danger we should fall back in case the others need help. One of the sneaky little things peeked his head in the entrance and then fell back, the rest gave chase."
Turns back around acknologing felix pointing to the tied up mass in the corner Sorry I would have reported back by now but there is another chamber, and there is this to investigate.
