Male Zora "Diplomat" (Priest) 1, 19/23 HP, 4 XP

Torillin nods sagely at the small Kokiri in answer to her question. "The Sheik seems to think we all have a role to play in the events to come," he comments under his breath.

In a normal voice, he addresses the woman. "My lady, would you be so kind as to explain what it was you were talking about just now?" he uses his calmest, smoothest inflections, practiced from long years as a diplomat to the Hylians from the Zora domain.

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Which woman?

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

I presume Shyrin, the Sheikah woman. As such...

The Sheikah woman, when directly spoken to, turns towards the Zora. Her iris and sclera are black, while her pupils are white. The voice that comes out is not the voice of Shyrin, but the voice of a male, with a thick accent.

"We are discussing the past. The great war, and the times that have passed. I am a... attempting to show her who she is, so that she will better understand who she will be. Few of us, yet remain, and so it is that our heritage rests upon her shoulders."

Female Human Oracle 1

Anya began to wonder if she'd be able to deal with the fairy and her new singing partner. "She doesn't seem to do much besides sing so i doubt you'll get that warning."

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Do you guys need more to go on? Remember, this is player driven. You say what you want, and I tell you how to try to do it. :)

XP 6

Hycorerox smiled at the Kokiri. "I have done you wrong, but I won't break out in song. My name is Hycorerox of the Mountain. You would find a big rock toad man in a fountain." he chuckles lightly and would carefully turn looking towards the Sheikah.

"Spirit of the Ancestor's of the Sheikah Tribe, I am by no means a great scribe. I will say taking over her body is unique. Is it a Sheikah specific technique? Are we needed here to resolve a problem now? If so can you guide us in how?'

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

"It is actually an ability of hers. She is a... medium of sorts." came the steady response of the entirely-wrong voice. "She can give of herself to the spirits, and the spirits will return the favor. Our shrine and burial ground has become twisted into something dark, the way forth sealed by our angry ancestors. We could perhaps sate them, if you were to promise to right that which has become wrong, within. I understand that you have other duties, however. We have spoken at length about these. There are powerful things hidden away here. Helpful and harmful. If you wish to enter, you can at least expect knowledge to become yours."

Male Zora "Diplomat" (Priest) 1, 19/23 HP, 4 XP

"Righting what was wrong is what we're all gathered here for, ...Shyrin? Shall I still call you that? It feels weird addressing a male voice with her name."

"Regardless, if the way can be opened, we should get on with it. The Sheik seemed to incidate that there was some urgency to the problem!" despite his grim words, Torilin makes a conscious effort to keep his voice light.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

"Shyrin is acceptable. You are speaking with her, while also speaking with me." the spirit responded. "We will work to open the gateway for you. You and yours should take the chance to rest. This will not be swift." The Sheikah girl and her cheval spirit head into the darkness off to the left, apparently unperturbed by the strange non-light.

You guys should take the time to heal up (original party) and get to know each other and develop some bonds, before heading into another dungeon. :) More bonds = more ability to aid. Bonds should have a feeling a target, and an intent. :)

XP 6

Shyrin speaks words we should heed. Some of you have rest you need. Let us find a place to stay. Where all of us can together lay. Time to talk and get to know, what is it that made us show. Each of us has different walks of life, but fate has made them converge because of the strife. The more we know of our group. The more we can aid and assist to recoup." Hycorerox would look at everyone and then looks around to see if any place was big enough for him. Seeing all the tiny doors he looked for a decent overhang they could be under.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Shyrin's original voice came from the spirit at this point, "You could use my home. It's just below the graveyard. Not quite big enough for all of you to be inside... but it probably won't rain again so soon."

There was also the haunted house that had been transformed into a tavern, and finally the gigantic windmill could assuredly hold everyone together.

Male Zora "Diplomat" (Priest) 1, 19/23 HP, 4 XP

"I enjoy the rain, if it comes," Torillin comments with a serene smile on his face. Gesturing to the newcomers, he says, "come, Shyrin's accommodations are humble but comfortable. Master Hycorerox might not fit through the door, but Gorons prefer the outdoors, it is said. Let us be off and I can cook for all of us. I caught some fish earlier today that I was planning to use either as a spell component, or for food." the Zora continues smiling. "Lord Jabu-Jabu's instruments are versatile."

The lithe young man makes off in the direction of the shelter, patting his fish-basket to the beat of their footsteps.

