I am back at home and everything is back to normal.

Male Human 59/66 hp Ranger(guide variant) 6

Casvian cast Longstrider and then moves up to Dratis.

Ok, Casvian casts his spell and catches up to his ally. Anyone else?

I guess I'll continue moving north until I'm within melee range.

Argent?

I think Argent is MIA. I haven't spoken with him in a couple weeks.

Alright, well it is a bit of a crazy time of year. School starting, hurricanes and the like. We'll keep him botted and he can join up if and when he is ready again.

Casvian and Dratis hold next to a building, waiting for their opponent to come closer before launching into their next attack. Dratis' rage is tangible to Casvian. The heavy breathing, the harsh and intentional twitching of every muscle. This is a formidable person and you count yourself lucky that he is on your side.

The Driders change position and launch a magical assault on their intended targets. Lightning shoots from the fingertips of the spiders and hits Dratis, Casvian, and Alric. DC 16 reflex save for those three. 23 damage on a fail, 11 on a save
Dratis recoils after taking the brunt of the lightning, but then his rage builds as a new energy courses through his body.

Alric launches another magical dart at the creature, striking it in the flank and causing it to bleed spider's blood mixed in with the caustic fluids. The smell of burning insect fills your nostrils. 25 damage so far

"Come on, boy! Get over here!" Comes from unraveler as Argent comes in to view on your left out of the darkness. There is an almost magnetic force pulling on the sword towards Argent.

Thundrik and Argent have broken into full sprints to reach their goal-points, but are still to far to do anything of particular merit. The slaves lag behind their leaders now, moving more slowly with their encumbrance.

Map should be updated by the time you read this. Anya, let me know when you are ready and I'll put you in.

Alric, you can re-post with your new situation in mind. You may want to change your strategy. Casvian: Your movement speed doesn't allow you to reach r24 with just a move action. I have moved you to r21 instead, which is 40 feet from your previous position.

Casvian launches an arrow as the flash of light settles. A harsh glow of super-heated rock is present on the wall behind him. Dratis recovers and launches himself in a charge at the source of the lightning, but his swing is deflected off of the beast's armored hide.

The drider swings its mace wildly at Dratis, the first blow barely hitting, but the second one connects in the temple, leaving him staggering about and swaying on the battlefield.
Alric's opponent launches a web onto him, causing him to be entangled in the sticky substance before his turn. The drider's wounds continue to boil and the stench is quite repugnant.

Argent makes his way to be adjacent to Alric and is ready to take unraveler once it has been freed from the webbing. The slaves do not follow this far, but Argent hardly notices. His focus is solely on re-attaining his blade.

If Dratis and the Drider have changed can we get a map update. I don't want to accidentally provoke an AoO.

Map has been recently updated. Dratis is in t23, drider is adjacent.

Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorceror 4/Dragon Disciple 2

Trading Unraveler to Argent for the drow rapier, Alric tries to free himself.

Thanks :)

Thundrik?

Male Human 59/66 hp Ranger(guide variant) 6

Against the same Drider as before.

Full Attack PB Shot + Ranger Focus+ Deadly Aim+rapid shot

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

2 and 3 on the attack rolls, darn.

I'm sorry I haven't responded- I currently do not have access to a computer with any sort of spreadsheet program, and GoogleDocs isn't working for some reason, so I'm not able to see the map. If there is a Drider within 40 feet, I'm going to charge it with an unarmed strike (possibly taking Attacks of Opportunity in the process). Assuming I'm able to make such an attack:

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 201d3 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Again, assuming I'm able to charge, my AC drops to 17 (unless Driders count as giants, which I don't think they do, in which case it's 21). If I'm not able to charge, then I simply double-move closer to the nearest enemy.

male Halfling rogue 6

....Dotting

Thundrik charges the nearest Drider with a powerful body-slam. He is now in a flanking position with Dratis. You are able to really bruise the monster's flank when you put your weight into it. 40 damage total on this one. Thundrik should never provoke by using unarmed strike, you've taken a feat for that.

