Edit: you mean the Boots of the Earth? Good item. Definitely synergizes well and fits with the character's flavor.

They aren't part of my great allotment though. Unless they were party loot, I'm not going to have them.

Poisons, gazes, breath weapons, etc, are not spell-like abilities and yes, they do scale with HD.

No spell-like abilities scale with HD. Their caster level is tied to their HD, but the saving throw (if any) against a spell-like ability is 10 + the level of the spell the ability resembles or duplicates + the creature's Charisma modifier.

I think that the fact that a fairy dragon has spell levels and thus can use wands and scrolls is OP enough without it acting as a cohort (leadership is not going to be available in this campaign)

Anywho, just retconning you in. No need to elaborate on anything at the moment. Everyone just got caught by doppelgangers for as-to-yet unknown reasons.

Re:boots of earth. If Aerin wants them, they need to be part of his starting kit, you can't have them in addition.

How about having different sorcerer spells? Does every pseudodragon pick the same spells? Sorcerers can usually retrain spells.


Picking different spells is fine. Just run them past me first.

I don't mind an exception, but faerie dragons require arcane masters. Could be mistaken.


Improved familiar predates there being a divine class with a familiar. (Though there is a cleric archetype that flat out gives you an imp familiar.) I imagine they'll errata it at some point, but for all intents and purposes spirit animals and familiars are the same, so I'm going to allow this.

Sweet - level 7 with an unlimited supply of 4th level spells to learn! :P I'll show some restraint here. How about in the down time I learn 4 spells?

Lucid levels to 7th level wizard gaining 6 total hit points including 2 for his con score.

His saves and BAB do not increase but he gains a first and 2 fourth level spells.

He gains a feat and takes Spell Penetration

He spends his 7 new skill points as follows:
Acrobatics +2
Knowledge Arcana +1
Knowledge Nature +1
Perception +2
Spellcraft +1

When leveling he learns: Monster Summoning IV and Dimension Door.

The other spells he copies are: Ball Lightning, Black Tentacles, Confusion, and Resilient Sphere

Took Toxic Recovery racial feat - increased ability damage recovery - ties in with his iron liver and all round hardiness.

Figure as we start climbing the ranks, the challenges will are going to get nastier and less straight-forward scraps.
