"Anyone got something stiffer than water? I'd like to loosen up a bit before going to the party. Just a swig or two will do me some good."

Silas goes digging in his pack and with a triumphant, "Ah ha!", he pulls out a silver hip flask, which he passes around saying, "Some Dwarven fire water, this'll put hairs on your chest..."

As the party, bone weary, bruised and battered, heads north to the Ice Maze they spot a small figure hurrying to meet them. As the figure approaches it resolves itself into the familiar face of Kimi Eaveswalker!

I know you said to stay home...but momma wasn't there, so I went to Lady Cirthana, cuz I know that Mister Lucanor is fresh on her. And she asked what was happening. So I told her, and then she ran this way, so of course I had to show her the way. And then once she got here, she got all googly eyed and walked around ignoring me! So I took her bag and brought it to you.

He's all ready to fuss at the girl, but looking into the bag, he can't deny she may have just tripled their chances of getting out of this alive. "Kimi, if your mom isn't back, then see if you can head to a friend's house instead. We'll do what we can to get Lady Cirthana ungoogled and end this, but if you're here I'm going to be worried even more distracted and I don't need to be. Okay?"

So it wasn't just me thinking that.

Silas smiles slightly then looks concerned when it became clear Cirthana fell under the influence of the eye of rapture.

"The influence of the eye of rapture is baleful indeed. We must destroy it and the one who wields it, or at least try... Kimi you've done well and been very brave, but its best if you go and hide away from these nasty fae. The rest of us need to find Quinn, for we need his help."

Michael digs through his pack for a second, pulling two small vials from it. He uncorks one and quickly downs it, causing his skin to harden and take on the appearance of hickory. The other he keeps in hand, ready to drink at the first sign of real danger.

"I knew these would come in handy eventually. Glad I didn't let you guys talk me into sellin' 'em."

Drank my potion of barkskin. +2 natural AC for 30 minutes. And I've got my potion of bull's strength in hand and ready to go.

The party trudges northward with a despondent Kimi going the other direction. As you near the Ice Maze you see a battered looking Namdrin Quinn his swords bloody and his face bruised.

Well met heroes, Gradzaal did not want to see reason, he was truly corrupted. It is a great shame. he pauses a moment and then says Did you hear his challenge also? He knows that Tessa is free and his quickling is dead, he will come for me soon.

Then when Silas mentions stopping more of the fae, beginning at the Titan's Wheel.
"Sounds like an idea, if that Coldrider attacks us before perhaps the better. Else we'll surely draw him out if we keep foiling his plans."

Silas nods saying, "I suspect that's true, the fae were not without provocation. The lumber consortium have been persecuting the fae and deforesting large areas without replanting. Of course the ones that really suffer are the simple townsfolk, they can't stop the opressive consortium and they are bearing the brunt of the fae's wrath."

"I'm not sure exactly what heralded the fae taking over. Syntira it seems got cold feet and she sent a little red fox to summon us and bade us drink something that sheided us from the eye of rapture. She wants us to defeat the cold rider, albeit with a heavy heart. She told us how to free your wife and told us to find you. When we got back the fae had taken over and everything had gone to hell."

The Titans Wheel

The Titan’s Wheel has undergone a drastic change. Stripped of its once-colorful decorations, it juts like a rotten claw from a quagmire
of mud and blood. Fairgoers navigate toward it on rotten planks arranged as steppingstones to span the fetid morass. Ghoulish trophies dangle from the great metal wheel, bound by their own intestines to the rusting metal so they drag through the mud and up into the air as the wheel rotates.

You see four Dark Ice Brownies capering through the blood and death, playing with the trophies and generally being aholes. They are so distracted with their fun that they don't notice you until you get within 30' and you get a surprise round. Further info is in the map, this encounter is a little different.

Shacking his head, Silas pulls out a tanglefoot bag and with a run up, he deftly throes it at the furthest group.

Move Action: Silas plunges in and wades to I4.
Standard action: Throw tanglefoot bag at the group ay J0. That's 4 squares away and 1 range increments so this is at -2.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 - 2 = 17

Seeing Silas is helping the fellow closest to his doom, Lucanor tries to race closer to the second. He uses the wooden ramp as much as he can to do so but is slogging through a lot of messy terrain.

Both surprise and 1st round will be used to double move towards the guy on H3 going south side of the wheel and up. Not sure he'll have any actions left after even with two double moves but at least he'll be close enouogh to maybe grab the guy round 2

The people studiously ignore him and walk straight towards the caltrops Silas had spread across the path.

Round 2Lucanor isn't making as much progress as he hoped. He feels the brownie try to overwhelm his mind, and recalls Michael's earlier plight and is glad he can win out.
Sword in hand, he attacks not the fay, but the first citizen the flat of his blade.

Nonlethal penalty to hit counted in, bard bonus as well 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Only want to do 1 point of nonlethal if that can be dictated. If not, then non lethal damage on 7d is 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

After all, knocking the guy out would still save his life.

Aww man, I can't believe I'm considering attacking towns folk. Fortunately Silas is pretty rubbish at doing damage so he's unlikely to seriously hurt them. Oh and SORRY MICHAEL! ;)

Silas takes a step back and flings a vial of Alchemist's fire at the Fae to Michael's right. The vial smashes and flares into a vicious gout of flame with sparks flying in all directions. He then turns to the unfortunate people who stepped on the caltrops and snarls, "get out of here!"


Silas takes a 5' step to G3 and throws his last vial of Alchemist's fire at the fey at J1. This a ranged touch attack which also does 1pt of fire splash damage to everyone within 5 ft. DC 15 reflex save for the fae to put the flames out.

Throw alchemist's fire at the : 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
