The Hellhound cocks its head to the side at Armon's command, but doesn't move away.

The Dottari cast glances at the significantly larger than expected beast, but go on about their business... with the majority of the crowd (other than those they intended to arrest) gone, they refocused their attention on the people that were still there, and causing problems.

Each of the Dottari take the time to change from their melee weapons, dropping their heavy maces and shields to the ground, to their ranged weapons, pulling out longbows, as they stay out of the way of the fire-breathing dogs. The singular guard who already had his bow drawn and an arrow nocked, finally stops waiting for whatever he was waiting for, and looses an arrow towards Victor. The arrow slips past his guard and stabs into his calf doing more damage than the hound had managed.

All of the guards have swapped to ranged weapons. The one who had already changed weapons shoots Victor for 5, grazing him.

With the crowd safely fleeing the square, Victor snaps half the arrow off to keep it from impeding his movement and falls back to the rest of the group with Brutus right at his side. "I suggest we leave now, before we're surrounded entirely. We're no long in a position to keep fighting like this."

Mve Act: Fall back to the group. Will spend the full round to retreat with everyone else as soon as they go.

Double move to southwest off map. I imagine Misha knows somewhere to go, either to meet Kenzer or perhaps a place to hide in the docks district that's not in use.

Juniper gives a sharp hand gesture which causes her hell hound to take a charging stance at the woman holding the chain, while the dog is taking his position Juniper backs away from the fight with the others.

Turns out I'd chosen Macedonian, though Serbian also uses the same word for attack!

Nox narrows her eyes, seeing that several of the people are retreating. She doesn't seem worried about them as they seem to be backing away, instead, she focuses her attention on the real threat.

"Брани." she says, and yanks her chain to the right, causing the hellhound to yip, then growl, casting his gaze towards Nox, then turning back towards the significantly larger hound, and placing himself between the two. "Да се повлече." she adds, staring down the significantly larger hellhound, even as she takes a step towards it, and the hellhound clears the space between the two. But when it doesn't respond to her command, she calls out, "Archers, fire on the hound. Напад." As she does so, the hound moves forward with its muzzle, and tries to rip into the much larger dog... but comes away with nothing but air. Nox draws a silver throwing axe as she crosses the space between.

Infernal:
'Defend', followed by 'Stand Down.' followed by 'Attack' once more.

The hound narrows its eyes, and pulls back it's lips, while raising its hackles, an obvious threat display towards the much larger hound that had somehow managed to just barely evade its grasp.

The remaining Chelish Citizens flee the scene... at least those that can.

Dog bites, hits, but misses! And is very certain that the other dog cheated somehow. :p

Fortunately, the giant hellhound is a more appealing target than Armon is. It is only when the noble noticing the woman near him gesturing that he catches on to what was really going on. With the beast and its master apparently distracted, he runs off, following the others.

Everyone has escaped except for Victor (who is waiting on Juniper) and Juniper. It's both of your turns, though carrying out the other half of Victor's 'readied' gets him out, once the conditional is complete. :p

I just reread the rules, and while I fudged a bit in favor of the arrows flying through it not being 'proof' and instead, allowing a will save, one still passed. He communicated what he saw to the others, giving them a +4 bonus on their rolls.

With the last of the others having gotten clear, Victor sees no reason to stick around. With a signal whistle to Brutus, he turns and retreats in the manner that looks the least like running with his tail between his legs with his hound at his side.

Sorry for the delay, I didn't have time to set up an entire map this morning, and definitely couldn't from work. I haven't really had any time today at all for anything. :| But! Ready to go, kind of. Given that it's a holiday, I'm going to be sort of lax on making you guys keep up with the 'must post!' schedule. :)

As everyone maneuvers through town, heading towards their own boltholes, they pass by both limestone and red-clay brick homes, having opted to move away from the more ritzy Jarvis district (which is much more heavily guarded) and patrolled. As adrenaline begins to wane, one would hardly be able to tell there was just nearly a riot only a few minutes prior.

Slowed down by Sanita, Scath moves forward confidently through the streets along with the crowds, which have slowly dispersed to their own hiding places, of sorts. The pair weren't particularly far ahead of the rest of the group, either. So it's no surprise that as Scath and Sanita come upon the disturbance, the folks that fought with the Chelish Citizens Group are in tow.

Scath:
You can also smell blood in the air from up ahead.

Scath is obviously the first to notice, but Misha also overhears the commotion. The clash of steel on steel from somewhere nearby... just up ahead and around the corner. Then another ring, followed by a pained cry.

Scath stops Sanita, then noses her towards an alley way, and nods his head toward the roofs. He pushes her along, then makes sure she climbs up to the roofs, and then follows up. From there, he noses her away, letting her know to take off on the rooftops and get out of the area for good.

He then moves closer to the noises of fighting and blood, on the rooftop.

