This is a short Horror adventure where a group of four or five adventurers must explore the manor of the late Lord Hosmer, and unravel its secrets.
Homebrew game, Roleplay heavy, I want characters to be frightened, scared, panicked...
It is indeed a fear effect, and the wolf is fifty five feet away, down the corridor and into the pitch black room beyond. You would be able to get it with a charge.

Sorry guys, but I hope it's clear I'm not actually angry. I just figured that would be how a prideful character would respond to someone mentioning something obvious as a 'how didn't you notice' sort of comment. Please don't brain Aerrodin with an axe and/or otherwise mutilate him.

Just want to clarify: two exits to the west, one of which the wolf came down, smashed the door, and then ran back. There's an exit to the east as well, along with a bookshelf, right? Also, do the stairs lead upwards to a balcony in the room, or just up and into the wall to another room?
To clarify, there are two Doors on the west wall, and one door to the east. The stairs ascend up to a balcony/landing area, but you can't tell much more than that.
The wolf came through one of the two hallways that are about ten feet north of the western door and the eastern bookcase.
I hope this makes the mental map much clearer
Also Elijah, the wolf ran back the same way it came from /western hallway/
Very close to what I had in mind, the corridors need to be turned 90 degrees, but then that is very close.
Edit
The doors should have 5 ft between them, and the northern west door should mirror the bookcase, and the southern west and southern east doors should be across from each other too.

Okay, so the wolf burst from the northwestern door, and then ran back that way, right?
As for the flies we fought earlier, they came from the open north-eastern passage, right? So the only door that's been opened is the one the wolf burst through?
I was thinking: could you provide us two descriptions of the rooms we enter? One with full flavor, and the other giving us the basic specs, such as behind a spoiler?
specs:
The room is dimly lit, 30ft. x 30ft., with 7 egresses, starting from the south entrance, going clockwise: the entrance, a single oak door on the west wall ten feet from the south wall, a double oak door 10 ft. past that, then an open passage, 10ft. wide, leading westward in the northwest corner, followed by a 20ft. stairwell northward leading to a balcony in darkness, then a 10 ft. wide open passage way on the northern east wall, leading eastwards, followed by a final oak door on the eastern wall mirroring the second egress. There are no wall sconces, but there is a rusted unlit iron chandelier. The wind from outside makes it difficult to hear. Wooden floor, unfinished, grey slatted wooden walls. There is a broken mirror near the bookshelf, which is across from the third door. There are also five or six tables, some with drawers, laying about the room. A red carpet extends from the front door up the stairs, which appear stable but in poor repair.
I know it's a lot, but I feel it's what we needed coming in, in addition to the dread and foreboding.

OH! Okay, now things make sense! Thank you!
Yeah, sorry for being so demanding. I'm just use to dealing with relatively concrete maps, so I like having the special relations of the room.
On another note: am I posting too much? I'm worried because I feel like I've had a lot of dialogue recently, and I just want to make sure I'm not stealing anyone else's thunder. I don't have a firm grasp of what's okay on here and what's not... am I doing alright as a whole?
Elijah, fill in the spaces between the hallways and the stairs and it will look perfect (moving the desks to either side of the stairs, and keeping the stairs where they are at now)

Sorry to let you down, but I have to quit this game. I have been enjoying playing with all of you - but my real life has become busy to a point where I just don't have time to play a PBP anymore.

Hiya people, sorry to be posting so quickly, but Kvina is moving out of the wings to take the stage... I'm sorry it had to happen so soon, much less at all. I look forward to playing with you though!

I've got one this Friday, then spring break... I'll still be posting, but it will probably be only once a day, probably mid-afternoon, as I won't have internet where I'm going, so I'll have to go out to post.

I doubt Elijah would have finished his watch. The reason we were attacked was because I was getting out of my armor at the end of my watch, so at best he had been up for 10 minutes.