At Shyrin's place, he will swiftly begin to filet and cook the pan-fish that he caught, causing a rich smell to fill the hut. Occasionally, he will interrupt the flow of conversation (if there is one) to ask for someone to pass him seasonings or a lemon for the fish.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

The quickest way back to town, is through another small cave, which leads back into the tomb that Torilin had fought the redead in earlier. An open empty chest rests before a mural of the sun rising and setting. All of the Braziers in the tomb have been lit, making it a much simpler bit of travel. Portions of the floor are covered in green corrosive, slick goo, but the trip is uneventful. Climbing the ladder back out may be a little difficult for Hycorerox, but the hole is certainly large enough, and Gorons are accustomed to such things.

Leaving the tomb brings you into the Hyrule Cemetery, you stand beside a shattered stone covering, but it's still a quick trip into town, and Shyrin's house is the first home after leaving the graveyard; as stated, it is humble, and there isn't a great deal of personal belongings, but it's certainly homey.

Female Human Oracle 1

Anya, still not sure what to make of the newcomers, would be one of those that stayed outside due to the lack of room and when able would ask about how they could 'sate the angry ancestors'.

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza is taken aback by the weird voices coming out of the woman's mouth, but she lets others handle that situation.

She's uncomfortable with all these new people, but she's not about to stand out in the rain, so she finds a corner to sit in cross-legged and sharpens her spear. The smell from the Zora's cooking is strange but mouth-watering nonetheless. "What are you making?" Despite her intentions, the question comes out more like a barking command that a simple inquiry.

XP 6

Hycorerox chuckled at Torillin. "Goron like caves most. For on our mountain being outside can mean you roast. While hit is not the issue at hand, its the rocks crashing down like a spiteful hand. Those are one of the many dangers of our Land. The tomb of dragon under molten land." He settles himself out side.

"I do not mind the outside. It is where I usually reside. Nature provides all that I require, and even sometimes that which I desire. Whose wounds need tending now. Treat wounds I indeed know how."

Settling himself calmly outside in a nice solid spot. He folded his legs up and sat there looking at all of them and inside.

"Ancestors are tricky to calm. While fixing what angers them is a balm, sometimes fighting comes along. Some ancestors you have to beat back where they belong. For their anger is so great. It makes them forget to think Straight."

Female Human Oracle 1

"Are you going to do that every time you speak?" Anya looked at the limerick lover confused.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
XP 6

"Do what every time I speak? Oh, are you mayhap talking about my rhyming streak? If so then yes indeed. It is something in a way I need. Rhyming has a power all its own. Just as does every stone."

Smiles at her as he places his hands on his knees.

"It brings smiles and it brings frowns, for some it makes them think upside down. For rhyming is always hard to maintain. For me it is a way to sustain. I was told I couldn't keep it up, ever since I was the size of a pup."

His hand comes out showing how small he was.

"So a challenge I did perceive, and if you would believe. To this day I have kept this going, and the words have always kept flowing. With in them I try to bring kindness and wisdom. To help maintain the balance of the Kingdom."

Looking around at everyone. "But Rhyming words are now not enough. We have all got to show our stuff. We all bring something to the table, so now that things are stable. We should all discuss what we can do. So we can make plans for the long view."

Female Human Oracle 1

"So you devoted your entire vocabulary to rhyming because someone in your past told you that you couldn't?"

XP 6

He nodded. "The exercise taught me something valuable. That nothing is unattainable. Nothing is Impossible, only improbable. All it takes is dedication and the willingness to keep trying. Though if I said it was easy I would by lying." Smiling widely at her.

Female Human Oracle 1

"If you've already learned the lesson why continue to do it?"

XP 6

"Because it is now something I find to my liking. As much as going hiking. If you found something you like accomplishing, would you not keep on pushing?"

Smiles at her and would pat his stomach in a way that made a nice drum like beat. "Rhyming is now part of my rhythm. I use it to impart wisdom."

Female Human Oracle 1

"Right. Well good luck with that." Anya moved on to the next person of her "team" Riza. "What about you, any singing I should know about?"

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

I'll give you guys space to RP until at least two of you state taht you're ready to rest and move on. Then we'll get going again; I don't want to push you. Also, sorry for being late with sunday's update; I was super laaaazy that day. :)

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza snorts at the thought. "Not unless war chants count." They had singing at the Gerudo fortress. Real singing, not just war chants and work songs. Some of the women were incredibly gifted soloists, but Riza was never one of them. Some part of her had always admired their talent, especially as their melodies carried across the battlefield, but shw was practically tone-deaf herself. "You'd better not try starting one of those campfire choruses!"

I lost my dot somehow; game didn't show as updated. Sorry about the delay.

Female Human Oracle 1

"Not quite what I ment but we'll see when you start I guess."