Argent takes his weapon and expertly thrusts it upward to the drider who is clinging to the wall while combining his attack with a spell.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

He stumbles, perhaps too excited to be reunited with his sword, and his swing misses, discharging his 1st level spell.

Initiative, please. Sumatek, up until this point has been silently following the group. His mind has been long forfeit and he allowed himself to survive by become mindless, but something within him stirs as Miro unlocks the chain around his ankle. Sumatek had watched as Miro stole the key from Argent's pack a moment ago and now Sumatek finds himself free, if only for a moment. In the darkness it is difficult to make out anything, but he knows where his opponents are and that's all that matters.

Sumatek:
You still have most of your equipment, except for the sunrods, tindertwigs, and thieves tools. You have managed so far to conceal your magic items from capture and you have re-equipped yourself with weapons from the drow. Also: Welcome to the game!

The map is here.

male Halfling rogue 6

Freedom at long last... initiative1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

Sumatek immediately goes on instinct into stealth1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26 and drops in a low fighting stance. Peering around the dark cave allowing his eyes to adjust perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 he sees fighting. It was time for payback. It was time to move.

full move to as close ad I can get towards argent I believe. Rogue feat fast stealth no penalty to movement. Moving to get into a flanking position next round.

Round 4
24-Casvian and Dratis
13-Driders
12-Sumatek
11-Alric
4-Thundrik/slaves
3-Argent/slaves

Casvian launches another volley at his target, but the darkness obscures his vision and his aim is off. All arrows fly ineffectively off. Dratis also misses his target, perhaps his final mistake.

The flanked Drider swings his mace underhand and brings it up on Dratis, who falls to the ground, and does not get up. It appears he has fought his last. The drider then moves its focus to the other Barbarian. Its mace catches Thundrik squarely, and dislocates his jaw. 14 damage, crit. The other Drider clambers up the wall, out of reach before casting another spell. Lightning springs forth from its fingertips, aimed directly at Argent. The man is not quick enough to dodge this assault and takes the full effect of the hit. 16 damage

Everyone else?

Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorceror 4/Dragon Disciple 2

What is the spread of the web i'm in?

male Halfling rogue 6

Sumatek sees one of the driders deliver what could be a killing blow to a human. He sees another human struggling to fend off the other drider as well. perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Any enemy of those driders is a friend of mine. Maybe I can get the drop on the beast as well.

Sumatek recalls the stories of the underdark that his adoptive elven parent told him and of the hated enemies of all surface elves.

Driders can only mean Drow. I must have been poisoned or charmed which is why I have no idea how I came to be here.

assuming that the map squares are 5' blocks

Magnu123:
I use a full round action to move toward Argent. I will attempt to stay stealthed Fast Stealth as well not sure of the DC. I would stop at the position D/21 within Xbow range of the drider that Argent is attacking.
Stealth 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29.
Also adjusted my stealth skill by 2 I found a mistake. As well as some skills that I had originally reduced due to armor check penalties.

The web was partly caught by the rocks, so it's your square and the rocks adjacent to you. Next map update will have them color-coded.

Sumatek is not certain, but he thinks he has the drop on his target, despite it being 20 feet in the air. and yes, the squares are all 5ft in all directions despite them being rectangular.

Witness to Change:
Your story starts a bit differently. You have indeed been captured by the drow and working for them, but instead of being in the lead mines, they found you most useful working in the fields providing food and sustenance. Things have been quiet here for a while. You managed to escape through cunning and stealth and you find yourself the only one left on the fields beside the undead you have become accustomed to working with. Initiative and perception, please. You have all of your equipment and spells.

Edelle:
You will have to work off Miro's initiative, the same as Argent's. Your action would be held until Miro unlocked your shackles. After that, you're free to act as you like. Keep in mind that it is dark, and that you don't have your primary weapon on you, just a pickaxe.

