Yeah, the HALO guys are sweet. Started writing a story featuring HALO once, but realized it was becoming a mash-up of Halo, Gears of War, and Resistance... So I abandoned it in the name of copyright infringement.

A wise decision.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

Yay! Second page on the Discussion Thread!

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

pft I would yay on a higher number like 10.

Male Human (Earth, American) Gunslinger 2, Master Chief Petty Officer

Every step counts, Charlotte!

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

On the subject of who our characters sound like I can not help but Imagine Scarlett Johansson for my character. Most of you would know her has the Black Widow from the Avengers.

funny thing too that is my spartan insignia

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

I've changed my mind. Q doesn't have a deep enough voice for an Elite. Instead I chose Tony Jay.

Most notably known for playing Judge Frollo in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. That's a better voice for an elite, don't you think?

male Human Cav lev 2

xD im obi-wan if he like guns hahahahahahaha. Its funny because in reality he is scottish

Whenever you are ready to set off, let me know here.

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

I am ready whenever everyone else is

Male Human (Earth, American) Gunslinger 2, Master Chief Petty Officer

Ready.

Male Human (Earth, Canadian) Sniper (Gunslinger) 2

I'm ready whenever anyone else is.

Male Sang'heili Elite Ranger (Paladin)/2

Ram'Daim brought up who would your character sound like and finally after much thought I have decided Mar'Gonee sounds like Bruce Willis.

Male Human (Earth, Canadian) Sniper (Gunslinger) 2

I'm thinking Mark Wahlburg would be a suitable voice for my character.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

So, I was thinking, and tell me how this would work, or at all.

Could I be able to make a Knowledge: Engineering check to build and launch a probe to Paradise? No one has been there yet, so one question I have is would we be able to even land there without having to resort to breathing equipment.

The probe would contain sensors for atmospheric conditions, life forms of any kind, and maybe even a technology sensor if it could fit.

Based on the current path of the ship and the location and trajectory of Paradise and the ship we're on, the probe--if launched from a standard missile pod--would land on Paradise in roughly an hour.

Also, what's the name of the ship we're on? The Gorgon is the small decoy ship the fireteam is on. What's the name of the large exploration vessel everyone else is on?

EDIT: One more question, what's the name of the AI that pilots the ship? I love that name, by the way

That works for me.

You are on the Harbinger of Justice. Radio signals refer to it as Justice. As in "This is Rising Sun, come in Justice. This is Rising Sun, come in Justice. Over"

EDIT: The name of the AI is Daniel. Daniel is a fan of the Victorian era, and dresses accordingly. His avatar has a monocle, top hat, and bow tie. The avatar is also dominated by the color red.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

Grave!! You almost destroyed my probe!!

male Human Cav lev 2

Hey I never said I knew how to fly one of those thigns! I knew about them :3 you just let me fly it...AND IT WAS A BAD ROLL! I MADE SURE IT DIDNT HIT ANYTHING!

male Human Cav lev 2

the fly roll was high enough to manuver the probe out of the way of anything it could possibly crash into...The argument could EASILY be made that I as a HUMAN marine Corp PILOT am not use to ELITE PILOT controls to FORERUNNER CRAP...something only me AND the ELITE Can understand...so EXCUSE ME IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH MY PERFORMANCE!

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

In the end, it's the GM's ruling as to what happens to the probe.

I'm still not letting you near my stuff again ;)

Does anyone have a prefered way to do Battle, or should we just simply use the messageboards? I think the boards should be fine, since, for the most part, we'll be using guns.

Male Human (Earth, Canadian) Sniper (Gunslinger) 2

The boards should be fine.

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

The boards probably if it was with other stuff I would say skype.

Male Sang'heili Elite Ranger (Paladin)/2

im flexible. i know some gms use google docs to show maps

Lieutenant - HP 14 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 16 | CMD 18 | F +6 | R +2 | W +0 | Init +5 | Per +5

I prefer maps. But if you're not up for making them, we can just use the boards. Just make sure everything is clearly described and that people post in order or it gets really confusing really fast.

Alright, I'm going to see if I can figure out a map for this place, and post it on a google doc. I'm also going to roll initiative for all of you here and you may post when it is your turn. Try to be on, though, because waiting for one person all day can get slow and bothersome.

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

roll20.net is good for maps.

Yeah, but everyone has to make an account. I already have one and I've been wanting to try it, so I'd be down for roll20.net

Another good option is MapTool, but you have to build up a library of images before it's any real use.