Victor brings up the rear, just barely hearing the sound of cries and the crash of steel. "Has the conflict spread through the whole city?" He sees the strange cat leap up onto the building, but he isn't exactly able to follow. Besides, he's never really been much of a cat person. He whistles softly and he and Brutus run off toward the sound. There must be something else going on.

Sorry for the lack of response, Turkey Day hit a little harder than usual this year. :P

Armon hesitates... but only briefly. After what had happened at the opera house, finding somewhere to hide seemed like the wisest course of action. However, it simply wasn't in his nature to ignore a plea for help, even if it was unspoken.


Inspire Courage (+1 Hit/Damage and Will v. Charm and Fear)

For those who said they moved but didn't move their tokens, I went with double moves. Scath's movement to the top of the building and across it is only a single move, but it also places him directly overhead.

As Tobias comes around the corner, Scath slips over the top of the building, and Misha reaches the corner and peeks around, the Chelish Thugs come into view... there are several unconscious people on the ground dressed in the reds and blacks of their particular faction; all not bleeding out. But there are also several still standing. In the center of several of them is the body of a young man, dressed in noble finery, with a sword cane lying beside him. There's no blood on any of the downed people aside from the man, but there's still blood across the ground. It's clear he was backed into the corner by the trail.

The Thugs seem ready to put the young man out of his misery, judging by the fact that they're in the midst of raising their weapons. The blue citizen sees Misha and Victor around the corner, peeking, and waves his light mace at them, "You just keep out of this, it's nothing to do with you. Move along!" But Misha's eyes linger on the still form, spotting a single black glove on one hand, peeking out from amongst the small crowd of thugs.

Misha's hair flails wildly about as she looks at the scene before her, reflecting the anger building up inside of her. "Stay out of your hair while you murder innocents? Why don't you fight someone who is actually up instead of kicking someone when they're down? Or are you all to cowardly to try to handle someone who can take you on," she says, incensed. She puts her hand on her hilt and glares at the lot, daring them to come at her.

Unless you back alley thugs think you're a match for a group of trained warriors." He calmly falls into a fighting stance as Brutus takes a step forward, snarling and bearing his teeth.

The thug in the alleyway before Misha and Victor, narrows his eyes as Misha goads him on, and starts to slap his mace into his other hand, clearly about to make a threat of his own. He doesn't even hear the light thump of Scath behind him, but then Victor makes his threat and... he complies, dropping his weapon. Just in time for Scath to snarl, and pull his attention back to the body behind him. Once Scath announces his presence, and buzz-saws his threat, everything turns to chaos.

Well that went as well as could be expected. Armon did not have to see what was going on to know that things were about to get messy again. Home would have to wait a little longer. The noble reaches for his belt and pulls out his healing wand, in case any of his unlikely allies got themselves hurt.

"The time to act is now," he intones calmly, though his words somehow carry power, filling everyone with righteous purpose, "There are innocent lives at stake."

Starting sermonic performance.

Armon begins his performance, inspiring courage within his allies, just as everything shifts. Unperturbed by the cat (they were three strong after all), the Chelish Thugs choose to rain down blows upon the feline, but only one doesn't land resoundingly upon his armor, and strikes flesh, though his attack is still blunted by catching the edge of Scath's armor. One thug moves forward, past his companion and takes an ultimately futile swipe at the unarmed Misha, and yells at the other thug, "Stop being stupid, John, pick up your weapon, and fight. We'll get even more credit if we bring in these troublemakers, too." The Thug responds by shakily reaching down to the ground to pick up his weapon, and holding it in a position to strike anyone who approaches him.

Victor sighs. "I did warn you." He whistles and points at the thug that attempted to attack Misha. "Brutus, attack!" His hound leaps forward, lunging at the thug with his teeth. Victor calmly shifts behind his hound and stabs out with his bardiche, attempting to cut the man down quickly. Brutus is as effective as ever, his teeth tearing into the man and leaving a somewhat shallow bite mark, but Victor misses by a mile, not even getting close to striking his target.

Tobias grunts as he hears the others enter the clash of battle, and he feels some... feeling come over him as the foppish Armon begins to speak. He growls. He doesn't like that sort of power being held over him.

But he doesn't like thugs who bully people even more, so he hums a little battle hum, stepping forward as he appraises one of the thugs. He feels Ragathiel's divine blessing overtaking him, filling him with a righteous fervor and strength.

Free action - 5ft. step. Move action - Study the red thug. Standard action - cast divine favor.

"Hey!" he calls out at one of the thugs standing over the unconscious man. "Come over here and fight me! You'll lose and it'll hurt!"

I don't intend to use natural 1's as botches, only as automatic failures.

The dog biting the Thug is anything but a shallow bite. What would be a shallow bite is made much worse by the man trying to tear himself away, causing blood to pour from the wound. Green is now wounded.

