In short, this homebrew was intended for beginner GM's. The story contains a variety of elements in sequence that gradually go through different terrains, battle situations, and other challenges to allow a DM to become familiar with the rules.
Ok, so what I'm getting is that we're mostly fine with speeding things up, but for some, doing so is a bit more difficult due to RL commitments.
I'd like to put forward the idea of moving rolls behind the screen. This means that we spend less time with the back and forth of asking for specific rolls, and then waiting for everyone to respond before moving on. I would make the rolls and you would decide your actions. What do we think of this? I'm told it's a more common practice on pbp campaigns.
Alternatively, you could posts your own rolls with your actions when you know you will need a roll. For example, attacks. But I would make any of the rolls that happen automatically (vs. spells, traps, perception)

The reactionary rolls would still be made in public it'd just be that they are made by our friendly DM in his post instead of waiting ~12 hours for us to post our individual reflex saves.
I am wondering why an awesome critical hit attempting to slice of the unseen manipulating hands sliced through the do-do instead?
Mechanically, what the couple has given you is a random extra effect to any single attack you make, but you must also make a fortitude save for each time you use that attack. The DC increases with frequency. The benefits and penalties are not made clear to you. Frustratingly, these people speak in generalities, philosophies, and riddles.
I had perceived the speak with master ability to mean that the creature speaks any language the master does, but others perceive it as just animal noises or gibberish. You can skin the mechanic however you like, but the cat doesn't actually have any languages natural to it. (vocal chords not able to articulate in the right ways and such.

Ah, wasn't sure if the cat was just a cat with the celestial template or an outsider that resembled a cat.
Either way, I go about speaking with it in random languages until the point at which I realize that it isn't responding to me in kind, it's simply speaking and my mind is interpreting it as speech on it's part, at which point I resume speaking in common.

You forget, Alric can't hear the cat's speech, and is still considering temporary insanity is the explanation. Even if accepted, its still an odd occurence to him.
Casvian has no interest in playing with dragons at the moment due to his current condition, but he will not make a big deal of it if the others wish to go.

Teriwyth is of a similar sentiment, though on his best day he wouldn't even think about going against a dragon. Though Edelle expressed interest in going and he's hardly one to keep people from their fun.
The Monk weapon fiasco seems illogical to me. They can flurry unarmed without using two appendages, so adding another qualifier for weapons just seems like extraneous complication. For me, I think we should carry on as we always have.
Alric: As long as you if/when it ends in the evening, You don't have to mention it. We'll consider it part of the morning ritual. Brush teeth, Wash face, prepare for monsters biting your face, floss. etc.
For the visual learners Black blocks are buildings. Borders are plateaus of hilltops. Going from outside to in requires a DC 10 climb check to avoid slipping on the slick and wet. Failure indicates no movement. failure by 5 or more incidates falling and moving down the hill 5 feet. Standard high ground rules apply otherwise.
I plan for the events of the rodeo to run together quite smoothly. This means that there will be some large walls of text. If you would like to interject with an action at any point, feel free to do so. I will limit my posts to once every 2 days(except to answer questions/ask for dice rolls) so that everyone has a chance to read and comment.
For the sake of expediency, You folks can assume the ranch hands are cooperative enough to listen to all of your questions before they speak. This will save us having to wait for back and forth.
