Lets do this.

Every spring, in the small village of Whitecap, they hold a festival. This festival is three days long and is in remembrance of all lives list too early in life. Whether they are from hundred years past in the war, or the past few from age, sickness, or wildlife; these lives are remembered.

It is day two of the festival and your group, simply traveling through, stops for a bite to eat and a warm bed to sleep in before you continue on your journey to the nearby caves to search for treasure. There is much revelry and rejoicing. You come to find out why, and you join in the festival. The townsfolk welcome anyone who wishes to remember the good times of when their loved ones and friends were still around.

The sun begins to set; beautiful crimsons, oranges, and purples fill the sky as another night draws to a close, but this night wouldn't fare as years past.

From out of nowhere, you hear a woman scream bloody murder. Then a few short moments later, you see her come into view from the east. You, as well as the townsfolk, barely have moments to react.

Everyone as a standard or move action to use as they see fit before the enemies come into view and I start initiative

The woman has claw marks up and down her body. It is a miracle she is still standing. Her skin is pale, akin to the saying "like you've seen a ghost". She looks as if she wants to respond, but just can't find the words to put together, it is obvious she has seen something so horrific she is scarred.

She manages to get one word out before she collapses out of fear and her nerves being shot, Bro..bro..brother

SA applies to an enemy if flanked, or caught flat footed. In Pathfinder only a few things are immune to crit/SA such as ooze, swarms and a handful of others.

So I didn't get this action before the combat round started?

Kale "Seascum" wrote:

Under that assumption, and based on what I see on the map (nearest skeleton at least 15 feet away, nearest Zombie 10 feet away) here is my action...

Kale grimaces as the injured woman falls before him. He pulls out his Guisarme and lays into the Zombie before him, obliterating it.

You two, take care of this last bone-thing. I'll deal with these others! He shouts as he moves to the north, between the tent and the building. Then he yells at the zombies that had just killed the poor townsman. Hey! Flesh eaters! Come taste my steel!

Crunch:
Quickdraw the Glaive, Standard Action to attack the Zombie, Move action to go 20' North.

Guisarme, attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
confirm crit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Guisarme, damage, critical hit: 6d4 + 18 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3) + 18 = 32

if the 18 somehow does not confirm, that is just 13 damage, for the first 2d4+6.

Kale has Combat Reflexes, so up to 3 AoOs per round, and he is ready to attack with his Guisarme at anything that comes at him.

Also, his AC is 18, not 17.

Okay, I somehow missed it. So, you will get to the woman during your surprise round, but not be able to drag her back. You will obliterate zombie 3 on your turn, "miss" to AOO on zombie 4 so I don't have a major headache trying to retcon everything, which then gets taken out by Kit'Arr. You were flat-footed since the skeleton went before you so AC 17, sorry. IS that okay with you?

Ah, I forgot all about being flat-footed. You have my apologies. Also, I forgot you had said only one action before the enemies come into view--my apologies again. Has the skeleton's position been updated, so the others know where he is?

All enemy positions are correct on the map, the enemies are not hiding, unless visibly obstructed sue to a hut or some other physical barrier.

- INACTIVE -

Huh. Okay. How could any of them attempted an AoO on me? The nearest one was 10 feet away. I was on the other side of the woman before I moved--20' S of where I stand now. I mean, it's moot since you said he missed it anyway, I'm just trying to understand what happened.

what I was trying to convey was: I was unsure if zombie 4 would provoke AOO from you, so I just hand-waived you miss to keep everything simple since Kit took it out on her turn anyways :)

Oh! I thought you were saying *I* provoked an AoO from the skeleton. I see now. I was unarmed at the time, so I did not threaten any spaces. After this adventure I'll be picking up Spiked Gauntlets so I can always threaten.

Yūrei moves around Kit and looses an arrow. It flies towards the skeleton, rattling some bones. Usually the piercing weapon would fell such a boney foe, but thanks to Randall's magic missile it succumbs to its "wounds" and falls never to rise again.
