My two coppers, Seka, is that I've seen you do a rogue so if you wanted to branch out, that's fine with me. I don't believe much in the concept of "party balance" so as long as your character and RP are good, I'm happy.

That said, I should have Kast's build up sometime tomorrow. I probably should decide on something soon enough.

Just a heads up. Moving into my new house next weekend and I'll be heading over there frequently to make it ready. I apologize if I post less than normal.

So, I was having a philosophical discussion with someone elsewhere and some stuff came up that I thought would be good to drop here.

I am not the strictest rules person out there. In fact, I'm probably not in the top 50% of the strictest rules people I know. However, I do try to follow the rules to the best of my ability, most of the time. I expect that you will all do the same, and we can help each other out, bringing problems and questions to the OOC thread as necessary.

That said, I see my primary role to be making sure we have a good story and good role playing within the rules. With that in mind, I reserve the right to fiddle with things as needed for story or RP purposes.

I like to stay within the rules as much as possible (they're there for a reason), however I am always willing to look for ways to RP flavorful items that aren't part of the rules, as long as I don't break a rule. One of the things I like about pbp is the ability to do this effortlessly. (Ever tried describing a flashy action at the table top? Feels kind of odd)

Fiddle away, it's good by me, I'd even encourage it for flavor. I'd say that I'm in top 10% of GMs that don't follow the rules, I don't think I've ever ran an adventure completely by the book in 27 years of gaming.

I will be hosting a 4th of July party today and attending PaizoCon this week(end), so my posting will be spotty.

Dorial, I've been looking at Wind Blast, and the rules for swarms. I don't think it has any effect on the swarm, as these are tiny, the size of rats, not diminutive or fine. Swarms are immune to spells or effects that target specific creatures, and are also immune to bullrush.

for the record, I'm aware that the weapon attack won't hurt the spider swarm, but Simon wouldn't know that, thus the attempt to smash 'em real good.

I thought spider swarms were diminutive? The idea was to use it as more of a wind effect, which the diminutive swarms are susceptible to. If they're tiny, would I be able to treat it as a normal bull rush against each of them since wind blast hits everything in a line?

A regular spider swarm is diminutive. This not a regular spider swarm. It is, however, still a swarm, and cannot be bull rushed.

Well at least as Tiny creatures we can actually hurt them with weapons, although my crit did nothing.

Sorry, Simon, I think the swarm should have taken full damage from your bludgeoning attack. I won't retcon, but we'll go forward with that assumption.

Well, most of us are available via googlechat, Dorial. Othoe, GM Angry Big Bug, Nimeon, and I chat somewhat frequently...and would love have you join us.

I suggest Trillian or Adium as a way to get into Googlechat and can find my gmail address on my main alias.

If that works, we can ask others to release their names as well.
