Going to wait till later today to see about posting for the original three. Mostly seems we're ready to meet up so I'm going to give Toban a bit of a chance to catch up with us for it.
Then again I'm sure you'll do nothing that she wouldn't like so why protect her. Besides I've not heard her say no in quite some time.
I believe this deserves an, "Oh SNAP!" =)
Toban Ragemont(Male Human Fighter(Two-handed Fighter) 1)
Yeah it should be interesting...I predict me getting slapped in the near future but it wouldn't be the first time.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
So I was updating Toban's walk to the Dragon, had a nice paragraph done, switched tabs to check a fact and clicked a little too right on the way back, closing the window. >.>
I need to go to bed now though, so I'm afraid you'll need to wait a day for an update. IF you'd like to speed things along, you can have Toban arrive and meet up with everyone, I'll give the Dragon a proper description later.

sorry guys.
I HATE when that happens. My sympathies.

Yeah, it seriously kills all drive I have for whatever game it happens to.
The update is basically an info dump, all three personalities mentioned in the Game's info are usually at the Dragon. I'll also be keeping a section for the Dragon's Help Wanted Board in the Game Info so you have it for easy reference. This is pretty much on you guys to meet, socialize and head out. I won't be railroading you to it.
No rush, Rennick, I'll be out of town all weekend anyhow so my access to the forums will be severely limited. And I'm mildly amused that a drowned man will be going up against the burned man eventually. =)

I have just begun a two week residency at the Globe Theatre for my Master's in Theatre. I originally intended to keep running this game during the time, however the course is more intensive than I anticipated. I will not be updating this game until the 23rd or so. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

