In short, this homebrew was intended for beginner GM's. The story contains a variety of elements in sequence that gradually go through different terrains, battle situations, and other challenges to allow a DM to become familiar with the rules.
1 person posted that we should ambush at the edge of town.
I got the quantity of animals seen clarified then suggested we attempt to pick some off earlier.
There has been no discussion.
Edelle, Sumatek and Casvian have probably spent ~3 seconds from when we saw the animals leaving the cave thinking about what to do. And by thinking I am referring to those three statements I mentioned above.

We could try to climb, but i kind of like the idea of standing on the roofs or on the balcony and picking them off as they mill about in the street. Most of the town has barricaded themselves, so it will be like a shooting gallery.

If I can get on a building i'll do that but if not just on the road at M-106
I think we all wanted the top of the buildings, but not many of use have the climb skills to make the check. Even with a rope I am hard pressed so now I am trying to shoot out of a high story window if I can get to one. Barring that I will fight from the ground.
Sorry for the delay everyone. No internet at home so I have to drag my laptop around town and steal someone's wifi. Anyways, I have decided that, after this combat finishes, I will switch to google documents permanently. That said, the latest itteration of this map is now up for viewing. I've noted lit areas. Which have bright light. Dim light is beyond that, but there is still nothing to be seen. Those with Low-light vision note a number of other cats running up through the tall grass.
To address Casvian's point: I have been very generous with Light up to this point (Especially in the drow underground.) If you can identify the location of opponents, you're golden. Unfortunately, that is just one of the weaknesses of ranged characters: They are reliant on vision. Your comment is noted appropriately though. It has been very slow going lately.
I just realised that the way I wanted to play this round of combat really doesn't work with the way combat has been done so far. Am I going to be able to act in this round knowing what the cats have done?
If I want to delay my action till after our enemies close in I have to choose what to do blindly right? IE something like "5' step back then flurry at the creature in front of me" and then work out what AoO happened during the round?

@ Casvian- Regarding the horses: as a ranger, you are entitled to the wild empathy ability to handle them As far as knowing what their motivation is, you can get that information from just a sense motive check.
Edelle: Strangely enough, yes you can make AoO's while slowed as there is nothing expressly forbidding it. One could argue that the wording of the slow spell prevents the use of immediate actions, as the character is limited to one move or one standard action, but that makes little sense to me.

Indeed, as there are conditions like Flat-Footed, and Grappled that clearly state that a person cannot take an Attack of Opportunity those conditions that don't say it allow Attacks of Opportunity.
So I've just been wondering about this. How's the pace going for everyone? Personally, I'd like to see posts a little bit more often, but I understand if everyone else has obligations IRL. Just let me know what you all think about speeding up the process a bit.

That would be fine with me, sometimes I'm really strapped for time and can only poke my head in, but lately I've had a lot of time and I haven't seen much movement on the posts.
I play silent-types a lot too. I find it helps keep engaged if they are very physically expressive. I'll describe the grimace on their face, or their posture "Jon leaned against his bow, the look on his facing saying it all: those fools. "
