Andoran (Vampire Malkavian)

I am a multi-tasker!

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Beschi:
What are you planning on using the Vessel for?

As of right now, there thankfully does not seem to be any official agencies involved in these investigations. Between the two of you, you figure out that it seems like only a few small independent groups are checking this so called 666 Network, and none of them seem to be aware of the other each other, though its only a matter of time before they do.

Beschi, things appear to be quiet in London right now, though you are able to find out that the Tremere there have had the same difficulties with practitioners of the Lure of the Flames.

Its the next night, Moridin checks in with you both and tells you that you have two hours before take off time with which to make any last minute preparations.

Monkeygod:
No plans yet but I wanted to have it available in case I think of something.

I am back.

Beschi will complete the rituals as listed above in the morning. Then he will make sure Tribulat is ready to return to the old world. Once he is done,

"I am ready Prince Moridin. My clan has had issues with practitioners of the Lure of the Flames but from what I have gathered nothing else obviously wrong has taken place. Of course my sources in London are not superb".

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

A faint smile flickers across the Asamite's face "Forewarned, Master Beschi, is forearmed. Well done. I am glad to hear that, at least from what you can glean, London seems mostly unaffected. Its one of the reasons I chose it as the grounds for this meeting."

"In my fledgling days my paranoia of fire led me to discover a way to quench them. Needless to say each day I prepare to fight fires allowing me a certain amount of control over the dousing of flames. Hopefully my paranoia will yield an edge in the upcoming battles".

Was Tribulat able to procure the vials of Holy Water I snt him out for?

"It is the reason paranoia works so wonderfully well the intermittent reinforcement makes the addiction difficult to break."

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Yes, four vials worth.

Moridin leads the three of you downstairs to the same Hummer and driver as took you to meet the werewolves. You speed off to Westchester County Airport, where a sleek, black jet is waiting for you. Surprisingly, your driver gets out, and enters the cockpit as he apparently is also your pilot.

Assuming the pilot's boarding is a sign Beschi will also board the plane with Tribulat close behind. Once seated he will grab two vials of holy water from Tribulat to secure in his own robes so they are close at hand.

He will then take the laptop from the satchel that Tribulat is carrying and use his downloaded occult library to perform some research. The nature of the research will be to take what has been learned from the scroll we just translated and cross reference it with what is in his library and see if he can get some hits.

Intelligence + Occult 10d10 ⇒ (10, 3, 7, 5, 6, 3, 3, 7, 7, 7) = 58
Re-roll 10 1d10 ⇒ 9

Not sure what the DC is but it should be one lower based on Beschi's occult library background.

"How goes the grueling dissertation?"

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Beschi, what exactly are you looking for? The more details the better.

"Were there markings or symbols upon the thing that hinted at the origins of the tablet, perhaps in knowing who generated the thing we might reference it better."

Beschi is looking for a number of different things. 1. Important locations. 2. Names of associated Demons or Vampires. 3. Specific dates when important events might take place. 4. Foes identified by a cross reference (we could use some allies). 5. References to weaknesses of Demons or ways to prevent demonic rituals from taking place, especially ones that relate to this particular writing. 6. Any other connection which may be relevant. Beschi is hoping that although the scroll itself was a task to translate perhaps in ages past someone did and the stories regarding it were further investigated or written about.

Edgar attempts to aid Beschi in his research....

Investigation + occult
10d10 ⇒ (7, 8, 4, 9, 2, 7, 6, 3, 2, 2) = 50

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Beschi for 1,2,3 and 5, you've gained enough info to glean the general knowledge and history of Clan Baali. Instead of my digging through a bunch of books n posting everything here, assume you know most anything in the books(aside from Clanbook Baali), and the net. If your unsure if you should know something ask me.

Also, due to said findings, you now have Clan Lore(Baali) two dots

"So the boogie men of kindred do exist."

Baali History?
MG will have to approve this, but it is what I found, an hopefully what Beschi shares with me ;)

Spoiler:

In the Ancient Times, the Baali had their place, along with all the lesser other brethren of Blood. Baal was a great and powerful Lord, more powerful than any other of the Children of Cain. Through his studies of magic and treating with the forces Below, Baal accumulated knowledge of many hidden and secret things. He generously offered to share this knowledge with the others of the Second City, but they superstitiously feared what they could not understand.