Ready when others are I can keep posting small talk if thats what people want or we can raid

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza had grown up learning how to be silent. While the Gerudo could be chatty, there were always plenty of times when, despite the dozen of women in the complex, it was practically silent. But she didn't know how to deal with the silence among this group of strangers. Every instant there wasn't somebody talking or grunting to fill the void of noise, Riza would grunt or mumble.

As the Zora cooks dinner, Riza flounders about trying to find something to talk about to keep the conversation going. Posing the question to Anya, she asks, "So what about you. Why are you here?"

Let's see if we can't drum up some small talk to keep the game from dying completely here.

Female Human Oracle 1

Anya shrugged."Put simply, freedom. I used to travel all over Hyrule but places started changing, freedom is become more and more rare. I've got to make sure that doesn't keep happening or die trying, either I'll be better off."

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza nods along approvingly as Anya tells her short story. For all the makeup and fancy hair, there was fire in her core. She looked forward to seeing what Anya could do with that sword at her hip. And it sounded like Ganondorf was going to give her that chance, sooner rather than later.

Turning to get a better look at the walking boulder, she says, "What about you, rocks-for-rhymes? What brings you down off the mountain?"

Hycorerox, looks like I missed the opportunity to respond to you earlier. Sorry about that.

XP 6

Hycorerox smiled widely as his hand thumped on his stomach and his feet lifted and stomped softly. With the pitter patter of the rain, the beat sounded like a heart beat.

"The mountain quakes, the Dragon wakes. The world is crying out for more light. It is quit the sight. I wish to see our land bright and green. Something rately now seen. You can understand for even in the desert sands, the beauty of the land is a fading band."

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza wasn't a fan of the rhymes before, but even less so now. Something about his tone as he talks about the desert strikes a chord with her, something desperately sad. He was right about the desert; it had always had its own beauty and was teeming with life and natural wonders if you knew where to look, but lately that had all been changing. The sun, which had always been hot in a half-friendly, half-challenging sort of way had become brutal, and the desert wind which had always been motherly in her cooling breeze now scoured with sand. The wildlife was becoming more hostile as well, and leever colonies were beginning to grow out of control. It had been this shift, along with the shift in the spiritual health of the Gerudo, that had finally forced Riza to admit that Nabooru was right about Ganondorf. She knew she had to stop him, or she might never really get her home back again.

Riza doesn't handle her emotions well, and she lashes out defensively at the goron. "Oh yeah?! What does a talking boulder know about the desert? I've got your 'fading band' right here, pal!" One hand goes to the shaft of her spear as she raises the other fist threateningly.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Muse swirls around Riza unhappily as she raises her voice, making several chirping noises. It's not as though Muse could do much, given her size, but she reacts nearly instantly to the harsh, angry tone. She doesn't even seem to perceive the spear as a threat as she sticks close to Riza's face, repeating the same sounds excitedly.

XP 6

Seeing the anger twist her features and her demeanor change, Hycorerox merely shifted his hands. Anger met with anger never ended well.

"Death mountain receives the winds from all around. You merely must know how to listen to the sound. Within it you can hear the desert anger, the howling winds and growing dangers. Before the wind would speak of tenacity and strength, needed to survive in it for any length. An open challenge to all who would hear. 'If unprepared there will be danger for all who come near. If you prepare yourself to inherit, the strength of arms and spirit. Then come test my sands, or forever live in you lands.' I may not have traveled them yet. But my path has already been set. I know the desert is wise and strong. After all it sent its strongest daughter here to travel along. "

Riza was enough of a fighter to know the Goron had shifted his arms in a more defensive stance but his eyes looked directly at her. Calm, without anger, his old face waiting for her to chose to strike or not.

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Riza shakes her head as Muse flutters around her, fighting to suppress the urge to swat the fairy like one would a buzzing fly.

There was magic in the goron's voice, to be sure. This time, the rhyme seems to have a soothing effect, even if Riza doesn't seem ready to let her anger go. The fight dies in her eyes, which drift down to glare dully at the flickering cook fire. Absentmindedly, she uncrosses her legs and pulls them up to her chest. One way or another, she has been pacified. For the moment.

Female Human Oracle 1

Anya didn't make any movement to stop Riza and even considered letting them go at for a moment but decided against it in. "The more you get pissed off the louder she'll get, try not to kill each other until after all this blows over."

XP 6

Hycorerox looked at Anya. "No blood was shed. No one is dead. Let us get some much needed rest. Tomorrow the shadows will put us to the test. I can offer healing to those that are injured. So everyone is healthy when dawn Occurs."

He would look at them and nods settling in the rain not seeming bothered by the fact he couldn't fit inside to stay dry.

Female Human Oracle 1

"Yea and lets hope it stays that way, we should get moving again when we can."

