Silas sighs slightly and mutters, "Drat. It's some sort of undead, might have known... Anyway never fear! We've faced undead before. You know the score, hack it to pieces and don't let the blighter touch you!" The last was said with utmost confidence. Of course inside Silas felt differently but sometimes he could trick even himself into believing.
Move action: Inspire courage 4/22
Standard action: Good hope! +4 to most things.

Jaxom sends bolts of energy into the incorporeal foe.
Dread Spectre flies at Silas with arms outstretched Touch: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31 Silas takes 1d8 ⇒ 2 negative energy damage and must make a DC18 Fort save or take 2 negative levels.

Hecktor moves to the square west of Silas.
If Luc moves before him, Hecktor circles around to the square 2 west from Silas.

Gilmork closes the dostance between the spectre and himself by taking a 5 foot diagonal step and fires a volley of three arrows at it.

Silas used saving finale as an immediate action to get a second saving throw. Inspire is down but the effect lingers for 2 rounds.
GM Niles |
Luc casts a particularly damaging spell at the Specter. Unfortunately without Point Blank Shot, he misses.
Silas does the hammer time and doesn't take any negative levels. But he cannot 5' step and cast a spell, because there is no place to 5' step to.
Hecktor moves up to engage the Spectre, and take an AoO to do so AoO: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 Hecktor takes 1d8 ⇒ 7 negative energy damage and Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 takes 2 negative levels. Hecktor's attack still hits, just for alot less damage due to the foe being incorporeal. (20 total because no GoodHope either)
Gilmork fires three arrows but only 1 hits for 11.
Round 2
Jaxom nukes once more dealing 18 damage.
Dread Spectre reaches out to caress Hecktor again Touch: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 Hecktor takes 1d8 ⇒ 1 and Fort: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 - 2 = 24

Good guys are up again, Silas can take another action if he'd like to on his Round 2, but there was no place to 5' step to and cast a spell and I figured he didn't wanna use concentrate or take the AoO. If he does, then roll the Concentrate and it'll basically mean like 5 more damage to the Spectre from Hecktor/Gilmork. Oh, and it would have meant that Hecktor doesn't take any Negative Levels because it was Fort DC 19.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Looks like Silas could have gone 5' SE? Anyway I got my timeline wrong, it acted before Silas so no inspire and no saving finale :( Good Hope should be up though?
GM Niles |
Okay, So Silas has 2 Neg levels and is 5' SE. Hecktor did a few more damage as did Gilmork and Hecktor no longer has Neg. Levels. Retcon complete.

Cursing as he narrowly missed with his most devastating spell, Lucanor instead resorts to the sword springing forward to slash at the foe, then rolling away.

Silas Hawkwinter |
Silas looks very pale, and his eyes seem fit to bulge out of his skill, "Uuu. Don't feel so good."
We don't have a way of curing negative levels do we? Typically that needs rest or restoration + 1000gp diamond dust or something.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Nodding to Hecktor, Silas rasps, "I feel."
He stops suddenly before continuing in a near whisper, "I feel stretched thin, like parchment that's been scraped too many times... I... I guess we'd better press on while we still can."
He had a strange far away look, as if saying goodbye to the world. It was clear he no longer expected to survive this.
Gilmork |
Gilmork lays a hand on Silas and Hecktor simultaneously.
"Whatever it is Silas, we will help you weather the worst of it until you're feeling better. We stand strong together and I'm not about to let anyone of us fall if I can help it."

We could rest. But whatever, Silas isn't our main source of damage.
Putting a brave face on it Silas replies, "Lets just finish this."
The 'while my nerve holds' part was unsaid but everyone knew what he meant.
GM Niles |
Okay!
With the death of the "spirit" that was possessing the Crystallized Priest...it once again begins speaking to your minds
Drazmorg's foul servants are gone. I am free once more...for now. If you come forward and touch the Crystal, I can Provide you with the Blessings of Pharasma. But you must promise to Seal this place...collapse the passage leading here or Seal the Vault of Tar Baphon!
The Hanging Seer can cast Restoration 3 times and Cure Serious Wounds 4 times. He was once a high level Cleric of Pharasma but his battle with Drazmorg severely weakened him.
Lucanor |
"that's no small thing either way folks, the goddess of Destiny holds you to your oath with a fierce grip. But she's also a powerful force," Lucanor isn't going to tell these folks which is the right path. His soul belongs to Iomedae, but if one wishes to take a gray goddess' gift, that's up to them.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Silas half shrugs at Luc, "When I die." he paused slightly, it was when not if.
Quietly but with fierce intensity he carries on, "I don't want to be stuck here in undeath. I'll take Pharasma's blessing and pull this place down on my own head if I have to."
Silas walks up to the crystal and touches it.
Silas Hawkwinter |
CSWx2: 6d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 7, 3, 2) + 10 = 30
As Silas touches the stone, he is suffused with a nimbus of blue light which shines from every pore in his skin!
He murmers, "Wow." After the initial shock wears off he steps back, looking humbled and bows.
On my phone so can't edit the map. I assume restoration was cast too, in which case Silas is good to go. Let's try the room labeled 2?
Silas Hawkwinter |
Silas gives an enigmatic smile and replies, "Lets go."
He walks south a short and then east a short way. So which room next? #2 or #4?
Jaxom, Stone-Twin |
4 Seems good.
"I'll stick with the Eldest." Jaxom is and has been a bit suspicious of the outlander gods. Humans always seemed to be talking about how their actions were the will of their gods.
GM Niles |
Silas leads the party South down the ancient hallway. Silence accompanies the party but just at the edge of hearing there seems to be a low humm coming from the south.
The party arrives at a massive stone door. The door is etched with motifs depicting Crusaders and Archons defeating a grand army of undead monstrosities, there is a prominent spot where something should be socketed. Whatever went there is missing.
When someone, inevitably casts Detect Magic, there is one magical aura on the Door Strong Necromancy. DC 24 to identify the spell as Energy Drain.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Silas whistle his seeking tune and paling slightly tells the others, "Touching the door would be a very bad idea without being warded first. Fortunately we do have the right wards... Anyway before we do anything rash, I wonder what goes in there?" He points to the place where something should be socketed.
Niles does it look like the lesser sealstone would fit?
GM Niles |
It's a Trap. However you can use Dispel Magic to bypass it, CL check over the disable DC makes the trap inert for several hours.
Silas doesn't think the Sealstone fits right here in the door.
Lucanor |
"I can try to disable it, but my chances aren't great against magical sort of things..."
Not sure my Disable Device has a snowballs chance
"Wonder if there's some way to tie cords or the like to it and rip it outside of the spell's range?"
Silas Hawkwinter |
Silas considers, "Hard to say Jaxom. It's entirely possible, would take some cahones to actually try it however... Of course assuming you're right the question is what else would fit there? Another candle maybe? Or perhaps we need to check in that room to the west? Whatever it is might be in there."
I assume it's not a candle shaped hole again?
