What knowledge(s) are trolls under?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Uh....

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Local, apparently...

o_0

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

monstrous humanoids are local iirc

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

trolls, as it seems, are actually humanoid (giant).

Monstrous humanoids are nature.

Funnily enough, Growly is half right.
The word troll comes from the word toll. To cross a toll bridge or gate, one would often have to pay a keeper. Needless to say these people were disliked more often than not. So, one would say that you must pay the Troll as a derogatory term and it stuck, becoming the name of an unpleasant creature which then later went on to become less associated with bridges and more just being annoying and difficult to be rid of.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Yeah, I know the old troll mythology.

Under the bridge, and all that.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Looked it up, there actually is a troll slayer's kit.

Kit, Troll Slayer's

Price 30 gp; Weight 17 lbs.

This kit includes 1 vial of alchemist's fire, 1 flask of acid, 10 torches, one tindertwig, and 5 flasks of oil.

Naw, totally made that up. :P

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I'm just spirited surprised you found it.

Almost no-one looks at the kits.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

I look at the kits.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Really? Are they cute?

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Kits as in the set of tools which is what the discussion was about are not generally cute
Kits as in Baby foxes, super adorable.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I'm functioning on yesterday's sleep rght now.

I haven't sleep last night.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Neither did I, I was walking an running for miles.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

When do you usually sleep?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Not that I'm complaining. If I can make it tonight without sleeping before hand, I can hopefully correct my sleep habits.

I've been lying awake for house every time I go to be for the past week, so hopefully I can get my sleep schedule fixed.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

I usually sleep from 6:30~am to 2pm, but now I'm working for two hours later so 9 to 3

Most of my characters have either a class or pathfinder's kit.

RETIRED

Soooooo.....

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Oh. Also, over the course of the time-skip, you can assume you each earned about 300 gold.

Torchbearers are rather well paid.

Woo!
Can I make a perform check or is that part of where that comes from?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Part of where that comes from, considering you trained with a bard.

RETIRED

K.
He'd eat any of the spare change he got anyways. XD

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I've got a setup planned out, by the way. This should really start to pick up, I hope.

Also, I'm considering adding a fourth person, if someone wants to invite someone else.

Can I ask DB3?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Yeah.

He may not be able to because he just applied to another game, but he's a cool guy, so I wanted to offer.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Alright.

That, and I offered when I first made it.

Thought we had. Can't hurt, though. And now we're gestalt.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Most useful party niches would be spell casting but as it stands we could do without.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

You are aware the anti-troll kit is a few silver pieces, right?

The top chart is wrong. It's listed price in its description is thirty gp.

At thirty SP, you could buy them and sell the components for more than you payed each...

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Oh, I thought you said it was 150 gp...
He'll buy 5 kits then.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

That's for foul's tangleburn bags...

So I redownloaded the draconomicon after I had Growly say he doesn't like spiders. I read a bit and gave Taste a cursory glance. It actually explicitly states as an example that Copper Dragon love the taste of venomous creatures...
So I changed that.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Ok then. Don't think the drow woudl say an things different, though he would be a bot more cautious around the eggs.

Read the bit on coppers.
Really interesting.
I've actually been playing him fairly well without knowing it. Even including his tendency to enjoy the tight spaces in the rafters and hunting down vermin in the guild.
Even just the idea that he's very social fits.
Rather happy it turned out that way. :)

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Cool.

^_^

RETIRED

We should give Mr.Grumpy a bit to talk to the other Mr.Grumpy. ^_^

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Indeed.

Oh, and growly, if you (in charecter) are getting bored of talking to this guy, make a perception check.

Don't know why the class doesn't list scent. All dragons have scent.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Hombrewer wasn't perfect.

You have scent- I don't see any reason why not.

Or not?
Draconomicon says dragons have scent, but it isn't listed on any of them.
Doesn't make sense to me.
Scent wasn't even a thing back then, I don't think.
Maybe that's why. It wasn't written down, so they didn't list it. Everything reads like they should, though.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Might be the blindsense.

You can have scent, either way.

Be it natural, or just you.

Thanks.
I like scent. Scent makes characters fun.
One of the things I like about Tybs.
I'm pretty sure they didn't have scent because it wasn't visual or auditory, so when they went from a check for seeing and a check for hearing to one check, it wasn't factored in and didn't get grandfather into pathfinder.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Seems I went a but too far ahead...
Sorry, Kryz.

I got a bit eager.

Ted esque?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I just ignored that.
Prolly a tyop.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Ted esque as in akin to or having solar charasticists to Ted
One of the main characters of EGS.