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Sorry for the delay!
After making camp, eating, and discussing, it becomes apparent that Torilin and Remia don't really intend to stick around for long; the graveyard had been a harrowing experience for Torilin, and Remia just seems exceedingly paranoid outside of her forest.

Torilin reverently hands over the map and compass, before opting to head back for his homelands, while Remia is simply gone by the time the anger-filled spat is over.

Go ahead and each gain 2 more XP, as a Leaver bonus.

The food was good, if lacking in spice (Shyrin's home isn't ideal for supporting others or housing guests, being the outsider she is, and being unable to enjoy food.), and the party has a general gauge of how the others will interact now. Please create bonds and let me know what they are! They do not need to be generic like the base traits: 'I feel X, so I will Y' is a good way to do things.

Several hours have passed since you sat and began to discuss, talk, and share your tales. What do you Do?

Female Kokiri Ranger 1

Soooo..... I'd like to apologize for my absence this Summer and in general on this game, my life took a slightly weird turn this July and I couldn't touch the paizo forums much at all for the whole month. So now hopefully I'm back to normality and I ask if I could rejoin? This is a game that I've really enjoyed so far and I'd love to get back into it, again sorry.

Assuming Remia doesn't leave this is what she does:

Remia, who still kept quiet through the graveyard, unnerved at this new place and all it's new people sat, absent-mindedly stroking Shadow's neck looked across to Anya, "So, you're a singer," she said, slightly nervously, "Tell me, do you know this tune?" Remia began to hum (slightly out of tune, Remia's not the most musical type) the song taught to her by Saria, Saria's song, in the hopes that someone might know of Saria and her whereabouts.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Sure. I'm currently at a hospital, so not doing much with pbp right now. Sorry! Welcome back. I'll go with an int check for the song; ill let you know the other roots you know it from if you succeed.

Female Human Oracle 1

Int: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 2) + 1 = 8

"Not big on singing myself the fairy is just forceful about it."

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

It is said that there is a scarecrow that 'lives' along the outskirts of Lake Hylia. When the wind blows just right, one can hear the whisperings of ancient music coming from the creature. When a truly talented musician appears before him, it is said that he'll even come to life.

The scarecrow has learned many songs over the decades since its inception. It is said that it can teach others a song of the ways that will draw another to your presence rather than draw you to a place. It was from one such musician that Anya traveled with on her way into Castle Town that she heard not only this story, but a song quite similar to the one Remia had just shared.

While Anya isn't a musician herself, she can still feel verdancy and wisdom hidden deep within the song.

XP 6

Hycorerox would sit there rocking slightly after the night has passed before gathering himself up and standing in the mud. His body sank slightly in the softer soil but he didn't seem to mind as he looked at the others.

Listening to the song he would sway slightly.

Bonds

Riza of the Garudo is filled with passion and anger, I will help guide her so she is not controlled by anger and can see the world with passion I sense deep inside.

Anya is not one who sings and its a shame, but I will teach her what I know of the earth since knowledge may be her strength.

Remia is small and delicate, but full of life and exuberance. I will protect the little one.

All I could think of.

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

Thanks!

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

I'm still struggling a little with the bonds. Will post them when I get them figured out.

The next morning, Riza gets down to business as soon as she can. "When you're through with the music talk, does anybody want to fill me in on just what the plan is, here?"

Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

It's fine. It can definitely be a struggle. One important thing is that it doesn't have to be true. It only has to be something your character believes. The fact that it's about perception might help a lot. :)

Female Human Oracle 1

"If we can get through the barricade we can keep exploring, if not we move on to the next area we get pointed to."

XP 6

Hycorerox nodded.

"Go into the domain of Shadow. Walk the paths that are below. Pass that which blocks our way together. Help and support one another. Find that which will help us on our journey. Within it may be a useful item or key."

Wiggling his toes in the mud he would lift his head breathing in the fresh morning hair. "It is a beautiful day. Shall we make our way?"

Female Human (Gerudo) Fighter 1; 4 XP

Shouldering her spear, Riza nods. "Ready when you are, Rocky - er, Hycorerox. Remia, Anya?"

Female Kokiri Ranger 1

Remia awoakes, feeling refreshed, having slept contemplating what Anya had said about Saria's song. She picks up her quiver and bow and whistles for Shadow and Yami, turning to her strange group of new companions, "We are ready."

Bonds I could think of:

Hycorerox is an odd fellow but he's friendly and seems to care for nature, I shall try and teach him about my forest homeland.

Anya has traveled many places, I will learn from her of the world outside the woods.

Riza is often quite frightening but I feel a certain kinship with her also being an outsider in a strange land.
