Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |
Hecate's basically just chilling and chatting for now. Seeing Skylar isn't important (unless Skylar wants it to be!), and can easily be forwarded through. ^^
Hot DM |
Yeah... I'll get back to you when I add it all up and am not exhausted. It'll probably be a few days, though, since my job is so busy.
Edit: Or I can just look at the only posts I remember, where I already did all the math, and use the search function. Go me!
Hot DM |
**All three kinds of Taser are available. Just pick one.
Each battery of Hecate quality is 100gp. = 200gp
5 DC 11 Tranqs = 125 gp.
2 DC 13 Tranqs = 150 gp.
As for Silver Bullets there are two kinds:
Basic bullets made out of silver cost 25 gp each, normally. Here, due to advanced processes, you can get them for 10 each. So 70 gp.
Masterwork Backpack is still 50 gp.
Rubber Bullets will be 5gp each (here), so 150gp.
A fortnight of Trail Rations is 7 gold.
**A water purifier is a little harder. You can get water purification sponges for 25gp each, and each will purify a single pint (half a day of water) 25 times. Essentially, you are paying 2 gold per half gallon of water. (A day's supply) So this is more based on 'amount of purification you want to have available'
A bandolier is negligible compared to everything else.**I have placed asterisks next to things that depend on you, that you need to add personally.
750gp (rounding down slightly), plus your choice of Taser and the number of 'sponges' you want for your kit.Alternatively to the sponges, is the decanter of endless water (for all your underdark drowning needs), which costs 9,000.
To my knowledge, you sold 5k worth of stuff (4k breastplate, 1k seed), and spent 865 above (you chose one of each taser type). This leaves you with a net gain of 4135. If you've bought anything else, or sold anything else, you can modify things in relation to that. :) Those are the only two posts I actively recall about buying and selling (you'd previously stolen some silver bullets).

I'd intended to ask last night after a long day of work if Roy would like to meet with Skylar specifically in character, or would like to simply handwave over it. I didn't get that up due to my computer at home having something weird going on (It doesn't let me load Paizo in google chrome; I tried it in another browser before leaving for work, and it worked fine... I had something like 80 posts to read through in my games. :|)
So: Roy, do you want to roleplay the Skylar meeting, or is it mostly unimportant to you?
@Pierce: I'll have something interesting for you to interact with shortly (today or this afternoon/evening), looter of bodies. :)
To everyone else, including Roy: You'll be 'falling through the cracks' soon. You know that you'll either do so soon, or you'll stay here, based on what's been shared with you. That means you may want to make any preparations you'd like to make known. Likewise, if this just isn't what you signed on for, now's a good time to let me know you'll be skipping out. :)
Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |
Oh, I'm happy to stay. XD And as a note, Hecate's generally carrying everything important on her at all times - she doesn't know exactly when they'll be warping again, and has exactly no intention whatsoever of leaving important things (like her new tools!) behind.
Hot DM |
One thing you know about things that belong to you: They've 'fallen' with you at every interval after the first. Even if they weren't with you (for example, the breastplate and chain shirt wasn't really 'with' anyone, but came with them anyway). In a few more falls, I'll let you know what's going on and the rules of it (as far as you can understand it. :))
Roy McCallow |
I was at a youth retreat as an adult since Saturday. Sorry.
Roy will go and meet with Skylar. He's really not sure what Hecate wants him to do.
Did we have a resolution on the phone, solar charger, and mini Skylar dealie? Whether it would work, and how much it would cost?
Hot DM |
Possibly! But here are the bigger things:
Solar Charger is easy. As is Phone. You'd probably want extra SD cards or the like in order to store more video. A mini Skylar would be on the lines of 'Siri'. There's no real way to work around that; Skylar isn't really programmed. Roy is right that she's pretty much a person. :) If he just wants a program with her voice that's friendly and acts as a microsoft paperclip, easily doable. If he wants a real Skylar... that's gonna be difficult. :)
Also, bear in mind, that telephones specifically work because of infrastructure. Unless I'm off base here (as I was with the Taser! I can be wrong!) even a satellite phone works because you have something designed to bounce the signal off of. As a direct result... a lot of the time, you're going to have a small solar-powered laptop.
If you'd like a portable computer, that's also an option. It's just about money, and I think Pierce controls the power of the purse (though Skylar may likewise help out). :)
Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |
Basically, Hecate just wants him to look around and learn whatever he can about how Skylar functions. XD Imagine, oh, taking an engineer to an assembly line. They may not understand every single part and piece, but by looking at what they can see, they can get a general sense of how Materials A, B, and C become Product D.
