Don't mean to be the not-talky one here—we're all supposed to be charismatic bards, after all—I just figure in the current situation, Jack is the most paranoid and quiet, and currently somewhat convinced that if he makes the wrong move Thrune agents will burn down his house while he sleeps.

You're good. Some posts will be other-player centric as well... simply by virtue of my attempts to tie them in with the narrative. Nandy never expects trouble, because Nandy explicitly is not involved. I think Rexus suggested you not get her involved in a roundabout way, and if I didn't, he should have. :)

Will try to get a post up tomorrow in ~10 hours? Not sure. I worked 11 hours today... and will tomorrow... and the day after... :p (Plus 10 thursday and friday... and saturday, Iunno.)

I can, of course, only speak for myself: But I am perfectly fine doing some RP with the others again when we arrive at the Livery if you don't have time to push things forward.
e.g. asking Rakhel why she can't go home.(an alien concept to Kesin...actually HAVING a home is great, and she can't think of a proper reason to avoid going there).Rakhel |
omg... that's a grueling schedule... hope you survive it all.

Going to push back til after work, cause slept too much. :P Hopefully I don't become 'that DM who says things and doesn't do them!' :P
I'm actually more likely to do smaller scenes for each of you that have somewhere else to go, and a larger scene at the Lucky Bones. If those of you who don't have obligations desire, you can simply talk where you are now, or talk once you arrive at the Lucky Bones or Fair Fortune Livery. The results are roughly the same: Ruined building in the middle of town, in various states of disrepair. Lucky Bones is much worse off than Fair Fortune. Sorry!

I apologize for delaying so much, but I'm burning a candle at all ends. I'll try to get a post tonight, but it may take until sunday night. I just... have so many things to do in my waking hours, and so little time. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

No worries! I thought I should let you all know too that I've got a conference coming up next week, so between traveling and actually attending, my posting may be somewhat erratic over the next few days. On the road until late tomorrow, and then between Wednesday and late Friday next week it's anyone's guess when I'll be able to post: probably only late in the evenings, but I'll do my best.
And remember Edna St. Vincent Millay's "First Fig:"
My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends --
It gives a lovely light!

I think the new job is...punishing. 69 hours of work in a week-punishing.
I sure hope things become better(=more relaxed) for Hotaru, but since I recently started GM'ing my own game, I know it's a whole different beast running a game, compared to playing in one...
So yeah, just saying I'm all fine with a slower pace, too :)
(and last update was just 2 days ago ;) )
Haute DM |
Yeah, GM is fine. Ish. Just insanely tired, and didn't like constantly saying sorry or making promises.
Main priority is keeping my best friend happy... then I worry about games. Posting as a player, even discussing theory, is a whole lot easier than slipping into character and doublechecking the long-term ramifications of how I react to any given thing. :)
This week is looking to be 70+
Rakhel |
oh my... that's a grueling schedule - life must always take priority - just post when you can... Patience is a virtue, so until then I'll try to be virtuous, :)
Rakhel |
Will be at Gamex this weekend (Fri-Mon)... will check in as and when I can, but no guarantees - depends on hotel wifi and charging possibilities... Bot me as necessary to keep the pace of the game up, don't want to slow things down.

I know there's been a lot of radio silence from me lately, and it's one of those things that kind of upsets me more than anything. I keep meaning to do things... but I keep deciding to do other things, instead. Like sleep. Or go to the store.
My life has become constant work, with most weeks being well above 60 hours, and I just don't have the time to be a good DM right now. I can see about returning later, if things change... but for now, it's not fair to anyone involved for me to 'want to' instead of simply doing. That... and I'm tired of constantly being disappointed in myself for not updating. So... I can give you guys a PM if you're still around if I ever develop more free time, but for now... I'm going to have to put this game on pause.
Kesin |
Sorry to hear that. Was looking forward to seeing where Kesin goes, so here's hoping you eventually manage to pick this up again. I'll be around if so, so gimme a whistle(plus I don't think I could easily find another home for a Kitsune Child Oracle built to be a City Avatar.) ;)
//(Unless, of course, one of the players wants to pick it up meanwhile continuing with a GM PC...Unfortunately my current workload prohibits me from doing so... - and assuming you would not be opposed to that idea, Hotaru.)
Haute DM |
If someone explicitly wants to snatch you guys up, I won't keep you. I can also provide notes for where I was planning to take things for different people's stories, if that is to come to pass, so they can know where I was going with things without leaving dangling plot threads (like the entire current scene. :))
Kesin |
Hehe, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to ditch you, I know _I_ am willing to wait, especially because Kesin will have a hard time finding another home being built specifically for this.
But if the game will be inactive a couple months, other people may have moved on, or you may decide to rather slide back into a few games if you find yourself with slightly more time, instead of overextending yourself trying to pick up a GM mantle again as soon as things ease up a bit.
So I felt compelled to note the option...unlikely as it may be-
Rakhel |
I will still be here when and if things get easier and you decide to restart... still want to play!
Adonara Strixis |
I'm happy to wait, too. It's taken a while for me to chime in since school's been busy - not anywhere near as exhausting as our GM's schedule, but a fair bit of running around and scheduling issues as conference season hits and coordinating with folks dashing around the world on a variety of projects gets a bit trickier.
Haute DM |
Unfortunately, no. I had a sort of false-alarm regarding not having to work as much. Supervisor informed my cell that we'd be working 7 days a week for six+weeks starting this week. :(
