Bulgard draws his greatsword and clears his mind, drawing on years of experience as a ranger to visualize his enemy's weaknesses. With a ranger's focus, he notices that this creature favors it's left tentacles, so he brings his blade to bear at the creatures right flank.

After the last pitiful whiff, Bulgard retains his immense focus and, encouraged by Zhevons words, swings the greatsword witha two handed grip in a high overhead chop.

The yellow darkmantle instinctively moves away from Bulgard. Not from fear, but from his odor. 5ft step It attacks Reinar.

I just realized that Reinar is prone after his near death experience. One hit point and prone in front of your enemy who can deal substantial damage. Well, don't worry too much about that horrible predicament. Igar does not kill PCs, his PCs kill themselves. You have done nothing utterly stupid or reckless. The mantle has an int of 2 and is neutral. There are many more things it can do as opposed to trying to kill you. Perhaps your party can alleviate you of this threat.

Reinar wakes up confused, feeling his own hot blood on the floor beneath him. He peeks upward at the darkmantle and decides to stay on the defensive, at least for now.

He sneaks along the northern wall, moved to the west and rear of the foe and strikes at it from behind, hoping to flank the fell beast.

The first thing you notice about the door to the watchtower is that the door is jammed. DC13 to open.

Atop the 30 foot tall tower is an open trapdoor that leads into the interior. Thick webs cover much of the ancient crates and barrels stored inside the base of the tower. A rickety wooden staircase ascends along one wall to reach an open trapdoor above. The wooden staircase leading to the roof of the tower does not look safe.

I gave Reinar that angle. If you try to attck ranged from behind him, I will rule it has soft cover (-4). I think you will need to get into that room unless you can think of something that escapes me.

Bulgard is hoping for a lucky shot, so he steps back a few feet to improve his angle, draws his bow and fires an arrow at the spider.

Zevon and Reinar hear the hum of the Hail Mary shot as it whizzes past there heads seeking it's target. The arrow buries into the arachnid. It goes limp and then remains motionless, stuck it its own web.

While the supplies in most of the crates and barrels in this room have long since rotted away, one small crate contains a masterwork shortsword wrapped in oilcloth. One crate has four torches, another has 8 lanterns filled with oil.

Zevon says "It is all about the noise your mouth makes. Need not worry about if others comprehend, it is only about loving the sound you make. That is all that matters." He takes a torch and two lanterns.