I meant that I'd likely provoke an AoO from my movement, since the Drider is large and I assumed that it has reach. (I don't know if it actually does or not.) So, let me get this straight- did I actually hit!? It's a miracle!

yeah, it is a bit counter-intuitive, but no reach. And no, its not a miracle, it's a +11 to hit, in any case, what would you like to do on your move?

Sigh... I'm going to regret noticing this, but I just realized I was using my in-rage stats for that attack. The actual bonuses would have been two lower- so an attack roll of 18 and 11 damage. (I realized it because I decided to go into rage this round, and then looked where I've got my rage stats listed and realized my mistake.) So if an 18 hits, then the damage is two lower, and if an 18 doesn't hit then that was yet another big whiff. :-( Unless, of course, if you'll allow me to say I began my rage last round, but I don't expect that. I'm terribly sorry for the mistake.

You may not have had your rage bonus, but you did have charge and flanking, so you're good to go for the next round. By the by, I have a huge respect for your honesty and integrity to fair-play.

Male Dwarf Druid 5

Dice:
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Witness crouches among the mushrooms that he's spent the last few weeks carefully tending, peering out and taking stock of the situation.

Witness:
You hear someone approaching down the tunnel from a long distance away. Their pace is slow and regal. You wonder to yourself if this person if friend or foe, but you know the answer is most likely the former. You have no allies in the city of darkness. As the footsteps draw nearer, you find a position of cover behind a fertilizer heap. You peer out and see the drow Queen, Lashilsh herself. She is a powerful necromancer, come to collect her minions. This tells you that something big is happening and you have a chance now to stop it. She has not seen you, and she is within twenty feet, central to the room. You know that you may die in this fight, but something tells you that it's OK.

Male Dwarf Druid 5

As he hears what is likely an enemy approaching, Witness starts covertly casting, preparing himself for battle. Confident that the general echoes of dripping water in the large cavern will cover his quiet chanting, he casts Barkskin, Cat's Grace, and Aspect of the Falcon. On peeking out and spotting the drow priestess, a satisfied glint comes into his eyes. The drow are a plague on everything I hold dear, and this one in particular owes me for my times as a slave. This will be a good death. Remaining in a crouch and casting around a large mushroom, he begins the ritual to bring some allies into being.

Witness is casting Summon Nature's Ally II, choosing to summon 1d3 ⇒ 1 vipers, centered on the drow.

Witness:
After you cast your first spell(barkskin), you see that she is looking around, perhaps she has heard something, perhaps not. She goes about gathering the undead together into one location. She is walking currently towards the largest concentration of skeletons. You'll need to roll stealth to get off that much buffing without being noticed. Your turn, you still have the drop on her though.

Male Dwarf Druid 5

Is the area where the drow and skeletons are a valid target for Entangle? Roots or fungus or somesuch?

Absolutely.

Male Dwarf Druid 5

Trying to keep himself as concealed as possible, Witness places one hand on his sacred tattoo and makes a smooth twining motion with his other, murmuring under his breath.

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Casts Entangle (DC 15), placing it so that it stops just short of himself and includes the drow and as many skeletons as possible.

Female Human Monk 7

Firstly I want to confirm where the story is up to:
* I've been captured and stripped of equipment (although some of the group recently got gear back, should that apply to me as well?)
* My shackles have just been undone
* I presume that places me at I26 on the map.

Having felt so confined as a slave I really want to get some movement into my limbs and hit some stuff.

As I can't quite make it to and then attack the Drider that Dratis and Thundrik are attacking, I'll move into a flanking position with a double move. I believe I can just reach W25 (without provoking AOO if the Driders have only 5' reach) ready to 5' step in and attack next round.

Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorceror 4/Dragon Disciple 2

Edelle or DM:
The group has been captured and stripped of most of our equipment. IIRC Witness actually never lost his gear, and Thundrick never lost is mining pick when he was sent to the mines. The rest of us lost at minimum, our primary weapon, I do not know what else you are missing. The only gear recovery so far has been when Alric broke out of the Temple complex. He recovered a portion of his own gear as well as Argent's Black blade, which he returned to Argent last round.

