so, everyone except Maximo finds themselves in the lobby of the torchbearers, waiting for thier turn at an interview, surrounded by other potential applicants, who wind up looking at the dragon in the room more often then not. A woman runs into the room, beat high heavily, obviously panicked, and the other applicants glance among themselves.
Maximo, i have plans for how to get you in. Just give it a bit.
Marco Theseus Cain |
Marco raises himself from his coiled position on the ground "what happened" he asks as he draws his weapon and shield
Marco Theseus Cain |
not fish, water snake, Mer if you will
Marco Theseus Cain |
Marco asks her "are you hurt, are you in need of medical assistance" if she says yes he shouts out asking if anyone here was a doctor or cleric, or healer of any kind, if she says she is all right he says "then I must be off," he says somewhat disappointed ah, well, I can always apply later, this is more important
Victor Grey |
assumption 1: we know our way around the city well enough to get there
non-assumption but more of a dilemma. I have never thought about what personality to have with this guy, time break out the book of "cold" puns, maybe I break into some songs from Frozen....nahhh strike that about the singing
It will be alright miss, keep your cool, we will go and handle the situation. You stay here and chill out, we should return in no time.
Victor heads out following the others.
Marco Theseus Cain |
"Then I must be off, duty calls," he says slithering off faster than one would expect of a Merfolk that is 30ft per 6 seconds, spent a feat and a customization point on that just to keep me even with the rest of the party :P
Marco Theseus Cain |
Marco slithers foward and braces his trident in case it charges hissing angrily at it.1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2... Well then I'm last
Maximo aralius |
Blood stained armor shined in the harsh sunlight as he followed the monster closely. Saying nothing, maximo raced after the creature, his only regret is letting the thing live long enough to escape the confines of the Colosseum. But he smiled grimly as he thought about how he would rectify the mistake soon. Initiative Roll(1d20)+0:13,+0 Total:13
icehawk333 |
initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
no one can be at that, i think...
the beast charges at Maximo, taking a huge snap at him, and while it barley grabs his shoulder, still does a lot of damage..
to-hit: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
take 9 damage. Zadron runs near. Waiting on initiative from the dragon and ed.
"Growly" |
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
With his constant prestidigitation, the small dragon begins throwing cheaply conjured items, rubber ducks and magic trick pieces to bring its attention onto him, while flying and staying just out of reach.
Not sure what mechanical effect this would have or what roll you want me to make. Maybe the +1 to hit aid another check?

had a game tonight which turned out to be quite fun using the random dungeon generator
initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
with the approach of what he considers as friendly's Victor looks for possible options.
He simply approaches a bit (to get within 30') as a frost covers his hand. and with a single gesture a blast of snow erupts from his hand, solidifying into ice as it flies toward the creature.
ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 2 - 4 = 1 (-4 firing into melee)
the blast doing nothing more than freezing a horse trough on the other side of the street, trapping a frog in mid leap now half frozen in the ice.
icehawk333 |
the owlbear turns, leaving his ex-pray staggering around, and turns to the small dragon taunting him. In a fit of rage, the creature turns and lunges at the dragon, jumping to get within reach. The creature grabs him with one of his claws, digging deep into the dragon's flesh, and pulling him down it get ground in the creature's grasp.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
1d20 + 24 ⇒ (20) + 24 = 44
take 15 damage, and become grappled.
Victor Grey |
Victor moves back a few steps hoping to avoid being the next meal. and he hurls a blast of icy cold frost at the creature
ranged touch vs. grappling creature: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 = 13
cold damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
icehawk333 |
attempting to escape a grapple is a standard action, using grapple or escape artist, against the owlbear's CMD.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
the acid sprays near the owlbear's face, even as he moves his head out of the way, burning off his fur and some of the skin on his face, leaving a cauterized, furless, scabbed mess on his face. The owlbear roars loudly, spitting all over the small creature, even more enraged.
Marco Theseus Cain |
if you knew you weren't strong enough to have it target you why did you provoke it, I was bracing for it to charge me and I'm physically what it would instinctually deal the biggest threat (I'm a giant snake with arms and I'm shiny) the mer curses the foolishness of the tiny drake as he slithers rapidly towards the creature stabbing his trident into the creature's back1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 19 2d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5, 4) + 5 + 1 = 15

This is why. It wasn't supposed to be able to reach him.

the creature roars and drops the dragon, turning to his new assailant, attacking in a flurry of fur and fangs, the owlbear lashes out at the heavily armored psion.

hit, hit hit, and grapled, all of that succeeded... I got a wee bit over confidant... and by that I mean you could potentially drop me with a strong wind now hold on while I look up the rules for attacking while grappled, Dragon dude and others, please go before me, uh does it look "bloodied" eg at 50% HP or below?
Marco Theseus Cain |
you couldn't just hit it once before you went... After I saved you, you can fly it can't one move action would get you completely out of it's reach... Why didn't you claw at it first....
Victor Grey |
Victor runs through several options in his head, he doesn't want to harm his allies (at least not any more).
finally moving to keep as much distance as possible but still within spell range. Victor swirls his hand in a circular motion creating a miniature blizzard in his palm then he blows the snow toward the creature. causing it to swirl int its face.
Daze on the creature DC13 will to negate

ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16 (-4 no precise shot)
the universe just loves proving me wrongs doesn't it?!?
cold damage with frozen Caress: 3d6 + 1 + 1d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) + 1 + (1) = 8
wow a whole 8 out of a possible 22 damage