Afraid of his ascendancy, the other clans of the Second City attacked Baal. With Ventrue in the lead, they set out murdering Baal’s children. Only when all of them had been exterminated or driven into the rising sun did cowardly Ventrue dare to lead the attack on Baal’s own bastion. Afraid to face him directly, Ventrue and his brothers set fire to Baal’s grand house. But our forefather’s power was even greater then the attackers had believed. Even as his own home burned, Baal treated with two demon lords. Utilizing magics greater than the Lords could comprehend, Baal bound them into himself, and became the center of the triplicate entity Jah-Bul-On, a single entity greater then the three had been separately. Utilizing the tremendous power they had gained from the transformation, Jah-Bul-On withstood the terrible flames of his burning demesne. He allowed the timbers to fall on him, and was buried in the hot coals, protected from the sun.

He then chose to leave the Second City. Jah-Bul-On knew the deadly envy of his brothers, and cast himself out into the outer darkness like Caine before him. Thus it was that they did not discover that he had survived. Jah-Bul-On grieved for his childer, for he believed all had fallen before the betrayers of our line.

Ancient World

Before the Betrayal, the Baali walked the night as any other Kindred. We were rightly respected and feared by the other clans for our knowledge, but we taught what we knew to whomever would listen. For all our generosity, we were used very poorly.

And so we went into hiding. We quickly passed into legend, becoming a monster’s monster: that which stalks the night stalkers, something to frighten new childer with. As these things happen, we became more terrible and repulsive with each retelling, until we were all but unrecognizable, even to ourselves.

Yet all the while, we were in the shadows, watching them. The Tzimisce created their aeries in the Carpathians, and we watched them lay the foundations. Set and Osiris played their petty games on the Nile, and we laughed at the slaughter. The Children of Saulot were driven to extinction by the Tremere, but they would not stoop to accepting our help. And all the while, Jah-Bul-On made his children, and we grew in shadow.

We have spent more than eight thousand years covering our tracks, lying about who we are, and being given to the sun by our enemies. Yet we survive. The Path of the Baali is not an easy one, but it holds the greatest rewards at the end. Where even the greatest of Methuselahs will be mere foot soldiers in the Netherworld, we are given the opportunity to gain status in Jah-Bul-On’s glorious train.

At the time that Caesar was assassinated, there was great unrest in the Nether Realm. Jah-Bul-On moved himself to Hell and mustered his forces. Other jealous Demon Lords had encroached on his territory, and it was necessary for his to oversee the defense of his demesne personally. He returns to Earth only infrequently now, for the fires of infernal war grow ever brighter, and his personal attention is frequently needed.

The Inquisition

We did not fear the coming of the Inquisition. We were already being hunted by our own so-called "Kindred", and what were the pokings and proddings of a few mortals compared to that?

Perhaps more than we anticipated. Many of us were destroyed with the fall of the Knights Templar. Rumors of our works were discovered by mortals and rooted out with a fierce efficiency that our Kindred betrayers had never shown. No vampire would have thought to look for us in the midst of a group of Holy Warriors. It took the squeaking of mortals to alert our treacherous brethren that we did still exist. But we again took our opportunity, and most believe that we died out in the Middle Ages. More fools they.

But The Inquisition also served to greatly strengthen our forces in Hell. And that, dear childe, you must never forget. All that we do but sets the stage for the truly important struggle. This life is nothing but a gathering of tools for the Glorious Hereafter. You shall be a hero in Jah-Bul-On’s struggles in Hell. You shall be in the forefront of that glorious battle. And the more powerful you are here, the greater you shall be in the Jah-Bul-On’s forces.

The Age of Exploration

As the New World was colonized, the we saw a chance to sew deep our seeds in a new society. To spread their influence over the emerging civilization could score a major coup for the Great Master.

Imagine our surprise when we found a whole civilization built around those who appeared to be our brothers! But they were the misguided children of Shaitan, and had not the True Blood of Jah-Bul-On. We tried to welcome out brothers back to us, but they did not accept us as the true Children of Baal. They worked for the aggrandizement of Huzicheptopl, not for the glorious One Who is Three. The Spanish needed little encouragement to destroy the Azteca, and kept our secret safe.

