Hosmer Manor
Game Master
Death_Keeper
This is a short Horror adventure where a group of four or five adventurers must explore the manor of the late Lord Hosmer, and unravel its secrets.
Homebrew game, Roleplay heavy, I want characters to be frightened, scared, panicked...

Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
About my bonus feat you offered...
1. Would this be a swift action, immediate action, or standard action for my feat?
2. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but would you be game for me taking toughness instead? I've already got 7 uses of channel energy... which means even if I do have to blast a few undead, that's 3 or 4d6 points of healing before I even tap into my spontaneous casting and I've got the stabilize spell prepared. And I haven't even bought my scrolls yet. I'm more worried about being one-shotted (meaning losing most healing options for the party) than running low on healing options.
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Aerrodin, I didn't offer the feat. You have it. Word of God...
nyah-nyah :P
These feats are just freebies from me. Only classes are restricted.
feats, spells and other things are free game from anywhere first party or available on SRD
Your character has low constitution, so it does not fit your character's backstory/feel thats why I didn't choose Toughness for you.
I am giving you this ability as an immediate reaction that you choose when it activates.
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
Alright, sounds more than fair, thank you.

Elijah. Please edit your dice roll to read [ooc}per[/ooc]{dice]1d20+8[/dice]
Also, please play from the first person perspective if you can...
Male Human Bard 1, Ini +7, HP 11, AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4
Did those villagers ever tell my why they wouldn't go near the house, when they refused to bring me there?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
The villagers give a myriad of reasons of reasons why they wouldn't dare to go to that place.
it is cursed
it is evil
the dead rise there
going there angers the gods
going there is terribly, terribly bad luck.
Lord Hosmer didn't die, he simply waits, ready to take the souls of the fools...
They just tell you various stories which they believe, but you are not so sure about...
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Players, please wait for the other party members, I have a big post for the whole party
:D
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Nice. I've been waiting for the first spell.
Orpheus, create an incantation and hand movements. I want magic be interesting, and special.
Male Human Bard 1, Ini +7, HP 11, AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4
Better?
Why do I get this dreadful feeling when you comment my casting of a harmless spell like dancing lights with "Nice. I've been waiting for the first spell"?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Dread is good... Dread is very good.
also PM
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Vinnick, please delete your post, we are waiting on the others before advancing.
EDIT
Thank you very much
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Perfect, the group is together...ish... Resume play :D
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
Got an exam, will be back in about two-and-a-half hours. Also, I've seen in other groups where basic info. like AC, HP, speed, saves, attacks, and active effects were listed under the name of each player on each post. How is that done, and should we do it too?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
You list them in your class section of your character profile.
wizard HP: 36/36| AC: 13 T:13 FF:10|CMD:14 Fort: +4 Ref:+6 Will+6| Init: +7 Perception:+5 Lowlight, darkvision
did Vinnick find any preserved books from the bookshelf?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Sorry, I missed that part of the post, I'll reply
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Sorry Elijah, but there is not a lock on the drawer, just a key to something else and a jammed drawer
Grushdeva du kalt misht
I could simply roll everyone's initiative all at once at the same time I roll the enemies' initiative, Save time and posting space.
I'll leave the vote on that up to you guys.
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Okay, I'll do that for you next time... but you must keep the 5 you rolled this time... :P
wizard HP: 36/36| AC: 13 T:13 FF:10|CMD:14 Fort: +4 Ref:+6 Will+6| Init: +7 Perception:+5 Lowlight, darkvision
question, are these insects in the room I just opened, or behind me in the hallway? Its quite important :3
Grushdeva du kalt misht
They came flying out of the hallway. The door you opened is in the main room, next to the hallway (ten to twelve feet)
Init +2; HP 13/13; AC 17; T13; FF14; Fort +4; Ref+2; Will+0; Per+0
Considering I rolled a one you are more than welcome to roll initiative for me next time lol
Grushdeva du kalt misht
So far we have:
Vinnick: 17

Grushdeva du kalt misht
Party on a 1d6 chart.

