GM Hmm |
Hello Patient People!
You've all been invited here because you signed up for Hmm's Starfinder Table Two. You signed up without a start date. You signed up without even knowing what adventure I'm thinking of GMing for all of you!
Well, now your patience is about to be rewarded. When my other table, Claim to Salvation, ends, I'd like to do a different Starfinder adventure with all of you. Chances are that by now you've got into one of the other SFS adventures, so I'm thinking of doing "Incident at Absalom Station" from the new Dead Suns Adventure Path since Thursty has hinted strongly that it will be sanctioned right at launch.
However, I am not tied to this... I could do one of the other Starfinder Adventures that will be out by September. Is there any one that you folks are hankering for?
Please let me know!
GM Hmm |
So... Let's make this easier. What are you already signed up to play? I could do Claim to Salvation again, or I could do something else. I was thinking Incident at Absalom Station mainly because it's the one I'm certain that none of you would have signed up to play yet.

First: Woot! I get to play with HMM.
If Absolom Station is sanctioned, I'm good with that. It might actually be my preference with this group.
I will have run and played 1-00, played 1-01, and the Quest. So I'm also game for 1-02 or 1-03. I'm also cool with another 1-01 (hopefully as fun to replay as Confirmation).
GM Hmm |
Woot! I get to play with Shifty and Blake's Tiger!
We can go with Incident at Absalom Station. Thursty has indicated that it will be sanctioned prior to GenCon, and launch with Starfinder. Since this table will be starting once Table 1 (Claim to Salvation) finishes, I expect that many of you will have gotten the opportunity to play other tables before then.
Why don't you both go ahead and dot and delete to get this into your campaigns?
Hmm
GM Hmm |
It has not dropped for me yet. I keep checking!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
Aaargh! Mine has not!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
I'll be likely running the sanctioned bits, but we'll see what happens when I get hold of the AP, and get a chance to read both it and the sanctioning document. I usually love Campaign Mode, but I am not sure what Campaign Mode would offer in this case!
I am curious to hear what sort of characters you eventually put together!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
When I get my own copy, I'll let you know!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
Hmm, I've subscribed to the AP line.
Would you give me a heads up on any parts I can safely read?
My downloads are happy! I just got my shipping notice!
You may safely read the "Gazeteer to Absalom Station", which contains tons of glorious detail about the setting of Absalom Station! It is wonderful!

Cheers!
Still waiting for my shipping.
Blake's Tiger |
Current character ideas:
Human Mechanic (exocortex), Priest theme: Missionary of Triune (Brigh-aspect) whose exocortex serves as an intermediary.
Android Operative (ghost or explorer), Spacefarer theme: Calculating sharpshooter (sniper focus) or gunslinger (small arms focus) trying to prove his value as a free individual
Lashunta Solarian, Spacefarer theme (or Ace-Pilot or Xenoseeker): Eager explorer of the galaxy who just wants to see as much as he can see of what's out there.
GM Hmm |
Just popping in to let you know that Starfinder character registration went live!
Blake's Tiger |
There's not that much equipment to choose from, but boy do 1000 credits go quickly if you're making a fighter build.
I'm bummed that I won't be able to earn Tier 1 as a Dataphile for the PbP boon. Tier 1 would push me into level 2 (barring some sort of boon in Commencement or the Quests that adds an extra Reputation).
GM Hmm |
I suspect it will confuse a lot of people, since it confused me initially. You will be able to earn it once you have three adventures earned with the Dataphiles. You can totally earn Tier 1 at second level.
Hmm
Blake's Tiger |
OK. I've been leveling my -701 Mechanic for this. I actually got to use him in 1-01 and a pretend for the Quest. Then I volunteered to run 1-00 for a GM-less table (their choice was me who had started prep for GDVI and had two scenarios or someone who never played SF before). But GMs can't downgrade their over Tier chronicles to Level 1, can they?
GM Hmm |
I don't think you can downgrade 1-00, but I need to read through the SFS guide once more. Treat is as a hanging chronicle that will apply when you hit level 3.
Incident at Absalom Station is a SFS Evergreen!
I posted here so that everyone would know!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
Hey everyone, it looks like we'll be starting up in Session 2 once Solstice Scar ends. It looks like both my tables will be ending at the exact same time.
Do you all have characters made for this? If so, I would love to see them so I can have a chance to look ahead a bit at what you are bringing. I am now going to start setting this game up and prepping it.
Hmm
GM Hmm |
That sounds excellent! I am looking forward to seeing what all of you come up with!
Hmm
Charli Poshkettle |
I know. The HeroLab situation sucks. On the other hand, I made Charli pretty quickly by hand.
GM Hmm |
I used the SFS character template in GM Kit in my header. It worked pretty well.
Hmm
Hawthorne the Innovator |
Blake here. I haven't added the two chronicles he has or purchased the few things on his grocery list, but this is Hawthorne the Priest of Triune (Brigh).
GM Hmm |
That looks awesome! All it needs is a list of your chronicles, your boons, and your 'Bot me' spoiler! Oh, and an Avatar, if you can find one that fits.
Hmm

I'm thinking of a Vesk Icon Mechanic.
Bear with me.
Sounds fun!
Bret's -702, Mikka is Vesk Mercenary Mechanic. Still will punch things, but very bright and likes fighting alongside her drone!
I love it when people get goofy!
Hmm
Shifty |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'm thinking more "Big Jims Galactic Towing and Recovery", an up and coming trid-show about a Vesk Mechanic who performs Macguyver like hasty repairs - Macguyver meets Tim the Toolman. The Drone will have the 'mount' modification, and it will be a loud quadbike he rides around on with his toolbox welded on the back.
I sort of got the idea from one of the classic real-life Aussie TV shows:
Bush Mechanics
Mostly filmed in native Aboriginal dialects, but these guys are a hoot and the subtitles are solid. Also, Australia really is that wild.