Some of Baal’s illegitimate children still survive, and Central and South America are dangerous places for true Baali. Nothing is more able to ferret us out than our misguided brothers and sisters.

Now

Baali influence has grown slowly since our nadir after the destruction of the Templars. Perhaps we raised them too high. But no matter; now, as ever, we are hard at work. Many recent deaths at the hands of exorcists are the work of our hands. Rumors say that our brothers and sisters have set up vast clinics for the ‘rehabilitation’ of victims of demonic possession, and then carefully expose them. We understand that not only is conversion of individuals necessary, but also the weakening of the faith of the population at large.

In all things we always serve Baal. For even in his triplicate form of Jah-Bul-On, Baal ever dominates, and he is always the center. In him shall we gain eternal power, and through us shall he gain true ascendancy over all of the Inferno.

OK. I will check out RL sources and see what I can come up with as a possible plausible scenario to present to Moridin later tonight.

Beschi wearliy turns to the Prince, "Certainly it will come as no surprise that the Baali are the driving force behind this crisis. I will meditate on the matter and see if there is anything further I can postulate that will aid us".

Beschi closes his eyes and falls into a silent trance contemplating silently all he has pieced together this night.

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Beschi, give me four Int+Occult rolls, you may spend a Willpower point as either a success as normal, or to gain deeper insight.

Intelligence + Occult 8d10 ⇒ (7, 7, 6, 9, 1, 4, 1, 1) = 36 Will spend 1 Willpower point on the first roll.
Intelligence + Occult 8d10 ⇒ (8, 3, 1, 4, 4, 9, 6, 9) = 44
Intelligence + Occult 8d10 ⇒ (9, 1, 1, 10, 10, 9, 8, 2) = 50
Intelligence + Occult 8d10 ⇒ (10, 7, 9, 5, 3, 3, 7, 8) = 52

Re-roll 10's 2d10 ⇒ (9, 10) = 19
Re-roll 10's 1d10 ⇒ 3

Re-re-roll 1d10 ⇒ 2

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

That willpower point spend for success or deeper insight? Can only choose one

Deeper insight is probably more useful, will go with that option.

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

Working on n out what I hope will be a cool way to convey said deeper insight. Please bear with me

Not a problem!

Edgar hangs back watching the subtle forces at work within Master Beschi, certain that at this moment a single sylable offered in utterance, might make the man lose his focus and keep the points of light from coming together and forming an understanding.....

Oh those painful points of light!

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

I am terribly sorry I have yet to post, but I am suffering from a bad case of writter's block. Every time I've come to make the post for Beschi's vision, either I can't get it started right, or I have a lot all written out and I read it over and feel it sucks. I think part of my problem is I'm currently reading George Carlin's sortabiography, which while amazing, isn't my usual fantasy book, so I'm lacking inspiration. Hopefully I can overcome this annoyance soon, as I am almost done with the book. Sorry again

No problem I have been out of the loop anyway this past week. I enjoyed that sortabiography, read it a few montsh back.

Oh the pain of writer's block......

didn't like my posted internet find huh?

Any inspiration yet Monkeygod?

Aids the process through Gregorian chanting.............

Maybe I should just spend that Willpower point on an extra success instead of deeper insight :-)

(Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster)

I've been kinda avoiding this thread, since I still haven't gotten anything to really come up with. Its not just the deeper insight, I need to some more research and lately with the holidays n such, I've been hella busy.

I am going to put this game on what I PROMISE will be a temporary hold. I need to read through Clanbook Baali and some other stuff before I pick this back up again.

HOWEVER, I have some stuff already planned for you all once you reach London, including introducing a new, very special, NPC.

This game deserves more attention from me than I have been able to give it, and it's not even due to my other games, as I can handle posting via my smartphone or laptop, both of which I am on a regular basis. RL is gettin crazy and not only is work gettin in the way, but I have some projects that require workin on as well.

I WILL RETURN and if you'll still have me as your ST, this game WILL be awesome!! I plan to pick back up in the middle of Jan or so, hopefully.

Sounds good to me!

If there is a thread due for ressurection it is of course the vampire thread....
