GM Niles |
Ok, Deus ex Machina incoming! I'll be busy today with around the house chores but I'll try hard to get a gameplay post up asap.
Michael Stamford |
Oh god... I'm gonna have to wait until I get my sleep in before I even attempt to read that past the first 20 letters.
Michael Stamford |
Hrmmm... That map is a bit more open than I expected. It's going to be harder to do the archer surprise attack than I thought it would.
GM Niles |
Gilmork I was looking over your gameplay post, is there something that allows you to crit on a 19-20 with the longbow?
Silas Hawkwinter |
Ha I got her, for now at least. I suggest focus firing her now.
GM Niles |
just remember she's prone, so thats -4 to hit her with ranged weapons and +4 with melee
Silas Hawkwinter |
I think the cloak should go to whoever has the lowest will save.
Michael Stamford |
That would be me at this point. Hecktor got the +2 cloak from the kobold king earlier, so he's got a better Will save than I do. Though you wouldn't know it by looking at his character sheet. *hint hint*
Michael Stamford |
I honestly don't think fire will work for destroying this thing. Fire and cursed items has about a 50/50 chance, and a cursed item made of wood just seems way too obvious.
Nonetheless, I'm planning on using it as the fire pit for the camp we make in this grove tonight. If it just so happens to destroy it, then hey, that's a bonus for proper fire safety. Because only we can prevent forest fires!
Silas Hawkwinter |
We should figure out if anyone got infected and give them some does of the cure.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Looks like Lucanor, Micahel and now Hecktor are 'Ill'. I presume with the pale pox.
GM Niles |
Hey on the loot log I just noticed that the loot from the fight at the flamebloom grove isn't listed.
Michael Stamford |
Thanks for noticing. Got it fixed.
Michael Stamford |
I wonder if I mistook what Vade was saying. I read it as him being "Lol! The so-called heroes couldn't do this themselves, what losers! I'm the powerful one here!" and reacted as such.
Oh well, too late for that now.
Michael Stamford |
I think everyone's just taking Saturday off from posting. My other games have been pretty well silent today as well.
Lucanor |
in my case, we had to run a family member to the clinic for a 102.9 temp...she's on the mend now so no worries there.
Of course, we're also having construction done on the house in the next week (and a half?), and that will be distracting but I should be able to get at least one post in a day.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I was wondering what Silas would need to do to boost knowledge checks a bit now that Vade is mad at us. I found this, and my question is: what was the designer thinking? It makes a bard the ultimate skill monkey bar none.
GM Niles |
You guys waiting on me for something?
Also, fyi you guys just completed a slightly modified PFS scenario!
I plan on starting the next module/adventure in a few weeks gametime. So you will have 2-3 weeks of downtime.
Michael Stamford |
That was it for the adventure? Huh. I kinda figured there would be more.
I've been kinda busy these last few days, which is why my posting has been semi-sporadic.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Michael wants to meet the fae, let's go do that?
Otherwise Silas will use the downtime for more electioneering.
GM Niles |
Meeting the fey is not a simple prospect, they come find you, you don't go find them. I promise, the fey are coming.
Silas Hawkwinter |
OK :)
Gilmork |
During downtime, Gilmork will probably be checking out the ruins, the surrounding lands and making clear he wants to contact the fey and ask them a few questions to help them.
I'm guessing he could even try to hunt down that spider in the ruins if it hasn't been killed yet. Buffing myself completely to go and fight it.
Silas Hawkwinter |
At some point I'd like to get Silas a Headband of Alluring Charisma +2. This costs 4000gp so its currently out of reach (if he sold those gloves of reconnaissance for 1000gp he'd only have 2298gp).
Can we try and go through the loot log and decide what stuff we're going to keep and what we're going to sell?
GM Niles |
You guys got quite a bit of loot on this last mission so you might have enough for a headband.
Michael Stamford |
I'll get to work sorting things out on the loot list. One thing that needs done is we need to identify almost everything still.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I'm not clear if we can repeat the spell craft checks, or if we need an NPC to identity them. Perhaps with the aid of a suitable library / lab (i.e. not in falcolns hollow) it might be possible to take 20 on the check?
Michael Stamford |
Attempts to identify an item can be made once a day.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Sounds good to me. Looking at the loot, there's nothing specific Silas will claim. Can everyone else take a look too please?
Michael Stamford |
I'd like the cloak of resistance. I think that was already mentioned before though.
Until the scaly breastplate is identified I won't know if it's of use to me or not, but I have a feeling that it's going to be. The +1 scale mail would be a bit of a sidegrade for me, since it wouldn't provide any better AC but it would let me do something else with the enchantments. Also, there are a couple other people who could possibly make use of it.
The Ring of Protection should probably go to whoever has the lowest AC since it's a deflection bonus. Bracers of Armor should probably be sold since they provide an armor bonus and everyone in our group wears armor already. The scrolls we should hang onto, just because they're always something nice to have available and we've got 2 divine casters.
As for trying to start the next part on Monday, that's fine. We'll try to get loot sorted out by then.
Gilmork |
If there's a sheet here with loot, I'd take a look myself. The Loot Log link on Niles doesn't seem to work.
Besides what we found earlier, I'm not sure I'd want anything.
Also I'm not wearing armour everytime, I grow wooden armour just so you know.
Starting on monday seems good.
Gilmork |
Never mind, didn't see the link at the main page. Saw it now and besides potions, scrolls or perhaps the Ring nothing seems of use to me.
Niles is the spider still in those dwarven ruins?
Lucanor |
OKay, I'll try have up what I'm doing by Monday. I'm afraid I'm not the best at downtime rules so I'm still trying to figure out the best way for Lucanor to help the temple using them
Meanwhile, in the realworld, lets going on including double shifts of work here while construction goes on in the back yard so *Shrug*
GM Niles |
Ehhh, I haven't really thought about it much. Let's say that the spider is there only if you want it to be, call it schrodinger's spider.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Niles how long would a shopping trip to the nearest big town take? (On horse back) I seem to remember it wasn't that far away.
GM Niles |
Olfden is about 1 day away and is a smallish city, Oregent and Carpenden are larger cities but are 2-3 days away. Almas is a major metropolitan area but is about 5 days travel.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Apparently a small city has a decent chance of having items up to 4000g for sale. I suggest we sell up at Olfden (since its close) even if there is not enough funds for any purchaces since the local market is under the magistrate's control.
