"Yes it be the scar,I earned it for my arrogance and youthful rebelliousness" to took a swig of ale. He than wrote down a bit more about the flavors.
"This is a good trencher, I will definitely have to remember that" He says with a hint of delight."SO who is next"

Gregory peered into a once more empty flask with a forlorn sigh. Then, with that distraction out of the way, he rejoined the game. "Much too young I agree. But dont forget, you are talking to a man who purports to have visions of all manner of creatures. Suppose he talked to a dragon in on? I shall have to say, you have no son."
Rakdon Tripus |
Oh yes my answer, I'm afraid of heights is definitely false. I have jumped from rooftop to rooftop and I'm a skilled jumper. Not to mention one of my magic abilities can increase anyone's jump ability including my own. I have fought undead is true, not very many, and only vampires, but it is still true. Most of what I fought however was Orcs.
Geralt doesn't have to be married to have a son, therefore I'm going to say that one is true.

"hahah!!" Gregory laughed, slapping his thigh, then Cassius' shoulder. "Very good, very good indeed. Nothing like a bit of deadpan humor is there? Although I must admit, I have yet to face an actual orc. A half-orc here or there though." He tipped his flask towards Cassius and attempted to swig, having forgotten it was empty. Looking into it once more he added. "They had it coming though, and not because they were half-orcs...just really bad people. But then again, I guess a stereotype has to come from somewhere right?"
He didn't wait for an answer, getting up and staggering towards the bar.

Cassius winces slightly at the drunk alchemist slapping him on the shoulder, and sighs at the words.
"We are all products of our environments," he says. "The bear of the north has white fur to blend in with the snow. The orc of the hills has grown up with a life of savagery, violence, and murder; little wonder he learns these skills to survive. I am living proof that one may be an exemption to the popular ideas of one's heritage-- given a different environment in which to grow."
He supposes the eloquence of his speech is wasted on those already deep in their cups.
Geralt Eletherian |
"Heh, yes I have a son. He's a year old, or just a bit shy. No, not married, though."
Geralt grins sheepishly.
"Not that the mother didn't want to change that. I wasn't ready, though... and looks like it was wiser to wait, what with me having to leave and all."
Then, a moment later in response to Cassius.
"Well, I haven't fought any orcs. Never seen any either. I guess I've seen half of one, now," he says with a laugh.
Rakdon Tripus |
Cassius makes a rude noise into his wineglass at Rakdon's words.
"You've fought no vampires," he says dismissively.
"And I'm sure you've fought plenty of orcs, but then," his mouth curls bitterly, "who hasn't?"
Lol, my thoughts too Gregory.
Rakdon looks at Cassius with surprise and with a disgusted look. Not alone, I have fought vampires, but usually in groups either in the military I was in or with the guerrilla group. Every time I fought them, my group outnumbering them 15 to 1 or more every time. Or the vampires would be teamed up with the Orcs, but still not alone, the vampires were outnumbered 15 to 1. Even if the Orcs were only outnumber 3 to 1 at the time we fought vampires, and just because I'm level 1 doesn't mean everyone in the group was level 1.

Cassius yawns, displaying his enlarged incisors. "Ah, so you and your soldiers were all equipped with enchanted weapons of pure silver? You were a crack team, perhaps, especially equipped at great expense to hunt down vampires? Spare me your bragging."
The scholar unfolds from his seat, and wanders for the bar to get a refill on his wine. On his return, he bows slightly to Geralt.
"At your service. Both halves of me, sirrah. Ha, ha."

No.. My guirella group I was with was no less than level 7, and the best at level 13 so I was the only level 1, and our gunslinger had silver bullets. But any level 1 person can fight any monster with enough teammates of a high level and survive, assuming the monster go after the higher level teammates and not you. Basically I used magic missile and stayed out of the vampires way

Cassius looks at the elf with total blankness and incomprehension.
"What on earth is a 'level'? Is that what you call your military ranks?"
In game way of saying it is, they were much more combat experienced than me. Also my character is an elf, not a half-elf.
dien RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16 |
Dude, I know what a level is. Your character doesn't. Your character doesn't think in terms of 'levels'. Your character doesn't know he's level 1, your character doesn't know other people are level 7 or 13. In short, you had your character make an outrageous claim of fighting 'only' vampires-- one of the toughest undead characters known in the game-- and now you're making up nigh-legendary NPCs (level 13 would be world-renowned fighters) to try and back up your outrageous in-character claim. Let it go, bro.
Rakdon Tripus |
I was just trying to make it make sense, and have that as part of my character story without having it being questioned, why is he still alive? Also, my character was trying to hint to you how powerful his group was. That is part of his backstory that he was with really experience military and then when that got destroyed he was with really experience guerrilla group. though to be specific, I'm refering to vampire spawn, a CR of 4

Heh heh, I was wondering if we were just going full-on "Order of the Stick"-style discourse here...
"At your service. Both halves of me, sirrah. Ha, ha."
"Uh, you... er, at yours, as well. Though my halves are rather more boring, being hard to tell from one another."
"I'm half-human." - "What's the other half?" - "Also human."

If we go Order of the Stick, dibs on V!
"Oh, there are benefits to being a unified soul," Cassius says airily to Geralt. "None of this tiresome 'but what is my identity, really,' and none of this 'I feel torn between my different heritages!' or fighting one's dark internal curse or what not."
He smiles brightly, though closed-mouth again. "And what is it you do?"
dien RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16 |
Geralt Eletherian |
"And what is it you do?"
Geralt shrugs.
"Nope, not torn between different identities. Don't really have much of one, I guess. My mother told me I'm a 'sorcerer,' before I left. Before the town made me leave. They said it was less dangerous to have me out and about in the world rather than try to learn magic among them."
His forehead wrinkles with the ghost of worry.
"Plus, there are stories. About some kind of great-great-grandfather. Not good stories. Anyway, I guess you could say learning to use my magic is what I do, for now. What about you?"
Natilie Moongrove |
Well, I want to learn magic to help people. I see myself as a good person. I mean, I've always wanted to help people, but I could only do little things. Take care of sick children, give firewood, talk to people to brighten up thier day. All little stuff, but it did help people. Now that I have magic I can DO BIG things and make a DIFFERENCE in the WORLD!