You dirty rat! How dare you put your future in front of a role-playing game?!? Blasphemy!
Dude, that's AWESOME. The Globe? Shakespeare's theatre? Dude. That's pretty frickin' cool. Enjoy your last couple weeks and Yosrick'll be waiting for you when you get back.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
It is amazingly cool. Seriously any moment I'm not actually rehearsing, I'm looking around with the starstruck gaze in my eyes. Exhausting though. We're pushing twelve hour days plus the commute into and outta London. Wouldn't trade it for the world though.
Now, on slightly more relevant matters. I'd like to run some things by you guys and I would like your honest opinions on them.
I feel like we've hit a snag in the game, everyone's kind of standing around and there's a "Well we know the Dm wants us to chase the bad guy... so... off we go?" vibe. Not anyone's fault, it just sort of developed from a lapse in play and our hasty introductions of new characters.
The original idea was that this would be a fairly sandbox game, but I think we started off too sandboxy. So I have two options that I'm considering at the moment.
Option A (the more likely): We restart the game, keeping the same characters and a more structured opening. similar to the opening adventures of any adventure path.
or
Option B: (The far less likely, but Rennick's constantly exhausted this month so it seems like a great idea): We convert the characters for the Jade Regent Adventure Path. It has ninjas! I've been interested in it for awhile, involves less work for me, and has enough out I'm confidant I could run it well.
I agree with Daemon and Andrin; I'm fine with a restart and more structure, but also would have no problem with turning this into a Jade Regent game.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
I do feel like we need to do one or the other, no matter what.
I'll wait to see what the others say. Gotta admit I feel a little bad, this is the second time Yosrick's joined one of my games to have it come to a halt.
Yosrick wouldn't mind a nice bit of travel to far-flung lands, and it would help him pay off his debt to Ameiko, and dare he say it, our budding romance?
I totally dig how much easier a module can be than a home-made game. I started playing Rise of the Runelords a long time ago and it was SOOOO nice to be able to not have to plot things out every time we played.
I could do the reboot too, but I think I'd enjoy the Jade Regent.
PS and no worries, Rennick, it happens with PbPs!
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
Rather than dawdle on this, I'm going to make the decision now. On my return we will be switching to Jade Regent. You can either make new characters or edit your current ones (Swap your campaign trait for one from the JRPG)
Whether you choose a trait linked to Ameiko, try to work the Rusty Dragon in as a favorite watering hole, which means your characters would all at least know each other.
Post any questions, sorry this is as brief as it is.
In that case, I think I'll trade Noble Born (Valdemar) for Childhood Crush (Shalelu). Andrin will keep his surname, but I think I'll play him as being sheltered and fairly inept socially. Because of his sheltered upbringing, Andrin will be fascinated and stricken by Shalelu. He'll hide behind good manners and formality, but I imagine that won't be a tactic that lasts too long once they hit the road.
And I think for this AP I'd rather have Andrin's oracular powers come from Desna rather than the "strange and alien presence from the positive energy plane" idea. He'll definitely pay heap loads of respect to Gozreh (I mean, he did drown after all), but his faith will gradually shift from honoring any god who he thinks might be listening to depending wholly upon Desna.
If that's cool, then I just need to figure out how to unspend the extra 100gp the previous trait got me.... hmmmmm
I'll have to think about this for a bit. I might rework this character for JR, or maybe go with the dwarf archer/wizard concept I had some time ago. In either case, I'll let everyone know my decision soon.
I like Yosrick, so I'm keeping him pretty much as is, with the change of trait to "Best Friend-Ameiko" to reflect his friendship with her, and maybe something more.
Otherwise, I really like his character development so far, and I'm all for keeping it.
Would you mind if I took the required Campaign trait on top of the two I already have? Removing either one of the two I already have would remove from the character, I feel.
I'd like to take the 'Childhood Crush: Ameiko' trait - as I could see Daemon having a similar outlook on things as Ameiko as he's sort of a Black Sheep of the city.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
Sorry Daemon but I would. I'd like to keep things even between all the PCs. and the HotLC traits were used to give you guys a reason to want to stay in Sandpoint.
That said: The traits are to give you a bonus because of your background, not a background because of your bonus. So you could keep the background, just lose the mechanical benefit.
But if you want to woo Ameiko, I may suggest a background that doesn't tie to the Scarnetti family (and in turn: The Sczarni)
What about the Additional Traits feat? Could that be an option?
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
In this case, that sounds like a reasonable compromise. In other cases (Like say the town guard one) it wouldn't be because I'd have no way of explaining your paycheck. But for Daemon's situation, it works.
I'll be making our new game boards tomorrow. and I think we lost Toban, so I'll be looking for one more player to.
Sounds good. I'm going to keep running Koveluss for now, though I'll have to adapt his background a bit; his current reason for arriving in Sandpoint is specifically to meet with Niska Mvashti. Since she's dead at the start of Jade Regent, I'll probably have to work Koya into his story.
Rennick, do you have plans to extrapolate on the basic plot? I'm wondering if I should retain Koveluss' emphasis on locating his sister, or if I should narrow the focus to something more specific to the AP.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
I will be expanding on the plot to an extent - making the AP "my own" is probably the most fun part for me when it comes to running published works. - That said I plan on having your group's original motivation, their friendships with the four NPCs, stay the same.
My fear about having Koveluss's main goal being finding his sister is it could cause issues with his decision to travel to Tian Xia.
DM Rennick(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)
At this point: Andrin, and Yosrick have been altered. Still waiting for Kov and Daemon.

Sounds fine. I'll stick with the core background, but instead of the sister disappearing she'll be safe in Magnimar training under Allishanda. After being "cured", Niska made him promise to watch out for Koya if something happened to the older priestess. News of the woman's death arrived in Magnimar, which resulted in his return trip to Sandpoint.
I'll get any alterations to the character finished today and star posting.
Sorry it's taken me so long! I work in Retail, so unfortunately this holiday season has withdrawn me slightly. I've edited Daemon - replacing the Black Sheep trait with the Childhood Crush (Ameiko Kaijitsu) instead.
After thinking about it, being his agent isn't as important to his current standing, as much as having worked for him BEFORE as a private detective. So, I've edited everything removing these.
I should be set to go.

Daemon and Andrin, the game has started on the jade regent campaign forum