Oh, and welcome to all the new players :)

You are right on all counts, friend. Taking a quick assessment of your gear on hand as Miro undoes your chains, you find yourself without any normal light source (ioun torch and flint/steel in your case), without any weapon besides your pickaxe, and without your headband of wisdom.

Still waiting on actions for the round from Alric and Thundrik (and Argent if he's around) before we move on.

male Halfling rogue 6

Posting next action now i may be unavailable tomorrow

The two humans in front of him seemed to be hardpressed by the attacks from the driders. Sumatek also thought he could hear sounds of fighting somewhere else in the area.
perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

I need to help these humans they may be my only way out of here

Sumatek attempts to hide amongst the shadows stealth 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 again as he moves as close as he can to get into atacking distance. moving to d,13 on the map and drawing my rapier as a free action during the movement

Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorceror 4/Dragon Disciple 2

Not sure what I should be rolling to escape, as Web the ability is different than Web, the spell.

CM Check to escape Web 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Move to E10, avoiding the enemy's reach

Alric:
It was the extraordinary ability, so according to its rules, it's a strength check, a direct destruction of the web, or an escape artist check. Sorry about the re-doing. DC is 18 just fyi.

Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorceror 4/Dragon Disciple 2

In that case:
Concentration to cast Corrosive Touch DC16 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Attack the web 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
damage 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 3, 1) + 5 = 13

Aha! I hadn't realized I was flanking. (I was able to look at the map today so I see that I was, indeed, flanking.) That makes my attack bonus the same, so the only thing that would have changed is the damage- but it's up to you whether two points of damage is a big deal or not. So with that being said, I'm definitely raging this round. AC 17.

After colliding with the spider-creature, he feels an unknown force well up inside him and explode with a terrifying roar. Using his body as an uncontrollable weapon, he attacks the drider with reckless abandon.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 251d6 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Round 4 review
24-Casvian
13-Driders
12-Sumatek
11-Alric
4-Thundrik/slaves
3-Edelle and Argent

Sumatek advances to a position where he can use his crossbow on the driders. He is not going to let this opportunity for revenge pass by. As he conceals himself in the shadows, he remains confident that no one can see him. He hears the sound of battle behind to his right. He also picks up the tortured screams of the innocent still ongoing from within the Drow Temple.
Alric ignites the webbing around him with his acidic grip. He is now free and takes his opportunity to move to a better position.
Thundrik smashes against his target again, a power welling up inside of him after being hit. He embraces the rage, if only for a moment.
Edelle stretches her legs and moves halfway across the battlefield before stopping, ready to attack next round.
Argent's eye bleeds a glowing red as he gazes intently upon the spider creature hanging above. The creature seems distracted by the image of Argent's eye, and may be easier to hit.

Alright, Casvian is up, then the driders.

Witness:
You cast your spell, hoping that you are stealthy enough to avoid detection. You duck back behind the compost heap after finishing the incantation, and you hear the sounds of roots and growth, like wet wood rubbing up against the palm. You are uncertain as to whether or not you have caught your opponents in your trap, but you hear Lashilsh speaking in a harsh dialect that you don't understand. and then she releases a magical effect herself. You fear the animals nearby may give away your position. They are fond of you and fear Lashilsh, as such even the Goblin dogs whimper and look to you for support.

New map is up. Witness' battle is further down on the page, everyone else is higher up.

Male Dwarf Druid 5

Looking up sharply at the animals, Witness makes a snapping flick of his hand in their direction, urging them to flee. Handle Animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Tracing a pattern up his tattoo, Witness begins to quietly hiss some sibilant syllables. Quietly casting (Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6) Summon Natures Ally II to bring 1d3 ⇒ 3 eagles into being, two centered right above the drow and one at his side.