One DM I have just uses google docs spreadsheets and colors in the cells different colors to represent whatever. Ghetto, but it works.

If one person takes more than 24 hours to act in combat, just DMPC them for that round.

Good idea. I say, that I'll think about doing roll20, I don't know how to do it just quite yet, but I can figure it out. Shouldn't be too hard.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

I think the dice roller is acting like karma. We all made fun of Grave for making one bad roll, and now we're gonna get bad rolls after his Nat 20

Male Sang'heili Elite Ranger (Paladin)/2

Well Karma is a brat if there ever was one.
Let's hope she likes me

male Human Cav lev 2

:3 thank you magical lady of the rolling of the dice.

Male Human (Earth, American) Gunslinger 2, Master Chief Petty Officer

I don't yet have a roll20 account, but I can make one. Any way we end up doing combat works by me.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

I like the idea of a Hearo-Point system. Perhaps something along the lines of one point per encounter, based on a vote system among us in the discussion on who gets it?

How you use the points is up for debate. I've always done it where when you get three, you can trade them in for one free reroll.

Lieutenant - HP 14 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 16 | CMD 18 | F +6 | R +2 | W +0 | Init +5 | Per +5

I'm fine either way. If we do use hero points we should probably just use the rules on d20pfsrd.com.

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

I am indifferent since some of my games do some of them do not.

Male Human (Earth, American) Gunslinger 2, Master Chief Petty Officer

Either way works. Sometimes I like the idea, because it really lets you do something, for lack of a better word, heroic--the impossible tasks that heroes occasionally pull off. The whole "cheat death" thing is also interesting.

But I dunno. I'm up for either/or.

male Human Cav lev 2

Remember people...its going to take me a few days to get over to the Gorgon if Tim didnt move the ship...just a friendly heads up, don't have to do anything yet. HAVE A MOST EXCELENT FIGHT! *airguitar*

Lieutenant - HP 14 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 16 | CMD 18 | F +6 | R +2 | W +0 | Init +5 | Per +5

Is this what we're fighting?

Think of it less like that and more like this.

WHOOOOOOOPS! And this is why, children, that it is wise to see where you are linking too before you link to it.

Lieutenant - HP 14 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 16 | CMD 18 | F +6 | R +2 | W +0 | Init +5 | Per +5

That link just leads me to Roll20.

SWEET a space version of a kobold.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

I'd say that if they were a playable race, they'd have low-light vision as well as something involving increased vision, since they have multi-lensed eyes.

Female Human Rogue 2/ Warrent Officer

Oh high and mighty GM, if we roll a nat one in combat do we have to roll for a fumble...I know a nifty chart for confirmed fumbles.

Fumbles suck. I'm gonna say no.

Male Human (Earth, American) Gunslinger 2, Master Chief Petty Officer

Fumbles are fun when they happen to someone else... But I like your call.

Male Sang'heili Elite Forerunner Scientist (Wizard)/2

Can we all agree to make sure this campaign doesn't end up in the Inactive bin?

Make sure you know who's doing what and when so we don't have to worry about something like what happened with Brian. No offense intended man.

So shall we all agree to keep up to date and let others know if something will happen that will interfere? I know other things in life precede a game on the Forums, but we'll try to keep this game as active as we can.

Also, good work field-team! I've only seen one other combat go that fast before, and it was because of Color Spray at 1st lvl.

Lieutenant - HP 14 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 16 | CMD 18 | F +6 | R +2 | W +0 | Init +5 | Per +5

I keep an eye on it constantly, however, I will say that a small OOC tag on each of the DM's post telling us who he still needs actions from is very helpful in combat.

Also putting the intiative order outside a spoiler, and reposting it each round is helpful. As is a clear delineation of rounds, not sure if Tirq was intending to post one or not. I believe this combat lasted exactly one round so it didn't come up yet.

Example:

Begin Surprise Round

blah blah blah post post post

End Surprise Round
-------------------------
Begin Round 1

Initiative:
xx
x
xxx
xx

I need actions from larry, moe and curly.

Just a suggestion. I thought that combat went extremely well Tirq. Especially for not having a map.

Male

I have my browser open automatically to my campaign tab whenever I start it up, so I can keep a close eye on it.

Larry, Moe, and Curley never post!

That's a nice idea Berenzen.

I will do the things that Jelani has said.

Does anyone want to be the cartographer? I'll just need some blank maps with co-ordinates on the sides. Like A-G on top with 1-10 on the side. Google docs would be the best way to publish them. Any volunteers?