Hecate's not expecting Roy to rebuild Skylar elsewhere, just (hopefully) get a general sense of how that might be possible.
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
Sure
Ok, according to d20 modern,
50gp for 2 15 mile range walkie talkies, so if I'm remembering right that's 125 for everybody.
A laptop is 400 (waterproofing for an extra 50)
And a smart satellite phone is 900
I'll take all of them
Could I just say my masterwork backpack has waterproofing?
If not, I'll just take a few durable garbage bags and put the stuff in there before putting them in the masterwork backpack
Everyone else should also be having masterwork backpacks, and help me carry this
If he's buying everybody a masterwork backpack that totals to 1625gp, leaving me with 2510.
Hot DM |
You're fine to assume that any sort of masterwork gear is waterproofed to a point. Unless they're specifically built for the usage, you can assume that what's inside will have a terrible time if fully submerged for long periods of time. So... deluge of rain, totally. Hidden in a bog? Don't bet your life. :) Even with not being perfectly waterproofed, you can assume that unless -you- intentionally put them there, you're good!
Your electronics should be fine so long as you don't do silly things with them. Even if you do do silly things, Hecate's skills and tools will let her fix them, for the most part. :)
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
I love those items that level up with you,
Unfortunately without the book I only have stats for the ice tiara and the fae robe
Hot DM |
I apologize for the delays thus far. I'll try to get something up... soon. Combine laziness with 'too tired for a big post' to result in 'man, I was wrong about work amping up not affecting me.' But don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. :)
It will effectively be Roy seeing Skylar first.
After that, it will be something for Pierce. Then, unless others have something they specifically want to do... falling through the cracks. :)
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
Cool :)
As a note, I was thinking of what I would replace Pierce with if he dies
I'm thinking we could use a medic (if you don't like this third party class I'll just reflavor an alchemist, in any case this only will matter I Pierce dies or falls through a different crack than you guys)
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
We have 1 smart satalite phone, 1 laptop, and one "professional grade" (15 mile range, several channels, Includes headset) walkie talkies each
We'll mostly be using the walkie talkies when we want to communicate, the phone is mostly just for checking to see if we're on a comparably developed world (eg. one with satalites or cell towers)
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
A walkie each, I don't have enough to get us all all of that each, and we wouldn't need more than one of the other two mentioned items anyway,
Scath Lynx |
I'll leave it up to you how to explain 'push the button and talk' to the feline.
Might be better if we just get an OK from the GM for Hope to have a comm suite added to her exoframe.
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
The cat would mostly just listen, it's not like we can understand him anyway
And Roy if you want you can carry the thing *shrug*
Hot DM |
You could probably add the same sorts of upgrades to her that you're buying now, sure. Though you'll need to be a bit more worried about 'her' getting damaged than your other electronics. If you want to use her as a relay station, just double up on the walky talky costs, and she can boost your signals to a thirty mile range. Not that I suspect you'll need it overmuch. :)
Hot DM |
Just let me know when you guys are done-ish with Skylar. I still wanna do something with Pierce, before you 'fall'. Remember, if you have any shopping to do, now is the time; the next location is quite likely to have a different set of interests and opportunities.
Scath Lynx |
Nothing to buy for Scath, and he doesn't understand tech, it's all magic. But he's figured out enough from dealing with Hope to know that this 'magic' is a lot less reliable than his traditional magic.
Scath Lynx |
Kitty's asleep.
♣♠Magic♦♥ |
It's actually another friend that's new to Paizo, but if we have room for two, we could do both.
Ice is stretched a little thin right now, so I wasn't going to bring it up to him because he'd feel obligated to make a character and add another game to keep up with to his shoulders.
Edit: Humber... >_<
Hot DM |
I don't want to leave this on a cliff-hanger, but I'm heading to face-to-face RP. Feel free to continue to roleplay and interact; Hecate's knowledgable enough in architecture to know that the place is stable, that it's just that corner. You can talk, make plans, serve tea (if you brought any), you get the idea. :)
I'll do my best to get a post up tonight, but I have morning shift tomorrow, and it may be delayed until 12ish. :)
Agent Pierce Brosnan |
How much would a metal camp kettle and a month's supply of tea cost?
I just realized my British character has only once had tea 'on camera'
Stereotypes tell you that they only ever drink two things, tea and booze