Aerrodin= 3
Thia= 4

Reroll= 6
Edit
Sorry Orpheus, I wanted to get this show rolling faster, but it looks like you are up next :D sorry I only hit a 15 for you.
Male Human Bard 1, Ini +7, HP 11, AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4
Don't worry. Looking at my own luck with the dice it was probably for the better anyway.
Could you also roll knowledge checks for us to identify monsters in the future (together with rolling initiative)? This round it didn't matter, but if I had rolled a high result, I would have liked to know what I know before declaring my action.
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Ah, okay, I definitely will...
on the upside, you just shot the wizard, so you have that going for you.
Male Human Bard 1, Ini +7, HP 11, AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4
Oh, crap.
I totally mixed up the bugs, too.
I intended to shoot at one of the two that wasn't in melee yet.
Two critical fumbles in a row (one with the dice, one reading the initiative order).
Sorry, Vinnick!
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Yeah I looked at that like... five times... trying to decide if you were actually firing into melee, and then to see if you had the feat for doing so... then I went with it... stressful moment, you were caught off guard, and you shot at the one closest to you... you know... before you got one up close and personal.
Great start.
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Ummm... Rorek? You got shot underneath your left collarbone not in the throat... just clarifying, also you are at one HP, so you aren't /quite/ dead yet.
in other news... what is that roll for?
wizard HP: 36/36| AC: 13 T:13 FF:10|CMD:14 Fort: +4 Ref:+6 Will+6| Init: +7 Perception:+5 Lowlight, darkvision
I know, also, lets hope this bug things I am dead... and possibly others as well :P

rorek55 wrote: I know, also, lets hope this bug things I am dead... and possibly others as well :P We can hope. Right now, It is resting on Elijah's shoulders.
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
Because the cleric is lame and can do nothing. :P
By the way, I was hoping you could tell me who I could reach with a single move of twenty feet (I've no idea how big this room is). Also, can you say what size category the insects are in (Fine, Diminutive?) Finally, am I going to be able to perform touch spells on the characters without being subject to attacks of opportunity?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
You were searching for weak spots, So you were moving around...
I would say yes, you would be within twenty feet, it is a large room, but not That large, so you can reach the insects. Size category Tiny)
You could use a touch spell without provoking. Touch spells make you count as 'armed'
Init +2; HP 13/13; AC 17; T13; FF14; Fort +4; Ref+2; Will+0; Per+0
I already love this campaign
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Thank you, That actually means quite a lot. I'm glad to hear it.
Init +2; HP 13/13; AC 17; T13; FF14; Fort +4; Ref+2; Will+0; Per+0
Ah shoot, is my axe stuck in the floor now?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
No you didn't critically fail... You just cut a little chunk out of the floor...
Relatively small anyway. You did swing a battle-axe with a power attack
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Vinnick, it is your turn to post and we are waiting for you....
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
So one down, one injured, and the one attacking Thia still uninjured, with Orpheus up, right?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
That is the gist of it.
One in orange-yellow clumps of goop, one is cracked and pissed and one is trying to give Thia a piercing.
Its a good combat so far I think
Male Human Bard 1, Ini +7, HP 11, AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4
Sorry to keep you waiting.
The one that is wounded isn't in melee right now?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
The one that is wounded is currently attacking you....
Grushdeva du kalt misht
Combat is over, and everyone survived.
That makes for 100 XP apiece
Male Human Cleric 1(Fire,Good)
Vinnick said wrote: Then look to the kind girl that healed me. Should meta-me be insulted?
Grushdeva du kalt misht
I saw the mistake, but I didn't want to say anything, maybe you look feminine when coated in rain and mud? it should make for an interesting situation.
EDIT,
Aerrodin, Removing the arrow requires a heal check in order to remove it without further damage
wizard HP: 36/36| AC: 13 T:13 FF:10|CMD:14 Fort: +4 Ref:+6 Will+6| Init: +7 Perception:+5 Lowlight, darkvision
It was purposeful, vinnick isn't excatly seeing/thinking 100% clear ATM after all. :p
Init +2; HP 13/13; AC 17; T13; FF14; Fort +4; Ref+2; Will+0; Per+0
To be fair he's lost a lot of blood!
Grushdeva du kalt misht
true, and Thia, the insects came from the hall. The door Vinnick tried to open is in the room. The scraping just attracted the bugs, not released them