At nearly the same time, Scath lashes out, and tears into the man twice with his claws, leaving him bleeding out on the pavement. That also means your bite hits if you choose to hit him while he's down.

Misha focuses again as she did outside the opera house, and the air seems to tingle with electricity. She unsheathes her blade, revealing the broken hilt and channels the charge up it, reforming the lightning blade before her. Caught between a rock and a claw place, the one thug opts to try to fight his way to freedom... and ultimately fails spectacularly, which prompts the other thug to give it a shot... but both of them don't even get near Scath. Through the combined effort of fear, derision, and magical impulse, the final Thug, thoroughly cowed, flees through the streets at full speed, leaving his friend to die. "Dammit, John!" yells the Thug trapped in the alleyway, as the other thug shifts slightly around Scath, while the man bleeds out beside him.

Misha charges forward towards the next thug, this time channeling energy recklessly as she does, a grimace on her face as arcs of electricity run down her arms barely controlled. She forces the built up charge into her hilt and swings at the man, trying to plunge the crackling blade into his back.

"This could have gone better," Victor mutters. He points at the nearest thug and whistles again. Brutus snarls and charges the man, leaping forward and attempting to take a chunk out of the man's flesh. Victor rushes behind his hound, thrust his polearm at the man's chest.

Scath's twin claws put the already-grazed target on the ground, and then his bite (should he choose to use it) leaves the final Thug on the ground. If not, one of the others certainly does... and their strikes are significantly more permanent. (I'll leave it to you guys what you do with the downed folks. You can also pull your punches if you decide not to simply kill them. :))

As the dust begins to settle and things calm down, most of you get your first real look at the young man on the ground. His clothing shows him as a noble, though the dress is oddly lacking in accoutrements, as if he'd remembered to take off all of his jewelry, but had forgotten to swap to a lower caste of clothing. He has dusky skin and angular features, kept in check by the crops of dark hair. His hair is slightly mussed from the combat, but his beard is well-trimmed and obviously well-kept. Beside him is a sword cane, the other half of the cane having been left in the alleyway as he moved away. Oddly, the hand nearest the cane is wearing a black glove, while the other is not.

While many would likely call him handsome, he's also rail-thin, speaking to an obvious vulnerability. He appears to be unconscious as a result of nonlethal damage, but was also assailed with an ordinary mace strike.

K(Local) DC 12 (Use the same roll):
Obviously a noble, given his meticulous appearance and choice in clothing, the young man has the angular features and skin of a Victocora, a minor noble family. One whose home was burned to the ground during the Night of Ashes.

K(Local) DC 17 (Use the same roll):
The young man is Rexus Victocora, who was sole heir to the house. Despite this, his life was not particularly pampered, and by choice. He's well known in many social circles; he's worked to help out urchins and is known to attend the Songbird Hall, the temple of Shelyn. In addition, if the Victocora's home burned down on the Night of Ashes, there's a reasonable chance that the house was suspected of rebellious activity.

Scath has no reason to kill them yet, so once they are down, he stops attacking. He would even growl and move between them and anyone trying to kill them once they are down.

Scath looks quizzically at the downed fop, and lets out an annoyed sounding growl. He lifts one leg and pees on the fop's face to wake him up, given he's only been knocked senseless.

The young man sputters and coughs, and blearily awakes. I'm treating him as staggered with the 'standard action knocks him back unconscious' thing... but no risk of bleeding out. The rules are really fuzzy here.

He retches when he catches the ammonia scent in the air, and staggers backwards slightly as the cat - and then the bleeding bodies surrounding him - come into view, though he only really manages to back himself into the building behind him.

Is Misha still dressed in rags, or back to her normal outfit?

Victor hesitates a moment as he brings down his target, redirecting his thrust and leaving the thug injured and unconscious, but still breathing. It seems pointless to simply slaughter the thugs, even if they are attacking people. They're defeated and harmless now. "Brutus, heel." He taps his thigh and calls his hound back to him.

He leans over the young man as that utterly odd cat as it... well that's just unnecessary. Still, at least it accomplishes its goal of waking the young man. The man's clothes... and his appearance... "You look familiar," Victor comments as he offers the man a hand to help him stand. "Victocora right? Rexus Victocora. Can you stand?"

Misha grins as the last of the thugs goes down. Seeing no one else taking the initiative, she walks to them and places her hand on them before discharging a current through them to finish them off. "No sense letting them report what happened," she says matter-of-factly. "Plus they'll be looking to take this out on some poor innocent or another after being beaten down," she adds as additional justification.

She's finishing off all the thugs that are unconscious unless someone actively stops Misha.

Misha kneels down to help Rexus up as well. "Kenzer told me I was supposed to meet someone, but he didn't mention it was you. It's a good thing we heard the ruckus!" she says to him. "We should get you somewhere safe," she adds.
